Hi! I’m struggling with figuring out how to get good lighting in rooms that don’t have good natural light. I have a ring light and a soft box light, but I’m still not satisfied. So, my rambling is requesting a video about the proper equipment for lighting when natural light is limited. lol. Thank you!
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr I purchased equipment from your recommendations. I don’t know where to start 🤪 I don’t have a niche and I’m no “expert” in anything. I also don’t know the first thing about how to edit a video, if you are able to show your process of editing, I find it all confusing. Also, does a TH-camr have to have to have a “business” right away that they promote? Oh and I feel right at home when you “loud”talk 🙋♀️ I’m the same way! But getting up every day and doing hair and makeup for videos sounds a little daunting (in addition to me not having a topic to discuss!) who can help with that? In a very short space of time I have become a huge fan of yours here. I mean it’s ok to watch videos giving advice from people who have mega millions of views but I often find it more ‘real’ listening to people more at my own level or in your case just a little ahead. Your videos are fun, engaging and you’re giving great content. I think the big guys use the term ‘add value’. You are certainly doing that. Thank you

I've been watching your challenge and finally had to comment. I've been on TH-cam for a while. I started my vlog as a hobby with no plans to monetize it. I didn't even know that was an option. I’ve been catching up on all your videos, and you’re on a roll-great job! I have a question that I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced. I have this one video I uploaded months ago that keeps getting views every day, even though it has the lowest watch time and click-through rate of all my videos. Every time I upload a new video, it doesn’t seem to get as much reach. I’m wondering if this older video is somehow interfering with the reach of my newer videos. It feels like some kind of glitch on TH-cam’s end because it doesn’t make sense; despite having the lowest metrics, it keeps getting recommended.

