I bought a hawk 250 efi in 2020. Ended up cutting down the dirtbike hump on the seat putting oldschool leather on it. Swapping the front headlight/assembly for a round headlight off amazon. Put saddle bags/accesories. New battery. New clutch levers. New exhaust this will take knowing how to weld on newer hawks.new chain. Obviously new lube for everything ie oil. As well new tires and a wheel lock. This motorcycle has over 25k miles no problems on it. Ive riden legit everywhere in idaho on some of the nasty mosy bike dropping trails you can imagine. Not only does the hawk do it but i wish youtube would let me show a picture. With just these simple mods the hawk 250 looks like an old school retro cafe bike. I legit have yet to take this bike out to not have someone asking me questions on it. For only being maybe $2000 in with all mods idk pretty nice deal. My ducati monster obviously ripps more but sometimes you just want a pos that just works. The hawk 250 is that bike if you have some knowledge on how to work on things

The Chinese bikes are like the Japanese bikes were in the 70’s and 80’s. Everyone hated them because they weren’t mainstream. The Chinese bikes are really good for the price. I’m hoping they start to sell some 450cc - 600cc bikes.

It's true the 230 is a little lacking in power, especially for people who live in the mountains. I could definitely go for a hawk 300 - 600

Most of the China bikes are sold in Asia and South America. These markets are very different than the USA. 250cc is plenty large for those markets. So I don't expect to see much larger bikes coming out in volume from China. There are some larger China bikes out there, but really small volume. I have a Brozz 250cc, and love it.

I bought my son a XPro Storm DLX 150cc for Christmas. He really hasn't had time to ride it given school, illness and his work schedule. It runs good

The 2023 Hawk DLX and Hawk X DOT models have counterbalanced engines if you buy the RPS version. The Hawk X has a counterbalanced CG engine and is EPA approved for highway use. The XPRO may or may not be counterbalanced, and you can't tell until you remove it from the crate.

Chinese motorcycle need most bolts loosend and put Loctite on them so your bolts won't back out later down the road from the vibrations . iIt's also very important to Grease your Headset bearings,Rear shock linkage bearings,Swing arm bearings, F/R axles & wheel bearings. If you want your motorcycle to last more than 10 years

Did review. I have a 2020 Hawk pro DLX. Since I was just getting back into riding after 20 years off. It’s strong bike. It’s re taught me , son, daughter and nephew how to ride. 601 miles.

I started out looking at the Hawk because of the EFI and because you can plate it, I ended up with the X-Pro Templar X because it has a counter balanced actual 250cc motor with a 6 speed and fully adjustable suspension. The only downside is it's not fuel injected. It's been a few months now and my only regret is had I known I would have spent a little more and got the Orion RBX 250 H.O. which is about $3400 but has it all and it's quality: fully tuneable suspension, counterbalanced EFI 250cc 4 valve with a 6 speed, LED lighting all around, aluminum swingarm, billet aluminum triple clamps, a skid plate and handguards. The only thing it lacks that my bike has is a luggage rack and rear foot pegs otherwise really wishing I had known...😮

Lol I just bought a counterbalanced hawk yesterday because it was still carbed... I don't like having to get a vehicle computer reprogramming every time I mod it... and the newer hawk it's already got the sprocket and chain upgrades from txmoto and I payed about $1766 with shipping.

Love my hawk dlx. No comparison to any of the Japanese bikes. But man they have the looks down pat! Awesome looking machine.

Considering this DLX or the Brozz Recon....any thoughts on each? (Mainly road riding)

I can't really speak to the Brozz too much since I haven't been on one, but I've heard good things. It's seems to be about on par with the DLX it may just come down to which you think looks better. Be prepared to upgrade the sprockets if you're gonna do a lot of road riding.

I'm not sure. It came on after I did the first oil change, and I've repeatedly checked all the bolts. The oil level. Even changed the oil again since, and it's still on. I did hear some people have happen after doing general maintenance, and it just stays on.

your turn signal indicator/light indicator module should be to the left of the clutch lever. i made the same mistake when i put mine together. It does work the way you got it, but its alot better to have that turn indicator module to the left of the clutch lever.
