Come on dude, the total defence pension is about 1.4 lakh crore right now. Total pension for all politicians combined would be max 0.1 lakh crore (10 thousand crore), so there won't be any dent made at all. And 10 thousand crore is really an overcalculation, it would be much less than that

Am I willing to potentially sacrifice my life for a mere 10lakhs, ruin my 4 years wandering distant lands, disconnected myself from my studies and potential regular employment and get nothing absolutely nothing in return not even a proper funeral?. I think corruption will increase in army. The soldier who is close to officer will be given priority among top 25 %. We know how promotion works in corporate and officers might demand bribe also because end of the day they are human being.
Angniveer is not for saving govt money and directing it to get better equipments. Its for the greed of peoples. I know r&d budget is low. It should be increased. The average of an Indian army soldier is very high compared to most countries and most countries are shifting from man power to machine power . So less man power is needed in the armed forces . The current government has opened gates for private investments in defence(many so-called secular parties have problems with that also even after knowing how public firms function). And most of the defence budget goes into pensions which need to be mitigated in a way to increase the r&d portion in the defence sector.

I think the growing number of NEET candidates is equitable to the case of NDA/CDS . The back breaking competition is also due to people wanting an assured govt Job with respect and having future possibilities of expansion, such a mindset will not create Pioneers and leaders, but people whose entire existence is filling a criteria, such deplorable employment condition kills creativity and increases societal pressure, we dont only want govt officer and doctors, but also musicians, shopowners, businessmen, woodworkers,religious teachers, cleaning staff (with proper training, education and gear) . If we introduce internships in highchools in such jobs all over the country with focus on practical skills once a month or as workshops with joint aid from public, private sector and govt, we might create a diverse workforce who are happy with what they do and are good at it

I was one of the aspirants . I cleared my physical and medical test on 02/02/2021. Centre - 2STC GOA .but my writeen exam was postponed atleat 5 times throughtout the year .The reason behind the postpone was covid according to the govt but the govt was conducting huge election campaign amidst that covid for 2021 lok sabha election. Atlast our written exam was cancelled and the complete panel was dismissed . after that agniveer scheme was introduced . This govt has wasted our complete one year . After this i applied for soldier nursing assistant exam and i cleared the exam but by that time i lost my moral and motivation so i didnt practice for the physical round properly and i couldnt qualify the physical round.

@@vikalawa5301 After that I cleared SSC GD exam but I was rejected because of my height .My height is exactly 169.5 cm which is enough to join the army as I am from West Bengal.The required height for the army is 169 cm but for SSC GD the required height is 170 cm . After that I cleared the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test ) examination while I was in the first year of the D.Ed.Ed course.The criteria of the TET exam was anyone who is enrolled in the D.El.Ed course can apply for the test . I cleared the test . I was happy until the High court declared that those who have passed the test but did not complete the course before the exam was conducted will not be considered as qualified and they have to reappear for the exam .My luck is not favouring me since 2021 🙃 and my life is going very hard and I don't know until when 🙃.
At 3:16 You are briefed wrong Mohak There are also Short Service Commission ( SSC ) entries for officer cadre of Indian Armed Forces. A SSC officer in Indian Army serve for 10/14 years. At the end 10 yrs you have 3 options. Either elect for a Permanent Commission or opt out or have the option of 4 years extension. They can resign at any time during this period of 4 yrs extension. And Most important SSC officers do not get any "Pension". Hope you will correct

@@Movies-eq6xy as per UN standards, there should be atleast 222 police per 1 lakh people. In India, the actual posts are around 180 per 1 lakh. If we consider vacancies it is 142 per 1 lakh. So you see that there is severe shortage. State governments do not have any money for recruiting, training and operating the additional workforce. Since the Agniveers are already recruited and trained at the military level, state governments can save on these expenses and can get additional workforce. It's a win-win situation for both the parties.

