I believe in the show it’s specified that Donny actually drew the eyebrows onto his mask. Also “hot soup” is what they were saying not Kazoom and it’s also from the show.
yap, he's been doing it since he was 9. they wrote in an episode of Lair Games
@@kanaliaart8724that episode of lair games? or is is it a different lair games source, because I don’t remember them mentioning it, (brb)
@@kaekaesam6240 yap, green prompter (or whatever you name it in english) in the scene when Donnie dance "i just got second"
@@kanaliaart8724 No, he has done it for 9 years! Given that he is 14 y/o in that episode, it means that he did it since he was only five years old! Wow!
How did i forget about the head cannon of leo and donnie being like something not together but they are like twins oh yeah that i like that head cannon it's not canon the fans made it so i can't criticize
The only sin was not being able to watch this on the big screen, The animations as clean as it is flashy and its perfect
The only country that released this movie on the big screen was China. Lucky bastards.
Brought to you by “Ninja Turtles mutant mayhem” in theaters this weekend
@@thequester8271China? Lucky? Okay...
I would say that if you were to render it down to only having one sin, continuity would be that sin.
How tf did you reply 8 hours before it was posted 😅
The real sin is that it’s not they said Kazoom, because that’s not what they said. They said “hot soup”
Yeah, but the movie captions incorrectly said "Kazoom" so that's where the confusion lies.
YEAH HOLLERING, it’s supposed to be hot soup waaaaiiiillls
Lou Jitsu didn’t deserve his battle cry/catchphrase to be butchered this badly.
I heard kazoom
the *real* sin is this video existing
This was supposed to be an entire season. For the little time they had, they did an awesome job.
Ok
The real sin is not watching the show first since this is the series finale.
true that
Spitting facts 😔🙏🙏
Okay but he did not actually skip this part i thought he did 0:29 but the krang where distracted of the last survivors and also destroying themselves because most of them are weak I'm barely understanding this movie but the literal best situation krang i can't argue
THANK YOU OMG LIKE HE SAID SO MUCH STUFF THATS A SIN BUT ITS JUST IN THE SHOW HE COULD HAVE DONE THE TINYEST BIT OF DIGGING
I did watch the show and also the movie great stuff i would recommend unless you're humorous i don't care
Donnie has been confirmed to canonically draw on his eyebrows which explain how it works over the mask.
I was gonna say...
Since he was five years old. 🤭
7:31 this is why basic knowledge of the show is important. foot grunts are magically brought to life pieces of paper so there would be no blood
Actually those are real people since the Foot recruited real people for the Foot Shack (including Splinter and April)
Yeah because it has guidelines that also this platform has with guidelines I'm going to actually listen to the video now so bye kind of people forget blah blah blah leo finally remembered about the plan i could give you a reason but i still don't care
he hired people and made foot grunts he did both@@roboticturtle8822
@@roboticturtle8822The Foot has human recruits, but a couple of the early episodes showed that all those guys with their faces covered are origami puppets
These aren’t the paper zombies bc they have the uniform but I can see where you’d get that idea
Can we talk about the fact that this franchise is still going? Like TMNT definitely comes off as one of those underrated series that eventually falls off but no, they just keep rebooting it and it does well every time.
The sin here is that the series is basically impossible to watch in many countries because no streaming service has it
The only thing I can't stand is Leo. That's not what Leo is supposed to be. He's supposed to be the more level headed leader like cyclops but every scene is stolen from Ralph and Mikey.
You are a GOAT for this statement.
It's a Netflix exclusive.
@@x0gucx I love the irresponsible Leo because it’s a coming of age story, a story where Leo BECOMES the leader since he isn’t the oldest in this iteration (I’m a sucker for coming of age stories)
10:22 since Donnie is a SOFT SHELL he wears a battle shell to protect his shell. If he wasn’t a soft shell he wouldn’t have one in the first place so being exposed and hard is way better in this situation 💀
15:30: "Which is an empty threat considering no one would believe that this movie has the meatballs to kill off Leonardo and tank the merchandise sales in the last ten minutes of the movie."
