ACZ "zero" is a beautiful music even if you dont play the game. Im surpised its not on the list. Good choices though...
That would be because at the time I made this video, I was looking for a particular feeling of violin and Zero didn't struck that feeling at all. Plus, I have never really enjoyed guitar, for the most part, which didn't help Zero either.
I've grown quite fond of Zero now and you should expect it to be on my second "best of" video. :)

@@ALPHACKER2 To be perfectly fair, I'm an AC fan, and really the only Zero track I like is "ZERO", and it still is a little off for me. Just doesn't hit the awesome in the correct way, but I won't deny it hits the epic. Not like Liberation of Gracemeria or Blue Skies (INFINITY Remix).
All these tracks have a smooth flow about them which I like

I know right? Picked a lot of the good ones.
It speaks to how good the composers were--for us, a lot of these songs are elevated because we were emotionally invested in the story when that song played, but the music itself is also more than good enough to stand on its own.

Interestingly enough I have been playing almost every iteration of the ace combat series since it first came out in 1998, 20 years ago.
if there is a real war then I wouldn't hesitate to sign up for the air force
although I would be playing this music in my cockpit.
The only thing good about ACAH was the music.
Actually I think it's the best part of ACAH, the soundtrack... Ok the game is not perfect and too much scripted and all, but just for the soundtrack on some mission I sure can replay the game a little here and here. *guilty pleasure*
@@kwanming4751 technically, depends where you live. Airforce in the US doesn't really do much aside from drones, transport, and satellite stuff. If you would want to see combat in a fighter or something, you'd have to join navy or marines since they do most of our overseas crap anymore. You probably wouldn't see any action here on US soil either since it's pretty much tactical suicide to try and invade the mainland US. Guerrilla opposition and what would likely be a robust home military force would cost too much to try and hold much territory thousands of miles from most countruesthat would stand a chance of mounting such an assault. Though, that's all assuming that the next war isn't just the world bathed in nuclear fire.
18:37 Chills upon the first time hearing this when I got to this level. Somehow going full operatic made the mission all the more significant. My heart was racing through the whole thing. I think it's high time to grab Ace 7 on steam.
Get Ace Combat 04, 6, Zero or 5 first. Miles better. But 7 is still ok
@@Mobius118 Oh I played the heck out of 4, 5, and Zero. I tried 6, but could never bring myself to buy it. The story didn't grab me as much, and the dlc was getting ridiculous.

The Ace Combat 6 OST really hits the nostalgia vibes for me.
Nostalgia for the weird limbo period where it was the only AC game to come out in years and it had switched to an Xbox exclusive 😂 strange times for an awesome game, none have been like it since. The high G physics hit different in AC6. And the RTS meta of ordering hundreds of planes and ships and tanks to shoot at your target. That was raaaad

It is a blessing how the list of OST spans through the years. The opening track took me back to the days when I listened to AC5 OST to get pumped up studying, now I enjoy listening to it while working, it gets me into "I'm on a mission!" mode.

You don't know how much I love you for this. This is a very good playlist for playing flying games to. I already play Ace Combat music while flying in games but to have a set playlist is nice.

I would have put Dogfight from Assault Horizon. Easily best theme of that game, so fast paced and awesome.
Mayhem, as a ace combat enjoyer, is one of the best soundtracks because it feels you're doing a ultimate showdown. I love it

a surprising amount of AC5 in there, i think its the game with the most osts here.
that's cuz AC5 was amazing, so many memorable moments, from the surprise attack that led to your squadron scrambling to get into the air while bombs exploded on the runway all around, to the battle with the Scinfaxi in the Razgriz straights, to the rescue mission of edge aka wardog-2, the loss of chopper...., all the way up to the last mission where both sides start singing "the journey home" in unison as they join forces to support your squadron in saving the world amidst the media broadcasts of president harling joining hands with the yuktobanian prime minister and calling for all forces to lay down their arms and cease fighting.

