Just got back from helping my friend pickup his latest purchase, this beautiful all original 1966 Bel air. Powered by a 250CI straight 6 with a 2spd poweglide transmission.
I remember this car...my single mother bought one in about '69 and drove it till about 1980... no air conditioning but it always started and would go anywhere (with snow tires)
Love a 66 Belair - what I would pay for this one! Nice find. Mileage is hard to believe, but in that condition it must be correct. This was my first car, exactly. My dad gave it to my older sister but she couldn’t handle it, no power steering. So it was mine the day I got my learner’s license. Drove it in high school and to the Maritime Academy. My brother borrowed it and crashed her. Sad day. Thanks for sharing this. I watch the video every year!
That is the car I grew up in! It was my mom's car (not this one but like it)! We had the 283 auto with a/c! Thanks for the memories my friend! Beautiful car!
I'm looking through videos of cars I've had in my life.. I had a 66 just like this, only it wasn't cared for as this one. Mechanically it was perfect, interior was ok, body was solid but the original dark blue paint was flat and would leave powder residue when touched. Other than that everything was solid. My gf's uncle at the time just gave it to me, I didn't have my license yet )a year off) and it just sat in her parents yard, and her father would let us drive around in the yard. I never got to drive it on the road, and eventually sold it because I couldn't get it home and nowhere to keep it. This was back in 1985, I was 16yo.. and that was my "Bel Air Summer.." 😂😭
Love this.the funniest thing I ever heard from a classic owner is yeah but its a four door.me i love 4 doors.but the thing is almost every car now days is a four door .lol and most these classic have the same motors as two doors.🤘🏻
i love four doors i even own a four door 66 caprice but what i hate is posts so if theres no posts theres nothing wrong with a four door at all if you ask me
Just picked up one just like this, 2- door, six, three on the tree, same color-willow green, 54,000 miles. It's a keeper. I sure would love to have your original Hub caps-i have four SS original hub caps, would make a nice straight up trade. Nice car.
Nice find! Looks like it was well taken care of, from CT? Those plastic covers, in those days people had them put on, and kept them on for the entire life of the car. They were brutal in the summer. Tom

Beautiful Color Look at the Plastic Seat Covers 😊
In Canada, the Bel Air was also called a Pontiac Laurentian, which used Chevy motors and wasn't a wide tracking Catalina.
I like it. Very Clean.
Really cool car to see, and so well preserved!
I have one similar to this one. It was gave to me when I was 3 years old from my great grandfather.
nice car looks beautiful for almost 50 years old especially original paint
What a time capsule. Those seat covers must feel sweaty...

My 1st Car 283 eng. power glide trans.

Beautiful 66
my uncle has a wagon, same year, same color, just a bit rusty. If his kids don't want it he'd sell it to me which is nice
That's a beauty. Those two speed transmissions were strange. You always wanted it to shift again.
My 2 speed really doesn’t have that effect on me it shifts about where I like and at 70mph the revs aren’t so high I even worry about it
My Father, had a 1965 Bel Air, with power nothing, and didn't have back up lights.
Very cool car
Nice!!!! Love it :)
On older cars the hood latch is up front by the grille

Tom
Originally a PA car, cake to CT in I think the late 90s and sat in a garage. This was it's first trip out since then
I wish you guys could bring back tractor land
I had one as my first car in high school. I hated the two speed power glide transmission.
❤ It 😅
235? Canadian Pontiacs, had a 261, which was a bored out 235.
Super.
seems noisy
is a window down ?
O yeah I just took the clear plastic off my impala recentley same back seat.lol
👍
Damn 231 strait 6.
nice car, very clean. Is that the number matching engine?
Bullseye yes. 231 strait 6 was the economy option. No power much better with the 283 or the 327 option
Thats my car in Jesus Mighty Name 🙏💓 Amen ,Where can I pick it up
Hey mol,,,is this car for sale??
I wish, is buy it if it was
Hey your missing an E buddy
hahahahahahahaha you actually looked for a freakin hood release on a 66 ANYTHING? that's gotta be embarrassing
Well, it's not 66 anymore, so shut up
And this is a great example of why there is hate in this world great going
UGH, that terrible powerglide sound!