The toyline for this branch of the franchise ended about a year and a half before the movie dropped.
Not to mention that Nickelodeon tanked this show themselves. It's clear that Cinemasins didn't do their research.
And also they ACTUALLY did plan to kill Leo off but decided against it in case the series would continue
(Though, it's possible its just a rumour rather than a fact)
Let's MAKE it a fact by bringing th show back! Don't give up on it! Keep asking, keep making posts/videos/sharing the petition. Who knows what could happen? @@A_Krix
also they literally made a joke in the show about Leo selling the least amount of toys 🗿
@@probablydeadinside7877 lmao can’t forget that 😂
OK SO
There are things that shouldn't be sins here:
-they literally don't have tails, so no cloacas. Stop joking about that, they're minors.
-future!mikey dying during the portal scene is meant to build suspence during the final portal scene as well as make pre existing rise viewers sad
-Warren (the worm) has an image obsession, so wigs are very plausible
-april is purposely very brave and rowdy
-donnie's eyebrows are canonically drawn onto his mask
-that "stolen motorcycle" is actually one of donnie's inventions called the shell hog
- donnie is canonically autistic and the disgusting space ship is to help nerotypical audience understand his sensory issues
-the kraang use gendered labels
-hot soup is a phrase used by pre mutation splinter and eventually learnt by the boys at young ages
-the we're stronger together trope is a series theme throughout the entire show
-mystic powers are the main trope of rise of the tmnt while supporting the we're stronger together theme.
LITERALLY THANK YOU??? all that crap was pissing me off sm 😭 you can critique the movie and all, no movie is perfect, but all that just felt completely unnecessary and passive aggressive??? Especially with the complainants about Casey, the stubble comment and the “hesitating stakes” had me incredibly peeved. He was hesitating because he was basically about to lose his mentor TWICE in the same time frame, if you were in his position, would you not be emotional too??
I get these videos are mostly satirical and all, but fans have been fighting TOOTH and NAIL for the damn show to come back, this is just adding more fuel to the fire of thing’s we’re up against when it comes to retrieving the show and it makes me incredibly upset, the entire point of the movie including the character development and relationships was completely missed, even non-fans of the show who watched the movie said the development was good! Jfc.
I probably sound very passionate rn so i apologize for the rant, but dear god there are so many things in this video i could complain abt
@@L4xu0rii_PNG ACTUALLY
dude i am frothing about how he handled this movie for these reason
i get he's only sinning movies and stuff, but surely he KNOWS this all takes place after a show right?? there's so many things that would have changed some of his views on this (and girl yes i am upset bc god damn do i love this show and movie !!! hype autism and ADHD representation makes it all the more better !!!!! Donnie ftw)
I HEART BOTH OF YOU
Yeah that's all a lot of basic takes and justifications which only sound reasonable if you watch "rise of the TMNT".
And if you DID watch that, you know it's not exactly deep. Or strict about its world.
Donnie draws his eyebrows onto his mask, which was revealed in the show
Hot soup, not kazoom, is their catchphrase from Splinter in his Lou Jitsu life before becoming mutant
YES THANK YOU
Yes, and he drew them on since he was only 5 years old. Can you imagine it. Five years old him drawing eyebrows onto his cute, lil mask. 😂

As someone who watched the three preceding series but not this one, I have to say: the animation for this iteration is incredible!
It’s short and really worth the watch. Plus they have the GOAT TMNT (2003) on the same streaming service as all of Rise. I think Netflix only has the movie and season 1, last I checked.
@@emperortime4380 what streaming service?
Yeah I seen way worse animation out there, it's fine
@@ShazeemKhan Tbh, the fight scenes are beautiful. It objectively has the most visually stunning fights of any iteration. I prefer the choreography and more street level fights of the 2003 series, but I’d be lying if I said these fights weren’t super fluid and just fun to watch. It definitely went a more anime direction, which might put off some purists.
