  • With the release of X Plane 11.30 there comes a new setup to the controls. I take a look at how to reset my controllers in this video, taking you through the response curves, and exactly how they work and affect the way you use the flight simulator!

    Thanks for the tutorial. One essential point needs to be highlighted: how to change Interp Mode. Clicking on the title to the right of "Interp Mode" produces a drop-down menu listing Cubic at the bottom.

    Holy Cow, I just applied this to my brand new Honeycomb Yoke and before it was great but now it is just sublime. Tried the default Cessna and Aerobask E1000. Need to tweak the curves for my Zibo 737X & FF A320 & B757. The missing part for me was the extra point down at the low end. I definitely like the cubic curve the most.
    Thank you for sharing this with the community and greetings from an Expat in Canada

      I am really glad I could help! Enjoy the new feeling! I have refined mine a little recently, and have dfferent curves for each aircraft I fly. It really helps with the 'cheaper' hardware!

    Until recently, I never knew this was a thing. I watched many videos but noone had ever explained it as well, which confused me even more, until I stumbled across your video. You are extremely articulate and have a knack of explaining things so clearly. Thank you so much for your help and I look forward to watching all your other videos also. :)

    Thought this was useful. We really need a more detailed way to set these up with controls that use a detent.

      Glad it was useful to you. I do need to check the controls with a detent, since I have that and it would be handy for reverse thrust for example!

    I have xplane 11.55 and just installed xplane 12. Every flight stick or yoke reacts differently. Good tutorial. I have the Saitek Yoke. Not the Saitek Stick you have. Yours I believe you can do the yaw. I do not have Rutter pedals. just the yoke. One Question. On auto pilot, with Vertical Speed set only, does the Yoke for roll react the same? If I adjust the pitch on the yoke with auto pilot on, it will turn auto pilot off. As it should. Just adjust the trim. But the Cubic curve is great. Thank you for the articulate tutorial.

    • @ECGadget
      @ECGadget  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your kind words; I am glad the curve was useful. With regards to the autopilot, as long as a heading hold is not set the roll should work the same. In a light aircraft I would not personally recommend that way of flying though, because you will find yourself not lifting the nose when turning and geting a feel for how much you need to do that when turning the aircraft.

    Hello there, hope you are doing more than well; i have one question, what is the best xp11 control sensitivity to be close as a real flight, leave them as they are on the left 50 and right 30, or bring both of them all the way back to zero?

    • @ECGadget
      @ECGadget  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As close to real life for the sensitivity is zero - but then that lends to hardware that is of top quality.
      My apologies for a late reply - TH-cam would not let me respond to any comments!

    • @ECGadget
      @ECGadget  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You may need to rebind the controls for the elevator on your gamepad, then set up the curves again.

  • @BanditAviation
    @BanditAviation 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fantastic on the Roll! How do I do the same for Pitch? Did you do the video as well? My plane keep pitching up. No matter how low the thrust I go it keeps pitching up. The Joystick I use is the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. Could you do another Tutorial for Pitch?

    • @ECGadget
      @ECGadget  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That does not sound like a response curve issue. Either you need to recalibrate your stick, or you have applied far too much elevator trim and it is lifting the nose constantly that way

    Great video thanks for sharing very useful information . Do you have settings for rudder pedals as well? I've realised the plane tends to veer side to side on taxi or during takeoff. Also can you share your Xplane sensitivity settings sliders %. Thanks

    • @ECGadget
      @ECGadget  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      None for rudder pedals I am afraid! Sensitivity sliders I believe I have covered at one point, but still fine tune them and I am not happy with it altogether yet!

    hello, how are you?
    very good your video, I applied your configuration in my X52-Pro, I have rudder pedals ch products, please, do you happen to have any tips on how to configure the rudder yaw curve?
    I fly X-Plane11!
    Thank you for any help!!

    • @ECGadget
      @ECGadget  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not have any CH products, but I would personally leave the rudder pedals set to be completely linear, so a straight diagonal line! Hopefully that helps!

      So, a slight update. I tried out some rudder pedals, and what I would now advise is a slight deadzone in the middle if you find the pedals are light. Just to prevent unwanted wobble.

    Hello there. Do you know if we can fix the fact that the plane (and yours too) is constantly turning left ? It's very annoying =/ More over, when on ground, plane is always going left (or right), especially when having a prop plane. Any idea how to fix it? I've been looking for hours ..
    Thank you and sorry for my english :)

    • @ECGadget
      @ECGadget  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I believe you are describing is the natural tendency of the aircraft due to the propellor rotation. On the ground (in calm winds) you will notice it more when you takeoff. In the air, you will notice it in high power situation. As you ease off the power, the effect should subside. I find in XP11 it can be a little too pronounced, but it is something that can be dialled out in the air with some trim!
      It is the same reason that when you take a single prop into a stall, one wing will stall before the other

    • @alwayswonder
      @alwayswonder 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ECGadget Yes, in the air, but I can't even take off as it yaws so hard to the left I always end up in the grass. There must be some right rudder control as you would IRL, but how in xplane? Don't have yokes yet (the good ones are all sold out) so flying with the mouse.

    rudder issue: yaw axis and control work well But when i push on rgt pedal yaw axis moves rgt right pedal push axis in red and no movement of rudder axis. when with plane no movement of rudder when pushing on left pedal.

    Hi, my x Plane-11 is updated to the latest version. About two months ago, I bought a Logitech X-52 Pro, everything is ok ... but the image as in this video is not shown, how can I solve this problem? .... Thank you very much to those who can help me ... .

    • @ECGadget
      @ECGadget  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which image are you talking about? The actual Logitech controls?

    • @enricorasori1676
      @enricorasori1676 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ECGadget Yes, sorry ... this is the image of the joy and the trottle.
      With the Software provided by Logitech, in the Device Manager in Human Interface Device, the computer sees both as X52 Professional H.O.T.A.S. (HID) and X52 Professional H.O.T.A.S. (USB) consequently I renamed the two photos .png Also X-Plane sees them and names them like this
      .
      But you continually get "image not available" as opposed to inherent images there are far too many.
      However I managed to program it well, and it works great, there is only this anomaly that I don't understand, and then XPlane only loads .png images.
      I also tried creating an empty config folder. Joystick with only the files inherent to X-52 logitech with and without Saitek, but with no result.
