The early model N63 engines were a “hot-v mess” for sure, but from the N63TU2 and up they are extremely reliable and even more powerful. Ask me how I know lol. If you actually want best bang for the $$, buy yourself the cheapest 2018 f90 M5 you can find, go catless and flash an e30 tune to it. 9 second quarter mile on the street for $40,000. Obviously the M5 uses the S63 engine with more boost, and forged internals, but it’s like “wear diapers while you drive it fast”. It’s literally as fast or faster than a Tesla plaid.
Update: my 2014 550i with 86k miles did get delivered last week as i commented on the previous video. its is an amazing piece of art. and thankfully i dont have to fix too many issues on it. best part is i got it much cheaper than you hahahaha. loving your videos! Keep up the great work!

5:45 I work in housekeeping for hotels and vacation rentals a lot of people sleep on top thinking it's cleaner but it's really not because the sheets are changed every time but blankets usually aren't cleaned often just letting you know lol
You guys are wrong. You have the N63TU not the regular old N63. The TU engine has the issues fixed. I drive the actual old N63 with a manual transmission. Still hasn’t had any issues after 2.5 years of ownership driving it daily
I have one too. 2012 550i 6 speed, Alpine white with Dakota brown interior. Bought it in 2021. I'm from California LA, flew to New Hampshire to buy it and drove it back in 4 days. Got it with 46k miles, now at 61k miles. It's been the most reliable car I've had. Only thing so far I've replaced is the top coolant turbo lines since they started to leak. I have only JB4 on it and run it with E30 mix, mechanically stock, and it's still fast.
I had the same "drivetrain triangle" randomly on my e70 x5 which has the exact same engine, got it randomly like 3 times and never had to repair anything, just kept it in manual mode and stayed in 3rd (which I knew wasn't the issue) and nothing ever came of it
i live in croatia but i went to america last month and i was also visiting in monterey and i saw the big sur that shi is absolutely beautiful sad that i missed you guys
Bro take it to the drag strip or sum or take it to the dyno because I highly doubt you horsepower is accurate since you tuned it yourselfs besides that best vid in the series.
@@visiblegiraffe812sorta the n54 had problems w accessories but was built well with forged internals the n55 fixed those little problems but wasn’t built as strong as the n54. The n63 is kinda the opposite they have the revision which came with forged internals which is why its more reliable than the original which would blow up because it couldn’t handle power.
@@Woo.f32 TUs are not unreliable, they're very stout when maintained properly (expensive). It's the high mileage, wrecked and cheaply maintained part that makes your car more likely to break down. As for your judder issue, that is most likely a misfire causing cylinder deactivation. Usually in those cases when its a high mileage car, try swapping the ignition coils to see if the judder frequency/tone changes (since you can't read codes) and replace if you've singled out a bad coil pack. Great content though, subscribed!
Well, you made it by driving like a grannie, which is not a point of a boosted/tuned 600hp car. Very bad video, I expected to see crazy pulls and crazy driving, I wanted to see if it will survive that. I think most of us will agree that this video is pointless, and I wasted my time watching it.
driving like an idiot is a good way to tear up any car look at all the mustangs and challengers that get wrecked because of "crazy pulls and crazy driving"
We need this kind of videos..where after rebuilding and taking it for a long drive... vote for more videos
Sorry but I don't agree with your statement sir
I second that motion
Respectfully, you're looking slimmer Lenny!!

I've never think of that. Is it bc that the sheets take less space in the laundry machine?

The only 550i with a 528i emblem. Car looks great
This is such a great content idea man.
I purchased my F10 for work trips, then I got let go..lol.. But I believe these are great roadtrip cars.. I love it.. Mine is a 535i FBO Flex...
Yeah but the difference is n55 is more reliable than n63
Most car companies don’t have problems with the chassis themselves just engines/transmissions
@@dexterous2513 Exactly why I dont own a M5 and own 2 535i's (E60 and F10)..

My f30 has lane keep assist and heated elements but doesn’t have adaptive cruise control because it’s a manual, I think your F 30 just didn’t have it
You in Vancouver come fix my bmw 335i I need 3 wires done I got 1 mifire
A bit of a clickbait, you did buy the TU which is not the least reliable V8 out of Germany
Just for someone who doesn't know beamers- what's the difference? Is the TU kinda like the n55 is to n54?
What was the original title?