@@emperortime4380 The animation and artstyle is incredibly impressive, but story and character wise, I definitely prefer the other shows/movies.
7:53 Let me break it down for ya: in this series, Leo fails at controlling how to CREATE the portals, let alone use them with any type of accuracy; we viewed this as "FINALLY! He LEARNS HOW to do this!"
13:23 In case no one said -- there's 2 episodes that show Donnie drawing them on his mask.
15:18 It's been said in the comments, but it's "Hot Soup" and it's a catchphrase that Splinter used when he was human and an Action star; basically a WTF?! version of Bruce Lee. The turtles say that b/c Splinter taught them through his 'blockbuster' movies, where that line is splashed everywhere.
About that early sin about needing to explain Casey Jones... there is none. There was a female equivalent to Casey at the end of Season 2, but she doesn't appear in the movie until the very end there. This Casey debuts in this movie.
She Casey's mom. I watch these series. I like it but had to look up stuff on why and how certain characters were etx
So wait casey jones from the future? Ive never watched this series
@FrancistheBrave Yea, in this universe Casey is from the future. Cassandra, Casey's mom, was a Foot soldier who appeared every so often in the show but wasn't revealed as the show's Casey until near the finale.
@@buchiklop110 wow thanks for the info man.
@@FrancistheBravehis full name is Casey Jones Jr. he is not the actual Casey Jones of this tmnt universe. The actual Casey Jones of this universe is the girl Cassandra Jones (but goes by Casey).
Rise is my favorite iteration of TMNT. I loved the characters, the animation, and the story. It was a breath of fresh air and I will never not be devastated how people didn't support it when they could.
Right?! Rise was so much fun, so well characterized, so well animated. Each of the turtles had such fun visual aspects, personalities, and relationships with each other. I will never really understand why the fandom slagged it off so hard.
@MidnightAge
You will never understand? Ok lemme break it down for you the first tmnt cartoon was made back in 1989 by dic studios a company that was responsible for Spider-Man and his amazing friends, ghost busters and the 80s Voltron just to name a few Saturday morning cartoons, the tmnt cartoon did so well it got a video game release on Nintendo,Sega and a game boy ,it also got 3 theater releases within a few yrs from each other ,there were two companies making toys from the cartoons , playmates and a company that went out of business, keep in mind all this that happened was during the 80s to mid 90s going into and past 1994. The old show did so well that there are DVDs of the ENTIRE 80s cartoon on sale even to this day , Konami and rereleased the entire ninja turtles video game saga on a cowabunga collection which starts with the original arcade port all the way to the sega and super Nintendo versions. People loved and still love the original turtles and didn't like the newer versions you can call it nostalgia but that very nostalgia is what has kept the og turtles thriving while the two movies they've had couldn't even beat the original 3 movies combined
IKR?! Rise is the GREATEST!!
Definitely should get more seasons!
@@shoken4421a hell of a lot of words to explain something that
A. No one asked
B. Almost anyone who knows anything about TMNT already knows.
But thanks for that long winded exposition that said literally nothing. You should be proud of it. It's hard to make literally no point in that many words.
@@MidnightAgeit's actually a pretty easy question to answer. The majority of the fan base grew up and stopped watching cartoons. It really is as simple as that. I as a 43 year old man have no interest in cartoon turtles anymore. Loved em growing up, but then I grew up...
They said “Hot soup,” not “Kazoom.” It’s a thing from the show. And Donnie canonically draws those eyebrows on his mask.
YES THANK YOU
Had to do a check if someone said it was hot soup not kazoom glad to not be disappointed.
What makes me upset is that on Netflix, the subtitles will say “Kazoom” instead of Hot Soup. I have no idea why, but that’s where the confusion lies (though since CinemaSins doesn’t watch the series, he wouldn’t get that either. XD).