Every single quote from every single character across this entire freaking franchise is pure, raw, liquid cringe.
But the music? Sheer brilliance.
Guys, personal preference cant be wrong. Make your own playlist if your favorite song is not in here.
As an outsider to the AC fandom with a more skeptical outlook on the stories of Ace Combat, I still think this list is weaker for not having "Zero," "Near the Border," and "Chandelier" on it. In-context, those were the only ending/final boss themes I liked, aside from "Chandelier." Zero's ending was more personal for the player character than any other. I felt that Agnus Dei and The Unsung War really didn't fit their respective final confrontations that well (Unsung War would've been great ending, menu, or credit music, though.), but "Zero" was perfect for a duel with someone who is probably your best friend and who is considered your equal in skill, "Near the Border" follows up on it quite nicely and helps tie up the story, and "Chandelier" fittingly captured the tragedy of genocide, which is what Estovakia was trying to commit in the final level. Also, while this may irritate certain people who hate Assault Horizon (I fully understand why, don't worry.), it at least had some fairly good action themes which would work nicely on this list as well.
Assault Horizon's OSTs are pretty lit, I have to admit. The bombing mission, too.
The only thing that sucks is the DFM.
Rex Tremendae/Megalith-Agnus Dei fit the atmosphere of the mission (Which was set up as an Apocalyptic Final Battle, where the rise of hell on Strangereal would be the figurative consequence for failure) as asteroids are raining down from the heavens as missiles were constantly rising up.
The personal investment you had with any potential foes ended up being squandered in the previous mission by having Yellow 13 perish at Farbanti... and yet this was absolutely the right decision for them to have made in Ace Combat 4 as even though he was our great rival and enemy in the game, we know him to have fought the war without malice. If they kept him for a final confrontation over Megalith, I think he would not have been half as endearing a character to the fandom as he is now if he fought in defense of a weapon who at that point served no purpose than to punish a continent indiscriminately for their victory over Erusia. Ultimately it does mean that the final battle of AC04 could never have the personal stakes that Zero's had... but given my love of Yellow 13, I'm glad he did not fight in that final battle.
Chandelier is a standout because it connects you with characters from the cutscenes whose lives were now at stake, and the tragedy of Genocide is explicitly made audible to you throughout the mission (unless you go out of your way to destroy all the projectiles as they are being loaded). The news broadcasts let you hear the tragedy unfold, something that Megalith lacked likely due to the fact that most of the intended targets of it's asteroids it would be shooting down were fully half a continent away... and it's left ambiguous as to what the smaller missiles you couldn't shoot at were actually doing, perhaps just causing the meteor shower in the local region as a makeshift attempt at complimenting the installation's AA defense, so the Dev team never gave thought to incorporate News Broadcasts into the mission like they did at Farbanti and San Salvacion, and later Chandelier and other missions.
With Ace Combat 5... Unsung War really just feels out of place when it starts playing due to the "Turkey Shoot" nature of the SOLG's descent portion of the mission, and trying to spare Ofnir and Grabacr for this portion of the mission to add to the atmosphere of the music doesn't help since they just self destruct once it falls within range. It's for this reason that I heavily favor "Winter Storm" over "Unsung War" from the final mission of AC5, and even then, I probably would sooner put "Wings of Unity" from the previous mission on my list of music over Winter Storm when including the emotional investment and the context of the missions they appear in.

Comona is probably the best song of AC4. I could use a 4 hour loop of it. Its also one of the best missions of the game. No ground targets, no slowing down to hit as many targets as possible. Just one big dogfight. Pick your target, down it and maneuver for the next.
JKSSubstandard I couldn't agree more though I still enjoy blowing up a tank or two. Also seeing the rocket take off was cool

Not a bad list. If you liked AC5's First Flight, I'd recommend AC4's Blockade since that's where the inspiration came from. Same with AC5's Lit Fuse coming from AC4's Operation Bunker Shot

Stop waiting for an HD port of the best trilogy of ace combat. emulate. I did 2 weeks ago and though I had to set it up (video guide helped some) it has been amazing to play ZERO again and in HD
Yep, it was so much easier to get guns kills when the graphics weren't muddy as hell and on an old CRT TV!
sorry for the late reply but if you haven't played the ace combat games recently in PCSX2, I recommend it. The devs recently fixed a lot of the issues plaguing those games, most notably AC04. Explosions and clouds now render in hardware mode

i feel like the devopers of project aces, From AC5 and on, would had a much easier time writting an anti-war storyline if they had took their time to interview several actual soldiers who had gone to war, the fucked up people, the PTSD havers and write their story with a basis on their war experiences
