I'm having exactly the same issue. Their support told me it is a bearing issue, so I replaced the bearing on both of our boards. But the noise was still there. Now I've got to deal with their really slow support again!
yes it is a bearing but it is within the motors and prob not possible to fix on your own. if there is play with the motor (like it wiggles) then the bearing in the motor is fucked and has ground the shaft and is now wiggling making that noise). prob needs to be replaced this vid will explain: th-cam.com/video/tcegApIP000/w-d-xo.html
Just got a mini X and the same problem has happened to me on the right motor. I’m writing this as I just took my board apart and discovered the problem. I’m talking back and fourth with boosted but seeing how it’s the weekend won’t get back to me till Monday. Do you have any information on how to fix it or did boosted take care of the problem. Please let me know any information helps.
If you have the same problem, then I could say welcome to the club. There are a lot of issues with V3 motors. I think the problem is one of the bearings wich wventually wears out the shaft. Make a video of your problem and send it so Boosted. You will get new motors but you will have to wait because theybhave little stock. I am still waiting for a month now
I also had to replace one belt while the other one was still in good shape. So I think there is a correlation. Do you also have this problem woth both your motors?
Your rubber belts. Are they the Gates OEM that come with Boosted? Do you still ride your board, I got my board in February of 2019 and hopefully my motor shaft doesn't break. (my problems were a pebble stuck in a shield and belts needing to be replaced)
My Mini x is doing this, not as bad but I’m sure it will get worse... I’ve had my board a week over 6months and have only done 160km. I’m waiting for a reply from Boosted so hopefully it all goes well
Yes, hopefully this weekend. My voiceover mic broke down wich gave a delay. I changed my pulley from a 17 teeth to a 20 teeth pully wich give the board an increase to 45 km/h.
i applied a little wd40 to clean the dust but the motor stops working. After using the hair dryer to wipe up some wd40 the motor gets going again. Do you have any clue to the reason for it? I then applied some lubricant and now the motor is dead again. So frustrated and confused.
how fucking interesting... i experience this at 92 miles.... out of curiosity how many belts did you break? i broke 2 so far which is extremely below the estimated range of them
I know it’s frustating. I dont think its a piece of junk. These motors are just crappy. Hopefully it’s just a batch chinese batch and the new ones are better. There quality control is definetly a thing to improve though.
@@ipasthemaster The bearings were undersized for the application, about to replace my 3rd batch on my stealth. I can't believe there's not an aftermarket fix for this by now. This was definitely a design failure.

I have the same exact issue... Only 142 miles on it, already had to replace belts twice! Wonder if this caused my belts to go bad?
I also had to replace one belt while the other one was still in good shape. So I think there is a correlation. Do you also have this problem woth both your motors?
It’s a bent motor gear, boosted will send you a new motor just send them a clip of the gear being wiggled and they’ll know. Cheers
I think so bc I replaced the belts twice already
I’ve gone through a lot of motor replacement, they’ll send you a free motor. Happy riding bro
What if the motor they send me bends as well?

My original belt got worn out. I also ride my board with other belts. I buy them on aliexpress
Same issue I have the stealth er. I’m gonna send it until I can replace it.
Having the same issue on my V3 too brother. Sigh

Waiting you upload the motor teardown video I want change the htd 3m pulley to htd 5m pulley gear

@@ipasthemaster where you found the pulley gear
I plan to change pulley to htd 5m haggyboard.com/collections/haggy-drive-system/products/haggy-drive-system-2-in-1-street-and-all-terrain-version
my Mini X has the same problem now after 150 miles... :(
Tamiya's silicone shock oil works for me.

Same problem. 110 miles and the problem started
Welcome to the club ;)

Didnt break any belts but have the same loose shaft problem. Boosted sent a replacement motor. Hopefully, it doesnt happen again
This just happened to me. Contacted boosted and they sent a new motor for free.
Same issue here. Spend over a $1000.00 for this.
Smh I haven’t even reached 200 miles 🤦🏻♂️
Its crappy board
Same dam problem here smh. 1600 dollar piece of junk.
