I'll never forget the day I got laid-off from a job for the first time in my life. It was on a day when I had tickets to see The Who in the front row that night. I got laid off and went home and told my wife the "devastating news" and I wasn't sure if I should go to The Who gig that night. She told me I absolutely should go. And out of the blue, The Who played Another Tricky Day out of the blue for the first time in many years. I practically cried. And in less than a week I secured a new job making more than I did at the previous place. Because of that, Another Tricky Day will always hold a special place in my heart.
No more tricky days for this kid. Couldn’t be happier. Everything has come together for me and my life is going better then I ever imagined. A feeling of peace contentment and calm Live my life how I want it with no one to hinder me or aggravate me. Some pests but bug spray tskesnit away. All she is frankly is a lonely insect looking to bite My thick skin cannot be penetrated by a lonely insect. They are weak just like her son Peace out. The open road on an Indian summers says her in the northlands

I’m growing old, but man The Who and a plethora of bands of the time, put out such quality albums - so many great hits - this type of quality music and lyrics with such longevity of brilliance is rare today.
Not long before this album came out my first wife declared that she didn't love me and was leaving. Faces Dances, the album, and this song helped me to hang on and get by. I've always been grateful to the Who for that.
I bought this album when it came out. I was 21 and knew everything and the world was mine. GREAT memories. Now, I don't know anything and the world has gone to hell.

Pete Townshend is a genius! What a great song about life! This is what gave me the courage and inspiration the day I made my first cold calls as a saleman in downtown Cleveland! Thanks to The Who, I made it through, again and again!
Most bass players to this day can't play what Entwistle played with ease on studio tracks some 4 decades ago. Download some live concerts with The Who bass solos, another stratosphere of bass playing.
nick robinson My wife, best friend andI met John at an art event he hosted. He was such a humble gentleman. Wearing his red cowboy boots and Boris The Spider necklace he spoke to each person as a dear friend. On display at the gallery were various renditions of his “Who By Numbers” series which were quite nice. We miss him greatly.
Listened to Face Dances for the first time at the start of May 2022. I had just committed to college, a big time of accepting new beginnings, which has always been overwhelming for me. Listened to this album on May 1st, then that Tuesday May 3rd I got asked to prom. Spent the whole month simultaneously planning for prom with the thrill of my first love, wrapped up senior year of high school with all of the fun end of school events that took place, went and actually saw The Who in concert, went on class field trips, went to the beach, and had my first kiss. Every day was something new and fun. May 2022 ended up being one of the if not the best month of my young life so far, and all throughout, songs like Another Tricky Day and You Better You Bet and Cache Cache were playing in my earbuds. For that reason, I will forever treasure this album. This song brings the nostalgia already.
The Ox is such a beast on the bass guitar. He might as well invented the damn thing. Long live The Who. Another Tricky Day is another brilliant song from these lads.
Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry's voices are so different, yet they compliment each other well. In this one they both sing together and do quick back and forth solos. Love it.
Thanks for the beautiful music...the good ol' rock and roll! John Bonham and Keith Moon were drummers beyond this universe...even when they were alive & I'm sure that they're still playing up above or wherever we may go! Mysterious!!!! Pete Townshend guitar playing is mind blowing as was Jimi Pages. I was lucky to see Led Zeppelin in 1975 @ the Los Angeles forum & I wanted to be in front of sexy Robert Plant. Fortunately I was in the 9th row right in front of Jimi Page & they say that he was into the hodo/video....whatever was happening that man had me mesmerized to the max!!! The light show was bitchin' & he played SO many different guitars - oh MY heart and soul! It wasn't hard for it to blow me away because I was trippin' on some "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - HA!!!! I must add that we've recently lost one of the greatest guitarist..."Prince"! I've seen him live twice....the second time all by myself & an awesome after concert party that I had to find by myself- kinda scary/VERY EXCITING!!! Hey, not everyone loves "Prince"...to each their own. He was outrageously talented on ALL the instruments & he passed on from too much opiates in the ELEVATOR! Thanks to ALL the musicians on this planet EARTH as well as beyond this planet EARTH. If we're all that's here.....it seems like an awful WASTE of SPACE!!!!!!!All my love to you, Nellie Mary Eleanor Allen-Ames
Two extremely gifted vocalists in one band, with two completely different sets of vocal qualities. One of the best songwriters of the 20th century (not just in rock). Arguably the greatest rock bassist. And, well, Keith Moon. (Props to Kenney Jones)
"This is no social crisis, this is you havin' fun. No crisis, gettin' burn by the sun. This is true. This is no social crisis, just another tricky day for you."
The lyrics are sublime by Townsend, so prolific and still stands the test of time nearly 38 years later. Roger is at the top of his game with his vocals, Townsend's harmonies are spot on,. Jones is refreshing to hear on the drums; not much in-fill, just keeping a solid beat which was perfect for this song....and the bass, well let us just say that John turns in another perfect performance. One of the best Who tunes of all time. Each performer exhibits excellence, diversity, timing and pitch-perfect singing...Nice job boys
Trying to learn lyrics to Eminence Front..seemed like haiku..you cannot transpose the lines. ATD is so rhythmic that you can recite the words without knowing the melody and yet the melody will be hinted at by the words! Amazing.
Kenney Jones said when Townshend called and asked him to join the Who after Moons death , “it’s the greatest rock band in the world. I can never replace Keith. Nobody can. But I’m gonna give it my best”. Well done Kenney. I think about the guy on the Bulls who replaced Jordan after his first retirement. Impossible situation.
Townshend got better with age, was one of the few who did and kept rockin... His solo stuff is fantastic but always nice to have the pull to bring in great session musicians.
@Pete Townshend (The Who) Hi Pete been listening for years , and hear your about to retire with Roger, I know its a tough decision. I'm faced from retiring from my job which I'm having mixed feelings about. My body is taking a beating but I love what I do. Good luck in your step of life.

