Nice, clear with easy to follow instructions. Thank you so much. Have a leak in my laundry room sink for over a year, with no know-how to fix, outside of calling a $$$ plumber.
Awesome! I'm the worst plumber I know. You're step by step helped me get past the 30yr old installation to get to taking the repair further, the easier part for me.
Thank you!! I have lived without a kitchen sink for almost 3 years because I was too scared to call a plumber as they are expensive, but also had no idea where to start. Wish I had found this video sooner, it’s much easier than I imagined! Thank you!!
Ya know, I can relate from fear as that’s stopped me many times but don’t feel like you can’t accomplish hard tasks! YT and a lot of cool guys from a hardware store down the road care and give great instructions, advice and warnings! Good for you fixing your sink
Thank you so much.....I fixed mine yesterday and it worked. I'm a single mom who is on a budget so this helped tremendously. It only cost me about $14. So once again thank you.
Thank you for that clear concise video! I'd been scratching my head trying to figure out what went in which order - now I know! Easy peasy! Thank you Dustin!
I appreciate your step by step instructions. I got down to tighten the kitchen sink fixture and discovered the leak this morning. I went to home depot and for $15 and this video, I was able to fix the issue. I'm as green as they come so this is a major compliment to your video. Thank you!
thats so awesome richard..the more intense the project, the bigger the savings! keep watching man and thank you so much. You're a success story for me!
You just brought my blood pressure down a few notches!!!!! I think I can actually do this!!!! Yes, 5 star rating! Great explanations and easy to follow.
Love the video! Really helped me and my brother out on how to fix his sink! Who knew it was so easy! Again thank you for the video and i look forward to seeing more from you
Thank you for making an easy to follow video that answered all my questions! 👍👍 Also thankful you actually edited it instead of filling repetitive stretches with LOUD New Age music! (As many others do🙄)
Very thorough explanation of each step. Nicely done. It seems too simple, but it is very important do each step correctly. And it's always nice when the speaker explains WHY it's important. :-)
3:15 the paper gasket keeps the rubber gasket from binding up when tightening... Thanks. I wasn't sure which order they went and less importantly, why, but that makes sense.
Thanks for one of the best how to vids I've seen in a while. I ran into a few hickups since my basket was almost 40 years old, but worked through it easily. great job and you're subscribed to.
Thank you for an informative without being condescending video. Your style of humor is outrageous. I can't decide if I'd call it "dry", but you had me laughing for sure. I'm pretty handy myself, but I guess I skipped Plumbers Putty day, so you know, thanks for saving me from that disaster. Fav line : "Give it a snug." I'll be stealing that, FYI. Lol
0:58 My first instinct would TOTALLY have been to dump it in the sink without even thinking. D'oh! Good thing I'm not living out in the wild, because apparently my instincts are crap. LOL
Another thing....Right side of sink leaked so I had a bucket underneath collecting. Realized as I took it out it too was leaking! Nice lil pond formed for I don’t know....maybe....1....2 years.
thanks for the help... I ended up having to buy the special wrench to remove the basket nut thing, it was on too tight and I really don't have a lot of tools but we managed to loosen it and follow your instructions. TYVM
hi nate! they do sell a wrench to loosen them for about 15 dollars, but a new basket strainer is about 10. i usually just swap out the basket anyway but you can also take a screw driver and hammer and tap it in the "loosening" direction. i hope this helps.
Thank you! Last night my Mom dumped gluten free spaghetti noodles (gluten free noodles are denser and not as soft or mushy!!!) down the drain and long story short and after a couple YT “how to” videos I had to remove the pea trap to relieve a tremendous clog she created. Anyways while down under my kitchen sink and by the disposal, I saw my other sink was leaking water above where the pea trap had been unscrewed and loosened. Turns out the under sink strainer had corroded and in a twisted fate, had completely failed when she was plunging both sinks. So water was everywhere but fortunately it happened while I was there and not found days later or something horrific like that. That’s when I found you! Btw the very last step (before you install your pea trap) when you screw the metal nut on to seal the strainer below… that didn’t work for me and the previous strainer (set up by a plumber I’m hoping) used a plastic nut that held it tight (till it failed) so after trying with the metal nut a few times I resulted in using the plastic nut which helped to seal up little spots of water that were forming around the metal nut. I’ve never used that word (nut) so many times. Anyways I think it’s because the pipe that connects to the strainer is at a slight angle from how the pipes were put together originally (not by me!!!) and that’s why this thinner metal nut didn’t hold as strong. I’m going to have my brother in law stop by and check out my “work” to be sure but thank you so much! You made the steps very easy to follow and in a calm manner when persons like myself don’t feel so calm lol, I really appreciate it! I definitely used plumbers putty and will be caulking with clear silicone around the drain up top to be extra sure water can’t leak through. If you read this and have any advise pls respond 👍🏼 Plumbing is probably the most intimidating besides using a table saw so advice is appreciated
Oh man jewdd. You rocked it!!! That sounded crazy but you managed to get it done then tell the story like you owned it. Great job. After you work on sinks and troubled drains, it gives you respect for the components and what can damage them. Thanks for the heads up about the gf noodles. Rice is also a bear. Thank you so much for sharing. So glad it helped you 💪🏼🛠❤️
Awesome thank you so much! Perfect on point & super easy and perfect to follow along! !! I'm a blonde and I even did this lol! So if I can do it trust me anyone can do it!!
Thanks Dustin for clearly showing every step. I thought the thing you called the "new washer" was just a packing part that was to be replaced by the new tail piece that I had to buy. I was getting a leak right there. I'll now go put that new washer in and hope for no leaks.
This video was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the worker at the hardware store didn’t tell me to grab putty, despite me telling him I need everything right down to the proper wrench. I used silicone instead. Should I consider going to grab putty and redoing it?
I’m gonna try, I’m old and not sure if I can sit on floor and reach but I’m gonna try. I have many more pipes than that, and what about the blue stuff you use to paint on the pvc threads? Course, that was back in the day. Thanks for the video, wish me luck, going to get the stuff👍
Thank you, appreciate for sharing. I have a standard kitchen strainer and purchased a new ones. But when I got home and opened them up, realized they were deep dish strainers. Would it throw everything off if I went ahead and installed? My first time 😮 trying this.
This was so helpful, because I bought all the other small parts! I thought I had to buy a whole new sink, my question is my cabinet is destroyed with mold, how do I remove just the cabinet without taking counter top off?
Hi ms momma! youre awesome! If your cabinet needs help after, here is a video below how to replace the floor in it. If you need the whole base cabinet its kind of like surgery but you can do it! I hope this helps and thanks for commenting! th-cam.com/video/A9voFRb7OVY/w-d-xo.html

Nate Gray hammer and a old chisel or Flathead screwdriver
Nate Gray you'll prob wanna replace the basket which comes with a new nut, gasket, and cardboard piece. I got mine for 10 bucks stainless steel.
