Do you recommend Chamberlain? How do they teach patho/pharm? Are there lecture slides or do they just tell you to read a book? I’ve heard many negative things about the school. But I gravitate to it because it is cheaper.
i did the traditional route where i went from adn to bsn to msn but honestly it depends on how long you've practiced as a nurse with an associates degree. there are programs that allows from adn to msn but i would always say the number of years you've practiced as a RN is most important

I am a second degree BSN, RN graduated in Aug 2022, passed my NCLEX in Nov 2022, and started working full time in February 2023. My original plan was always to become a NP. I knew that bedside nursing RN wouldn't be enough for me because I would like autonomy and the opportunity to potentially open up my own telehealth practice etc. I'm hoping to start in Oct, but haven't completed my application yet. In your opinion, do you think it's smart to go right into FNP school? I truly dont see the point in waiting since I know RN is not where I want to stay but I am 25 and feel like I have time as well but what is your take on new grads jumping into an NP program?
honestly i started my journey to becoming an FNP 2 years as a nurse , it generally takes about 2 1/2 years to finish the whole program so you'll be starting to practice as a NP by year 5 of being a nurse basically is how i looked at it . but being real you not having enough time under your belt, not even a year could be dangerous down the line , give yourself some time to really understand the diseases and the medications and labs and procedures that go with the illnesses. you'll be learning to be a nurse and getting a higher level education at the same time and honestly in my opinion it's a lot ... give yourself atleast a year and some change , you don't want to overwhelm yourself and you don't want to end up incompetent because you only worked as a nurse 8 months before starting a NP program and now that's your focus . most ppl even slow down or stop working as a nurse because of how much of a demand the course work is so you technically may not even be practicing as a RN , don't do that to yourself . learn to be a nurse first so you can make great decisions in the future as a NP

The program I'm looking into would be 100% online, part time, so I'd be taking one class every seven weeks so the program is 40 months (3 years) starting in Jan 2024 and won't start clinical until like a year into the program (2 years as a RN by that time). I also was a CNA for 2 years and got very close with the RNs and the NP that was there. I understand what you are saying completely though! Definitely don't want to be a incompetent nurse. By the time I become an NP, I'd have 4 years RN experience & 4-6 years of overall clinical experience under my belt and plus, I don't necessarily need to work as an NP once I have my NP license, I can still work as an RN until I feel competent enough (which I feel like nursing is a continuous learning environment). Idk I guess I feel like I'm thinking of the time and I know most programs are switching to DNP in the next two years which is more time and more expensive and I don't want to get trapped with that being my only choice. honestly i considered going back for a post masters as a WHNP because FNP is not limited to one age group but WHNP is limited to women of children and childbearing age. it's specialized and i didn't want that right off . as far as feeling prepared , i wasn't even prepared as a new nurse many years ago but training and hands on practice makes perfect. i'm hoping that when ever i do work as a NP i find someone who really wants me to be knowledgeable and not just throw me to the wolves

I feel like it’s expensive, like over $30,000. I am looking into FNP programs now. How hard was it to find your own clinical sites? That’s the only part that makes me nervous. I am very shy and I will feel so weird reaching out to people and I know most schools make you find your own preceptors. So that part has me scared. Like why would anyone take you as a student when it’s more trouble for them. What is it worth for them.
hi love i'll be posting a video about everything chamberlain here soon since they are my alma mater now i feel more comfort giving a honest review & information, im a veteran so my associates and bachelors were free and i had a little bit of my free paid schooling left for the 1st classes of my masters program which left me with student loans adding to about 42k. i didn't have to accept an additional 1k per class (15k) but i did for random things like books and in case i needed to pay preceptors because some actually are very money hungry and make you pay but had i not accepted an addition 15k my tuition would've been less than 30k. i'll get into more detail soon love
I just had a phone call with chamberlain today.. she said they help with clinical placement. Is that not true? Also she said that once a week professors do a live online meeting to help students and answer any questions. Did your professors do that?

overall not gonna lie it was a lot. i made a new video so check it out cause i was very honest in it . it was doable though but it was mentally draining (for me) i was still working full time while keeping up with papers and tests and also going through clinical and being a mom and wife . very similar to RN school
How do you pay for school it’s so expensive? For travel nursing how much experience you need or do they put you on any floor ? Whether you have experience in it or not
yes they can but primarily in an outpatient setting , an acute care NP may be in the hospital setting doing these specialities but you can always find a office job in these specialties yes . it's a bit harder to get into the hospital
I don’t know if NP is Worth spending all my life time for because i have tried youtube l associates and some others and still failed 4 attempt. I feel so frustrated don't know what to do anymore don’t even have time for my own kids any more 💔💔💔😔😔.
I have a cousin who never studied much, we studied together but she gives most of her time to her phone than her studies after writing the RPN test last month she passed and i failed😢, i asked her how she did it, just found out she got help from Mrs Cynthia

they can float you on any floor , you would need to know your basic nursing skills to travel nurse & to be adaptable

The NP test is very difficult and frustrating to pass, I can't believe i failed after studying with so many materials😞