Another Tricky Day Is A Great Straight Up Killer Kick-Ass Song By The Who And Totally Rocks It Needs To Be Fully Cranked Up All The Way To Full Maximum Volume.
I can't believe this TH-cam made me a random playlist out of videos that I saved. So here I am making a comment choose a person talking about getting laid off and I see my name, a comment that I need two years ago😮😮😮 that is crazy because I've been sitting here on my phone trying to make a comment for the last hour but I keep getting interrupted and I was just about to give up and I turned around and saw this comment from two years ago I never hardly ever put comments on TH-cam. And who would have guessed that I would see this post from two years ago that would stop me in my tracks and now again today do same thing. It must be a sign. A sign of the times 🤔🤔🤔😮
So many ways Townshend blows my mind. This is The Who in its end-stages. About done, they are, but not dead. Townshend does what he can't help himself from doing--he insinuates himself into the middle of one of his great songs. And he makes it into a better song.
....I was cruising down the Meadowbrook Parkway on my way to Jones Beach when this record came out...this song makes the Face Dances Album worth the price.
I over-reacted when this album came out back when. Now I see the truth in it. The band is in top form. Pete and Ox, in particular, top drawer. Roger, though, really shines. He gives probably one of the best vocal performances in rock history on this one. Trancendent, really. Fella.
Tyler Thompson . I over-reacted too when this album was released in 1981 but I was only 19 then. You're right, this could very well be Roger's best vocal performance. Never thought about that before but it's possible.
I rarely see anyone commenting on how well Townshend and Daltrey’s voices fit together.
TOWNSEND AND DALTREY'S VOICES FIT TOGETHER
This is quite possibly the tightest Who song they've ever recorded. John Entwistle really shines on this one. Master bass player.
No doubt the runs he does RIP JE
This guy finds notes on that bass's fret board that just don't exist. My sub has broken many glass furniture listening to The Who.
I think people forget just how great these guys were.

Agreed. 17 different writers + Adelle (one example of many) does not equal lasting art.
There are days when this song is a life saver for me.
This song rarely gets any radio play, which makes no sense whatsoever. One of the Who's best songs.
The best post-Moon Who song.
It does on WMMR's(Philly) "A to Z".🥨

John Enthwistle was incredible, he hits all the notes
I mean Entwistle, sorry, typing isn’t one of my strengths

So many of Townsend’s compositions are so complex, songs that don’t jump out at you, but age like fine wine. Brilliant composer. Absolutely brilliant.

So much cool stuff going on in this tune … I love the lyrics but John’s bass lines are such a treat.
I over-reacted when this album came out back when. Now I see the truth in it. The band is in top form. Pete and Ox, in particular, top drawer. Roger, though, really shines. He gives probably one of the best vocal performances in rock history on this one. Trancendent, really. Fella.
+Tyler Thompson Yes ...great guitar playing .He never get's the credit his peers get
Tyler Thompson. Can only wonder how it would have been with Keith on drums. (Though straightforward tempos weren't really his thing.)
Tyler Thompson . I over-reacted too when this album was released in 1981 but I was only 19 then. You're right, this could very well be Roger's best vocal performance. Never thought about that before but it's possible.
Steve Thompson Rogers at his best on Quadrophenia
Fella!
"rock 'n roll will never die..." (Daultry, circa '76)
A total classic.