@@an1vamp1r3because the captions are written by just regular people not officially by anyone involved with the movie. (Or who watched the series) They heard "kazoom" and wrote it.
Cinema Sins rager should be sinned forever for not doing any research on the things he's raging about.
One thing to point out about the "Ka-zoom" sin... They didn't say Ka-zoom.
They said "Hot Soup", which is just as confusing and even more nonsensical to someone who's never seen the show. But TLDR it was Splinter's catchphrase before he got mutated into rat sensei dad since in this continuity he was a kung fu movie star
Boy this is my favourite movie, why am I hurting myself by watching this Edit: I have said fuck off at least three times watching this- DID YOU JUST CALL THE MOVIE TERRIBLE?!

Pointing out the donnies eyebrows sin:
He draws them on with a sharpie. It was in the show, in the lair games episode.

Surprised he didn’t laugh when Leo said “if this isn’t the poster shot, someone’s gettin’ fired” 😂
That was actually funny.
Donnie draws his eyebrows on😂 Thanks for doing this one, Rise is my favorite version of the turtles.
You know, so many fans slagged off Rise of the TMNT, but legit I thought it was one of the more fun versions of the turtles that have existed for a long time. I actually loved how each turtle was visually unique and had really clever characterizations. The show was colorful and fun. It had a few serious moments and it had a lot of genuine heart, but it basically came in with the directive of "lets just enjoy the absurdity of the premise and have a good time" and that's exactly what it delivered. It was good stuff. And the animation was honest to goodness some of the best TMNT animation there has ever been. Rise Raphael is probably my fav version of the character, ever. And he's always been my fav turtle. I thought it was genuinely enjoyable series.
I’m usually a fan of this channel but most of the “sins” are actually due to not watching the series which just makes every sin sound idiotic rather than clever. Sure hope Cinema WINS makes up for it and actually watches the series first.
very happy this was made but I think the sin tally would be almost cut in half if the people had watched the show lmao
More than half, almost everything they sinned was explained in the show lmfao
I will say the action scenes in the movie are awesome. The animations are beautiful.

This series is WHY I love tmnt in the first place
I know Jeremy and these videos are solely based around the movie we're watching, and I'm totally cool with that, but I hope at some point he sits and watches the show because not only is it actually fanTAStic, but his disappointment in this version of Splinter he mentioned would be drastically changed. Delivers for tmnt fans
I remain convinced that 90% of the reason people disliked Rise from the start is their treatment of Master Splinter’s character. Seriously, he deserved better.
I actually really like what they did with splinter. It was different but ultimately it made sense for the kind of story rise was trying to tell and also the fact that they allowed splinter to be flawed and to learn and grow was really cool!!
to be fair, he's set up that way to actually like, make him apart of the character development too, not just make him the standard sensei character; he's actually acting like their dad in this one, and he learns how to do that better while also maintaining his status as their mentor!
He did deserve better, and he got it by the end. I think the purely comedic tone of Rise at the start implies that Splinter is just lazy for laughs, and if it had been a tad more plot focused it would've been easier to see his character as the starting point for one of the greatest arcs I've ever seen. His development throughout the show is so satisfying, and he's my second favorite character by the end of the show (Donnie is the funny one)
I believe he was supposed to have a big glow-up and actually get in shape and become wiser and smarter if only they hadn’t fricking cancelled the show!!!
The real sin is that they said hot soup not kazoom cause their biggest inspiration says it as his catchphrase
11:45 in the second episode of the series, Raph eats bait salami that had a tracker in it. Hence why Donnie can pinpoint his location and not the others.
Also the krang is narcissistic.

I’m so glad Casey’s walk up the stairs that lead no where and April dropping her phone we’re pointed out cause they make me laugh in the movie, just cause like- they make no sense.