I think agniveer is a good scheme the motive of the scheme is good but how it is made and implemented is totally wrong. First of all the age limit which is 17-21 is okay. Then the training is of 3 years and after just 1 year the soldier is made to go. This is not good as the army invested time money resources in training of that soldier and in just 1 year of service he is thrown out this is not good. Therefore the service period should be of minimum 4 years. And after that 25% of total people should be recruited in the army. 25% should be recruited in central armed forces like crpf, itbp, bsf, cisf etc. remaining 50% should be directly recruited in police force of different states as constables and promotions for these should be fast as compared to others. One more benefit from this will be that there will be regular recruitment of people in police no matter exam happens or not and these are trained disciplined people so the efficiency of police would also increase.Also, the people who do not want to become constable or do not want to join central armed forces then he should be given faster promotions as compared to others if he joins as an ias ips irs or other similar services. Also, if he does not want to go for a government job then the fund which is collected during his 3 years of training and 4 years of service that would nearly become 15-20 lakhs and by this if he wishes he can complete llb from top university of India like nlsiu Bangalore after cracking the entrance. Or he can go for a mba degree from top colleges or he can start his own business and as govt. Mentioned that these agniveers can get loan of 20 lakhs also this can help them in setting their business. In this way the scheme can be beneficial to the people as well as the nation. But reservation in govt. Exams or any other exams should not be given to them as they are already reputed because they served in army and they have a decent amount of money. So they are not backward neither socially nor economically. That's it.

govt gets more than enough revenue from GST, PSUs, Dividends, Challans, CESS, SURCHARGE, TDS, TCS on foreign remittances, Stamp Duty, STT, Custom Duty, VAT, Corporate Tax, Non Debt Capital Reciepts, Gift Tax, Octroi, etc. Even if the "4% ITR" people are exempted from Tax, then too govt have more than enough capital. The problem is careless spending. If they spend the revenue wisely, they will solve all of the problems. Just do three things to reduce revenue wastage: 1. Eliminate all the subsidies 2. Eliminate freebie culture 3. Eliminate all type of Pensions. That's all they have to do. But they won't do it, because vote bank and power retention is much high in priority list. The honest taxpayer is already milked to the fullest.
Honestly I would love if the government could eliminate freebie culture and educate indians how it affects our economy but sadly it wont happen cuz both the opposition and the current government needs vote bank.

You do realise, the intend to keep 25% of the people for full time. They will be the ones fighting. Let's face it, the future wars will not be fought with that much man power. There are legit problems with the agniveer policy but the 4 years window is more than a lot of other countries with successful and functioning army's. The best Example is Israel.

50 thousand civilian employees should be removed from the ministry of defence from our defence budget. Special budget should be allocated for salary and pensions for them.
Being extremely anti-social is an important point. Take a look at Sainik Schools (or other strict hostel schools military/non military), people who don't clear NDA exams so many times end up struggling in the real world after being in an old school hostile environment after learning by abuse with no internet etc. Now imagine that but with Life and Death Scenarios in the Army - you come out with either PTSD or one of those brute minded people who only see people's worth in rank. At least before they lived in the armed force circle. 4 years whatever mental treatment has been done would be extremely detrimental in the real world.

I think persion schemes should be suspended for all politicians and high rank officials and should be given only to those Army officers family who had lost their life during duty or on border.
My brother was preparing for Army and wanted to serve but when Agniveer announced, he was so disappointed that he stopped preparing and focused on other jobs. There are thousands of aspirants in Bihar who have stopped preparation due to Agniveer saying they don't want to waste 1 or 2 years for prearation for a job which is of only 4 years.😢😢 It's only harmful for our Army. No one will want to do a job where one have to resign only after 4 years. One more thing is, in all three Army, Navy and Airforce, so many people serving there want to resign because the new Agniveers don't do much work and most of the work load are coming on their Shoulders. The new Agniveers are not respecting their seniors and sometimes they don't even accept the commands of senior officers.

as a personn living in army area(cantonment) i can see the impact of this agniveer scheme in front of my eyes - the new agniveers are not very passionate,there is shortage of army personnels . i just cant explain the situation before agniveer and after agniveer it had just gone bad and worse....

Normally people think that agr army mai hogya toh life set hai(in regards to pension and benefits) but doesn't think about the army. with this only the best of the best will be taken and there will be a mindset of being good at everything during the training. I don't think unemployment should be fixed by adding people into the army. Also govt should focus on the dropouts of the Agniveer, i.e. where they will get a job after 4 years of training bcz involvement of Trained personnel with unwanted elements (eg naxals) can become a great issue. As someone who has very closely followed defence modernisation, I support the Agniveer Scheme although with changes like tenure extentions upto 7 yrs or phase wise retirement of Agniveers + Disability Pensions and Medical Benefits for family. That being said, I feel as far as MLAs and MPs are concerned, all MLAs and MPs should be eligible for pension only after they have served 3 terms. Also, if you are getting Pension from Parliament, you should not be eligible for MLA pension from Assembly (Some leaders serve 3 terms in State Assembly & 3 in Parliament which would make them eligible for both).