I've really enjoyed your series of videos. I'm a year into my channel and have pivoted recently back to being an advice and encouragement channel (which I started as a legacy for my two sons). In January, I drifted into the streaming and DVD area and my channel took off, and for a while I followed it but was never happy, so I've gone back to my original intent for the channel. I knew it would take a hit and it did, but I'm starting to get some small shoots of growth again. I'd love it if you could take a look and let me know what you think - I don't know what area my videos really fit into.
Thank you, God, for Capcut Transcript editing. It is my lifesaver. I don't think I would be doing this without it. I do it all-in-one take, but the Transcript editor allows me to eliminate every pause every um. And even if I mess up, I just pause, think and start again when I'm ready. And the editor automatically takes the pause out. And if I flubbed my words before the pause, I can manually go in and delete it in the transcript editor. Life changing! Hope this helps someone else.
@ThisIsVirginiaKerr hey fellow Creator! Question... what camera (and lens) are you using for this "Corner Counter Shot" at the end? The background is quite deep and honestly... I thought you were standing in a MUCH larger room when capturing this clip (I primarily shoot outside with Aircraft and not in the shop much). Thanks! Looks like your Channel is off to a great start! KEEP GOING! -Bryan
Hi Virginia! I tuned in daily for your challenge. Thank you so much for the information and consistency. I have a question: Do you recommend TH-camrs redo some of their videos to improve their quality based on your tips and advice?
Congratulations on your challenge! I would love your take on the new 3 min short offering by YT. Should they be done in vertical format, directed to a long? My channel is a mess. I am in the middle of transforming my world and want to do it right this time instead of just posting willy-nilly. Thanks for your input
Your tips are fascinating. Last night I was watching a friend's podcast style video, but I only watched for a few minutes because it's a longer video than I prefer but I wonder if that'd change if he'd used your advice?
Great info! Again! There are lots of opinions about what day and what time to post videos. Your thoughts? I noticed this video posted around 9:40pm CST. Cheers!👍👍
Currently on the challenge doing 30 videos in 30 days and TH-cam algorithm led me to your channel. Sundays I like to rest. So would you post a filler video just for Sundays? Or not post?
That’s awesome! On Sundays I was going to rest but instead I did more of an easy video that showed more of a personal side. I did take one day off. What day are you on?
Thank you for this! I’m currently at 5K and I’m thankful to Christ🙏🏾🕊️ that he got me there, but I started to slow down a lot, and I’m not sure why. I frequently I connect with my community, short films and cinematic vlogs but we just have to keep growing and keep showing up so to all those who’ve been on this platform for a while or new. Just know that God got you and keep being creative. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.🙏🏾
Have you noticed when Virginia is posting? Late in the evening. Many gurus will tell when to post, there is some merit to the advice, like a lemonade stand on a busy corner of a boardwalk. You drive yourself crazy chasing the views and likes by time placement. The long term view is to make quality videos and post them! TH-cam will match your vids with viewers. You can have a 10 year old video and still get views in many niches. Build your YT channel on a solid foundation and you’ll grow an audience that turns into a community. They will support you as YT sends you stuff out to more folks. ❤
I’m posting when I can but when I stop the challenge I’m going to post in the morning to see if there’s really a difference. My late posting is only bc “I’m getting it done no matter what the day throws at me”🤣
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr Yes I understand. The most important point is that you posted. Virginia! From this video or another of yours, I learned I could trim the first few seconds off my intro of an already published video, to make it better. I did this in 5 videos and now I’ve had FIFTEEN of my high performing Shorts permanently removed by TH-cam! Please warn viewers for future tutorials of the pitfalls of some of these suggestions. Tho, my new videos coming out are cleaner due to many of your recommendations, so thank you. But it’s also REALLY frustrating for the hours I’ve lost in work, for a few seconds taken off long videos from that tip. 🙃
Any and all apps that are helpful to your youtube channel (all different ways) break down free and paid and how they help…from the idea stage to the production, probably could be many videos on this topic… How to use chat ai to help your channel (not do everything) wording or find topics
Hey there! 🌟 I just stumbled upon your channel and I'm absolutely loving it! Your advice is already making a splash for me. 🎉 I’m not jumping into the challenge, but I’m super curious-what’s the secret to getting you to review my channel? Thanks a ton, and keep up the good work! 👍
For me, the problem with the woman carrying branches around is: Yes, I read the title and can barely imagine what will happen. Besides that already explained point: It's absolutely boring. Who cares about about someone carrying branches and is not even seen half the time? The quality is also bad. But the quality could be bad af if there were something interesting. - Not meant in a rude way. 🙂 I don't totally agree with the point "you have to talk about the topic within ten seconds". Some people build up their story or whatever topic and they can, because the title is enough for the topic and audience, which is already "knowing", what will happen or to be expected. - I hope, you understand my stumbling words, but it's not my native language and I'm too lazy for google translate. 🙂 Edit: typo Second edit: I personally hate most of the videos with titles like "X things to do Y". Well, nice, but then tell me the things at first and let me decide if it's worth to watch further informations to each topic or maybe, I already know enough. But people who think "oh, I won't tell them, because then, they don't watch my video, so I will waste their lifetime and let them guess every second. if there might be something interesting" didn't get it at all. I often don't watch them in full length. And yes, I hate people wasting too much of my time. And if someone says "But, hey, there is free information for you": Yes, there is, but in most cases, there is enough other information and it's generally no good idea to waste time, also for the person itself. It also just doesn't make real sense. They waste other people's time just for some possible(!) cents while risking to p... off the audience, because they feel like idiots.
I need ideas for my next two videos. The challenge may end after Thursday 😊 any topics you’d like me to cover?

