    1970 CHEVROLET BEL AIR 4DR HARDTOP 250 ci inline 6 cyl with 3 on the tree column shift, my kind of big chevy.

    Man just the 3 on the tree would make this a fun car to toy around with. You don't see many cars with a 3 on the tree anymore.

      Especially on a full size car. I love 3 on the tree.

    The most durable engine Chevrolet ever made.

      I wish we could see more videos with those trusty 6 cyc engines. Gas was cheap but if you still liked to save a buck, the 6 still dine fine. Incredibly easy to work on, too. Almost always, everyone wants the V-8's.

      @@frankanderson4176 I agree. I love the inline 6 cylinders today because you can have a full size car but a more miser engine option that doesn't drink gas like a V8.

    My Dad had a 69’ Black on Black no vinyl top dog dish hubcaps no whitewalls. Car looked stealth but only the 327 V-8

      If you kept her to 60 mph on the highway you can get 18 to 20 mpg , depending on which way the wind was blowing . At 60 mph you can get 200,000 + miles. Kids would push her to 70 to 75 mph and they would be fried by 100,000 miles , slow but steady !

    i liked the 1970 chevy bel air. i never understood why lesser models got fewer tailights, tailights are a safety item. bel airs in canada and where canadian bel airs were sold, had a 2 door harttop

    Definitely nice original piece of history, most Bel-Air & Biscayne’s were mono tone paint. I have my grandparents 1970 Biscayne with 93k original 350, it’s gold with a white painted top, I drive it about once a week to work.

      DO you know what the main difference was between the entry level Biscayne and the medium level Bel Air??? I'm looking to buy one because i want the inline 6 cylinder and those are ALMOST never found in the Impala or Caprice.

    i like your 1970 bel air, with 6 cyl. i hope it has a manual, instead of the lifeless powerglide, hard to believe a 4 door 1970 bel air, would be worth so much, (plain jane car that was a base model in u.s, because americans had no stomach for a bare bones biscayne

    This would have been daaaaaamned hard to find on your average dealer's lot in 1970! I'll bet you could have driven it home for $3,000.

      I agree it was probably a very rare configuration. It was probably retail order from a customer to get it manfactured that way.

    In 1970 the Belair was available in a 4 door sedan and Townsman Station wagon,however A belair sport Coupe was available in Canada,

    I'd spring for full wheel covers before a vinyl top if I'd ordered this.

  • @donk499
    @donk499 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well,you surely won't find another one like this. This is a bare bones Bel-air, but they did dress it up with a vinyl top. Everything does look original for sure. Granny must have only driven it to church once a month.

    • @klwthe3rd
      @klwthe3rd 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The Biscayne was the entry level lowest cost option. This being a Bel Air was atleast a step up. It did have the vinyl top and probably 1 or 2 other options.

    Who EVER would put a vinyl top on a BEL AIR?! If that's a factory roof, it'll be on the cowl tag.

    in canada, the bel air was called a pontiac laurentian, with the same chevy body and interior, and motors, built at the same oshawa, ont. plant, this wasn't a catalina (u.s model).

    Maybe it's just the lighting, but the hue does not appear to be Green Mist. Also the lower half of the front bumper being painted greenn is not factory. Im calling this one "Debunked"

    • @klwthe3rd
      @klwthe3rd 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I caught that too about the lower front bumper being painted. That bumper had to be repainted because all Full size Chevrolets of this era had all chrome bumpers.