Come on dude, the total defence pension is about 1.4 lakh crore right now. Total pension for all politicians combined would be max 0.1 lakh crore (10 thousand crore), so there won't be any dent made at all. And 10 thousand crore is really an overcalculation, it would be much less than that

I think corruption will increase in army. The soldier who is close to officer will be given priority among top 25 %. We know how promotion works in corporate and officers might demand bribe also because end of the day they are human being.

The back breaking competition is also due to people wanting an assured govt Job with respect and having future possibilities of expansion, such a mindset will not create Pioneers and leaders, but people whose entire existence is filling a criteria, such deplorable employment condition kills creativity and increases societal pressure, we dont only want govt officer and doctors, but also musicians, shopowners, businessmen, woodworkers,religious teachers, cleaning staff (with proper training, education and gear) .
If we introduce internships in highchools in such jobs all over the country with focus on practical skills once a month or as workshops with joint aid from public, private sector and govt, we might create a diverse workforce who are happy with what they do and are good at it

I was one of the aspirants . I cleared my physical and medical test on 02/02/2021. Centre - 2STC GOA .but my writeen exam was postponed atleat 5 times throughtout the year .The reason behind the postpone was covid according to the govt but the govt was conducting huge election campaign amidst that covid for 2021 lok sabha election. Atlast our written exam was cancelled and the complete panel was dismissed . after that agniveer scheme was introduced . This govt has wasted our complete one year . After this i applied for soldier nursing assistant exam and i cleared the exam but by that time i lost my moral and motivation so i didnt practice for the physical round properly and i couldnt qualify the physical round.

After that I cleared the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test ) examination while I was in the first year of the D.Ed.Ed course.The criteria of the TET exam was anyone who is enrolled in the D.El.Ed course can apply for the test . I cleared the test . I was happy until the High court declared that those who have passed the test but did not complete the course before the exam was conducted will not be considered as qualified and they have to reappear for the exam .My luck is not favouring me since 2021 🙃 and my life is going very hard and I don't know until when 🙃.

There are also Short Service Commission ( SSC ) entries for officer cadre of Indian Armed Forces. A SSC officer in Indian Army serve for 10/14 years. At the end 10 yrs you have 3 options. Either elect for a Permanent Commission or opt out or have the option of 4 years extension. They can resign at any time during this period of 4 yrs extension. And Most important SSC officers do not get any "Pension".

@@Movies-eq6xy as per UN standards, there should be atleast 222 police per 1 lakh people. In India, the actual posts are around 180 per 1 lakh. If we consider vacancies it is 142 per 1 lakh. So you see that there is severe shortage. State governments do not have any money for recruiting, training and operating the additional workforce.
Since the Agniveers are already recruited and trained at the military level, state governments can save on these expenses and can get additional workforce. It's a win-win situation for both the parties.

I think agniveer is a good scheme the motive of the scheme is good but how it is made and implemented is totally wrong.
First of all the age limit which is 17-21 is okay. Then the training is of 3 years and after just 1 year the soldier is made to go. This is not good as the army invested time money resources in training of that soldier and in just 1 year of service he is thrown out this is not good. Therefore the service period should be of minimum 4 years. And after that 25% of total people should be recruited in the army. 25% should be recruited in central armed forces like crpf, itbp, bsf, cisf etc. remaining 50% should be directly recruited in police force of different states as constables and promotions for these should be fast as compared to others. One more benefit from this will be that there will be regular recruitment of people in police no matter exam happens or not and these are trained disciplined people so the efficiency of police would also increase.Also, the people who do not want to become constable or do not want to join central armed forces then he should be given faster promotions as compared to others if he joins as an ias ips irs or other similar services. Also, if he does not want to go for a government job then the fund which is collected during his 3 years of training and 4 years of service that would nearly become 15-20 lakhs and by this if he wishes he can complete llb from top university of India like nlsiu Bangalore after cracking the entrance. Or he can go for a mba degree from top colleges or he can start his own business and as govt. Mentioned that these agniveers can get loan of 20 lakhs also this can help them in setting their business.
In this way the scheme can be beneficial to the people as well as the nation. But reservation in govt. Exams or any other exams should not be given to them as they are already reputed because they served in army and they have a decent amount of money. So they are not backward neither socially nor economically.

govt gets more than enough revenue from GST, PSUs, Dividends, Challans, CESS, SURCHARGE, TDS, TCS on foreign remittances, Stamp Duty, STT, Custom Duty, VAT, Corporate Tax, Non Debt Capital Reciepts, Gift Tax, Octroi, etc.
Even if the "4% ITR" people are exempted from Tax, then too govt have more than enough capital.
The problem is careless spending. If they spend the revenue wisely, they will solve all of the problems.
Just do three things to reduce revenue wastage:
1. Eliminate all the subsidies
2. Eliminate freebie culture
3. Eliminate all type of Pensions.
That's all they have to do. But they won't do it, because vote bank and power retention is much high in priority list.

