Any idea if this would be similar to a 97 ford v10? Cant seem to find much info on it.
@@stechmer1 I think the first V10 in the F-250 came out in 1999 with the super duty trucks. Prior to that they had the 7.5 V8. What vehicle is yours in?
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive it's in a 97 ford motorhome. Never worked on a motorhome in my life. Hoping I don't regret taking this on haha
@@ValleyMobileAutomotive according to them it's a 97 anyway, I havent layed eyes on it yet
@@stechmer1 According to the part numbers for the head gasket set and timing chain set it should fit a 1997 E-350 V10. I imagine that's the chassis your motorhome is on.
I basically just need to pull off the intake manifold. Any idea if the alternator can stay on? I figure I'll be pulling it out the rear (doghouse) atleast I'm hoping
Great video. Why did you choose to remove the front of the truck? Is this a shop repair or yours? I am surprised you don't have more comments.
Hey good question. Removing the front of the truck makes it way easier to get to the engine. So you don't have to keep climbing up on the bumper and lean over.
Key to mechanic work seems to be getting proper access
Hey wassup man. Quick question. Would this be similar to a 2000 f350 with the v10
The engine will be the same. There may be slight differences in body and frame components. But I imagine it would be very similar.
I feel like I ended up with this shitbox 😂 my v10 has definitely been apart and every clip is broken just like yours but now I get to pull the driver side head because it failed the leak down test and pushing air out the exhaust valve, fucking ford junk 😅
Agreed. I've got 145k on a 1999 F-350 and the timing chain passenger side broke. I like the look of the truck but after doing timing chains on a 98 explorer4.0 ohc engine, passenger side chain is at the back of the engine, I should have told myself, never buy a Ford again. I'm an idiot