Thanks to make me to understand
Hi Virginia, what mic do you use. Your audio always sounds so crisp!
Awesome way you put together this video 🎉
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr ✌️
good video
Glad you liked it thank you!
Cheers!👍👍
I don’t put much weight on when to post. It seems to balance out no matter when I post.
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerrThank you. When I have a video ready to post I'm inclined to post it right away! 👍👍
Ideas for next video….incorporating music into videos and how to go about downloading free music so you don’t end up with copyright strikes.
In the first! Always awesome to watch you before I record mine! 💋
You're the best! Perfect timing!
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr I do my homework before recording what’s my mind and heart pouring out, thanks again for this awesome piece!
Thank you 🎉 for the feedback!
Great advice!
Thanks!
Day 14! Will publish after completing the challenge. This way I’m able to plan future video. Thank you for all the tips you provided!
You should have some analytics with a purple bar graph to show when your tribe is most active, even then YT is like Vegas, its open 24/7.
Love your stuff, but I still can't wear those false eyelashes you suggested. (LOL)
thank you for your tipps! Maybe do you have some tipps for me? (i am german) thanks!
I've really learnt alot from you ❤
Hello Virginia, I have a movie review channel that is like a podcast. How do I apply these techniques to a channel that is for entertainment? I have only published 6 videos but recorded two more that I am about to start editing. Thank You. -Chris
LOOOOOOOVE THE COTTAGE FAIRY!!!!!
LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE!!!!!!!!!!!
(Did I mention that I LOOOOVVVVE THE COTTAGE FAIRY?!?!?!?!?!???????)
And thanks for today’s video!
I am new: going on 10 months. So much to learn 👍✌️
I am entering a very saturated market of photo/video influencers here on TH-cam. I just posted a new video about a lens accessory, and tried to follow as many tips of yours as possible. Wish me luck!
Good luck! Use your personal experiences and stories to stand out! You’ll find your superpower 🔥

Wow💚
I always watch toue videos to the end, i don't know why anyone wouldn't!
4:15 she has amazing skin!
can we have some specifics to help men.
It's easy for the ladies, hair, make-up, clothes but the guys aren't so coordinated.
It is hard getting subscribers and view and I’m putting in lots of effort even though I create beautiful stories. Thanks for these tips
How do I get you to audit my channel?
Eeeekk 30 %...70 %... 30 seconds....Yipes...too much for me. I came across an explanation of the 10 of 10 rating. So I went back and counted the views on my last ten videos....and lined them up. That was fun....got a 7th place with the last video.
tHanks for all the tips, hints, and ideas.
“You say um and stare off into space” That’s me 🤣👍🏻
😂 It's fixable
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr 🤣🤣 I hope so
Its really hard, especially as a special need mum 😢i make amazing stories,😊am struggling to get more views and subscriber.Thank you for the tips, i wish all of us the best on this youtube journey❤
I have a very concerned question about 5, I noticed a lot of people don't do it and I'm so use to the ni e goodbye ending
so I'm just wondering if you can still breed loyalty with that kind of ending🤧
You don't have to do it.
@@ThisIsVirginiaKerr thank you so much
Any and all apps that are helpful to your youtube channel (all different ways) break down free and paid and how they help…from the idea stage to the production, probably could be many videos on this topic…

New TH-camrs let connect
Hey there! 🌟 I just stumbled upon your channel and I'm absolutely loving it! Your advice is already making a splash for me. 🎉 I’m not jumping into the challenge, but I’m super curious-what’s the secret to getting you to review my channel? Thanks a ton, and keep up the good work! 👍
Why do we feel the need to shout in order to be heard?
I wish I had the answer to that 🤣
3:47 I see what you did there
For me, the problem with the woman carrying branches around is: Yes, I read the title and can barely imagine what will happen. Besides that already explained point: It's absolutely boring. Who cares about about someone carrying branches and is not even seen half the time? The quality is also bad. But the quality could be bad af if there were something interesting. - Not meant in a rude way. 🙂
I don't totally agree with the point "you have to talk about the topic within ten seconds". Some people build up their story or whatever topic and they can, because the title is enough for the topic and audience, which is already "knowing", what will happen or to be expected. - I hope, you understand my stumbling words, but it's not my native language and I'm too lazy for google translate. 🙂
Edit: typo
Second edit: I personally hate most of the videos with titles like "X things to do Y".
I keep forgetting to do #5.
