      @@laurensselflovestudio Thank YOU! If you enjoy them and have a strong community, you don't have to quit. Maybe take a break to focus on TH-cam. I found it to distract me from going after my goals.

      Instead of quitting platforms entirely, I'm taking a break from some stuff and setting boundaries.
      Also, thanks to your motivational playlist, I stepped out of my rut to edit and post my first YT video for years. I even had a Premiere, which was fun.

    Awesome video. I am small TH-camr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

  • @FlowerPatchFarmhouse
    @FlowerPatchFarmhouse หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    I have pulled away from Instagram as well, it was annoying me for some reason rather than inspiring me. I want to keep making TH-cam videos fun and not worry about everything else and that, as you say, keeps me consistent without being stressed about when I post. I was doing 3 vids a week but that got to be too much so I have scaled back and yet my views and income are not much different. Just trying to find the sweet spot of how much to post and avoid burnout.

    • @FlowerPatchFarmhouse
      @FlowerPatchFarmhouse 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@LaurenW-oj8ol I can't say that I got enough to warrant the added work but my channel is over 5 years old and had many subscribers already. But maybe I am boring. 🤪 Right now I have backed off to 2 videos a week and I am still getting the same overall views I got with 3 or more. So I may stick with what is easier and focus on longer content rather than more content.

    I think that I was looking at success all wrong. I’ve had to learn that it’s not about my numbers. It’s about the comments that I get when people say that they enjoyed my video and that they are looking forward to the next. I’ve gotten a lot of those over the last two years, so that is real success, my connections. 🥰
    I love your videos Virginia! You are helping me grow. Thank you! I think that God has you right in the place that you are supposed to be and I’m so grateful that I was led here. ❤

    Found your channel a few weeks ago - been watching often since. I'm currently on a break, revisiting goals, and trying to learn a better way to present. I agree with your ideas and I look forward to watching your content more. I think the posting at the same time is a such a funny one. There are a couple channels that I watch that post consistently at the same time, same day of the week - which I think makes it like going old school waiting for your favorite TV show to come on (and when they miss you are sorely disappointed). The point I wanted to bring up on this is, if you always post at the same time, same day of the week - and then use the metrics to determine when to post - your data is going to indicate what you are already doing since that is what you audience has expected (unless I dont understand this metric and then forget this statement ;) ) At any rate - I like what you are doing - keep it up.
    ps - Loud and Over the top Women are way more successful than the meek and mild - keep it coming - love your energy!

    • @ThisIsVirginiaKerr
      @ThisIsVirginiaKerr  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aww thank you! Yes, I know there is some benefit to posting at the same time to help your audience know when you're posting. But it doesn't seem to be affecting my channel. I also find consistency is key. But if I don't stay consistent bc I'm not good at following posting rules - I might as well break the rules🤣

    Great tips Virginia! And no, I don't think you're loud or being too energetic! I listen to your video partly as a podcast in a way while I'm doing chores and I you keep things interesting! I like your idea of taking ideas outside of your niche. Can you do a video on that process? My TH-cam feed is of things I watch so I don't know what I would search since the topics would be associated my niche and not a different title I could apply to my videos...if that makes sense. Girl, where have you been all my life. I guess the timing is just “right” because what you have in that playlist is worth gold. It is encompassing everything I’ve been learning the last 2 months, plus more, but simplified and “real”. I’m a new art channel and am going to do my own “challenge”. You inspired me. Allen Reid is a friend of mine you highlighted in one of your videos, he told me to watch your stuff and boy was he right. I binged your playlist TODAY right into the release of this video, talk about timing. I’ve been the queen of perfectionism and getting everything just right to the point of decision paralysis. I should have started my art channel in 2017, but I guess the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago and the second best time is now. Time for some fun. Thank you again for the inspiration and taking the guesswork out of it all. Keep up with the amazing work. (He is going to bless you for sharing your gifts 10 fold.❤)

Now when I "need" to post on xyz/Friday at x o'clock, it's making me ...procrastinate, and I allow Life to come before me creating (and kind of resenting it or feeling embarrassed that I can't seem to give MYSELF the same respect and authority that a BOSS would get from me. Hi Virginia, I’m happy you made your flight after making the vital advice in this video. I’ve watched it twice now and likely again soon. I will start making these changes too. Along with intros I think I’ll stop asking for likes. I’ve gone back to see my popular videos and then make ones with recent material and that has worked. Because there is a lot to improve on I will make the changes common to all videos now. Then as I tackle another category I’ll be able to see the difference in views and watch time. I need to be willing to change and you are helping me tremendously with that. Thank you so much and I trust all your viewers will take your advice to heart as well. I am happy to see that I’ve improved from when I started my channel but it has taken me making many terrible videos and I want and need to keep improving. This is why I don’t say you anymore on Instagram 🥺 your reels always were the best one there and oh my I have binged watch them many times 😅
    But I’m happy you are here on TH-cam and I believe many of your advices I can adapt to my Instagram account as as you said, it’s best to concentrate on one platform.
    I only wish Instagram would love more longer style videos. Right now I’m just reposting time to time my reels to shorts here.

    Great advice, as usual. I just started doing Instagram, and it's definitely time consuming. Think I'll focus on TH-cam.

    Thank you for this video, it has many valuable points! I also did watched the analytics a lot to see which day had most viewers and it is as you mention stressful and limits you too much. So I will let that go. Also, I start to realize that most of my own viewers watch my old content mostly rather then my new videos, which make me feel like I maybe should take a break (since it get views anyway even if the new ones don´t) Also, you are NOT yelling to the camera etc, I think your delivery is perfect and it doesn´t bother me a single bit, keep up the good work!