Being extremely anti-social is an important point. Take a look at Sainik Schools (or other strict hostel schools military/non military), people who don't clear NDA exams so many times end up struggling in the real world after being in an old school hostile environment after learning by abuse with no internet etc. Now imagine that but with Life and Death Scenarios in the Army - you come out with either PTSD or one of those brute minded people who only see people's worth in rank. My brother was preparing for Army and wanted to serve but when Agniveer announced, he was so disappointed that he stopped preparing and focused on other jobs. There are thousands of aspirants in Bihar who have stopped preparation due to Agniveer saying they don't want to waste 1 or 2 years for prearation for a job which is of only 4 years.😢😢 It's only harmful for our Army. No one will want to do a job where one have to resign only after 4 years.
One more thing is, in all three Army, Navy and Airforce, so many people serving there want to resign because the new Agniveers don't do much work and most of the work load are coming on their Shoulders. The new Agniveers are not respecting their seniors and sometimes they don't even accept the commands of senior officers.
जैसे मुल्ला की दौड़ मस्जिद तक वैसे नौकरीवादी की दौड़ स्थायी नियुक्ति पत्र तक वाली बात हो गई है। इसलिए सरकारी सेवा में शुरुआत में स्थायी नियुक्ति बंद होनी चाहिए । और performance देखकर फिर regular लेना अच्छा है। बाकी कुछ को केवल experience के लिए आना है तो उनको exit option भी मिलेगा, और वो आतंरिक सुरक्षा रत्न होंगे। जो बदलाव करना होगा फ़ौज अपनी जरुरत के हिसाब से करेगी। जो फ़ौज को केवल नौकरी का साधन मानते हैं उनका तो न आना ही अच्छा।

as a personn living in army area(cantonment) i can see the impact of this agniveer scheme in front of my eyes - the new agniveers are not very passionate,there is shortage of army personnels . i just cant explain the situation before agniveer and after agniveer it had just gone bad and worse....

Government should cut off the pension of Politicians and use the same amount in defence.

The scale of army pensions under OROP is such is that, any such simple solution won't make a dent. I understand agniveer is not perfect, and it should be reformed and tweaked but it's the right direction taken
Come on dude, the total defence pension is about 1.4 lakh crore right now. Total pension for all politicians combined would be max 0.1 lakh crore (10 thousand crore), so there won't be any dent made at all. And 10 thousand crore is really an overcalculation, it would be much less than that

Before recruitment of agniveer ,everyyerar soldiers are recruited by army is approx 60k ,but with agniveer scheme it is approx 43k ,
I think for the growth of the Indian Army in terms of tech and mindset, Agniveer is a good scheme introduced by the govt. Normally people think that agr army mai hogya toh life set hai(in regards to pension and benefits) but doesn't think about the army. with this only the best of the best will be taken and there will be a mindset of being good at everything during the training.
I don't think unemployment should be fixed by adding people into the army.
Also govt should focus on the dropouts of the Agniveer, i.e. where they will get a job after 4 years of training bcz involvement of Trained personnel with unwanted elements (eg naxals) can become a great issue.
That's my thought. Me being the son of a Indian Navy Personnel.

As someone who has very closely followed defence modernisation, I support the Agniveer Scheme although with changes like tenure extentions upto 7 yrs or phase wise retirement of Agniveers + Disability Pensions and Medical Benefits for family.
That being said, I feel as far as MLAs and MPs are concerned, all MLAs and MPs should be eligible for pension only after they have served 3 terms.
Also, if you are getting Pension from Parliament, you should not be eligible for MLA pension from Assembly (Some leaders serve 3 terms in State Assembly & 3 in Parliament which would make them eligible for both).

My grandfather is a retired but not tired Indian Armed Forces veteran .... He served our country in 1971 war and Kargil war .... He and Maj.GEN. G.D Bakshi sir were commissioned together in forces , they both call each other as Brothers in uniform ... My grandfather , my father and my elder brother and many more are all Armed forces officers ...I'm only 17 ....
My grandfather said the exact things that you said that this agniveer scheme is absolute bullsh*t , he said that government will unknowingly add weak and incompetent soldiers in our forces which is very lethal for our country .....