Too many people who know barely anything about tmnt (especially rise) are judging. “Why do they have powers” it’s explained in the show “Why do they say hot soup” it’s explained in the show. All these dumb questions can be explained by watching the show or just googling it. Also people are complaining about the powers so much and saying some shit about the other shows as if they (apart from 1987 to my knowledge) didn’t have all had powers at some point too
So many people are just being racist too

I totally recommend the show! The first few episodes or pretty meh ngl but many shows aren't great in the beginning. Also while a good theory Casey only appears in the movie. The real shredder is much more interesting ^^
I love the show. It starts off as a purely episodic comedy, and by the end of the first season theres episode to episode continuity and some of the most brilliant character development in any iteration of TMNT. And season two is just so much. It's so good
If you have the time, do watch it! But if you wanna focus on lore episodes, you can totally look at CellSpex's ROTTMNT review; she has a list of all great lore episodes in the end of the video! Idk where you watched it if the script said Ka-zoom or what not, but I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be "Hot Soup!" which is a thing they do say a lot in the series cause of their ineffective instructor not teaching them anything due to depression and self-destructive tendencies, so they watched a movie series where the stereotypical martial arts jackie chanalike shouted Hot Soup as a battlecry and they learned their moves from the movies. Which they later find out was Splinter
The captions say "ka-zoom" but they actually say "Hot Soup"

“Ka-Zoom” sort of was a thing, only it wasn’t “Ka-Zoom”, it was “Hot Soup.” *ding*
They didn't say "Ka-Zoom". They said "Hot Soup", which is somethign they do say all the time
You have to have had watched the series to understand the movie. Especially the character's personalities because they are very different from all previous versions. Except for Mikey.... Mikey is still Mikey, just more unhinged. Also, this movie was very rushed due to the series being canceled. So the creators basically had to take all of the plot points that we're planning to span over another 15+ episodes and shove the most important ones into a movie to make a finale. For example, Mikey being the greatest mystic warrior. Mikey was supposed to have a character development episode that focused on his mystic abilities. But due to the cancelation, it didn't happen. (All of the other turtles had a CD episode)
I’m glad the actual audience loved this like I did 😂😂😭 bring this version of the show back 😭😭❤️

in the series it's confirmed that donnie draws on hi eyebrows and the "kazoom" is actually "hot soup" that is a catchphrase they use all the time in the series
"Cinemasins does a video on a movie before a sequel/remake/reboot gets released" cliché.
They didn’t say “KAZOOM” They said “HOT SOUP”
Substract atleast 50 points
I’ve been waiting for this vid for MONTHS Istg😭
I hope everyone has the day they deserve today 🤗
Same to you!!! 💋
7:18 Heh, there aaaaaaactually may be an explanation for Warren’s hair growing back so quickly. ^^;;;
The running gag for most of the episodes that he’s in is that since he’s a mutant worm, he can regenerate body parts. There’s an episode where Leo panics because Warren lands on his face, and slices him in half, but Warren still gets up, monologues, and crawls away… because why not? ^^;;;
13:25 Aaaaaand yeah, there’s an episode that explains this too. ^^;;;
Donnie draws those on to each and every single one of his masks. Aaaaand Raph, Mikey, and Leo all stole them for funsies one episode to sort of try and be like him.
15:22 AAAAAAAND it’s not, “Kazoooom!”.
It’s, “HOT SOUP!”.
Soooooo… when Splinter was a human, he was a famous Japanese Hollywood martial artist. Think Bruce Lee mixed with Jackie Chan, buuuut Japanese. And spouting ridonkulous sayings like, “HOT SOUP!”.
Why?
Because… yes. 🤣
Aaaaaand yes, if you couldn’t tell, I’m just a tiiiiiiny bit obsessed with the Ninja Turtles. In every form. 🤣
Loved this movie
This was great, also do you know how happy i was to see this, rottmnt is one of my favorite versions of tmnt
Man.... So this is how someone who has never seen the show sees the movie
Which was advertised as a finale(?) To the show
The show well shows why Sinter knows who the krang is in the last season, because a Krang created the shows shredder
the madagascar reference was elite
