Hi , Im trying to restor my Citi Back to Factory, I cant seem to find the correct thermo switch for the radiator, at the moment my fan runs directly off the key , I have located the thermo switch cable , i just don't know which is the right one to get , my radiator has the port for the switch on the side of it , and the connector plug is right there , just need the switch itself, any ideas on which one i should get ? , the plug looks like a square but with rounded edges , like yours in the video
Hey everyone. I have prob with my golf chico 2007 model. It cranks up but doesn't idle so i tried feeding the carberator feul on in the carb from the pipe coming from the feul pump ,then idles until it dries up again. I have checked the feul filter ,Feul pump and separater but all that is in good condition. What can it be ?
I have a problem with my City Golf, I was checking coolant level and I found engine oil inside there on my expansion bottle, my car doesn't have an oil cooler (I think so) because I can only see filter housing only. But the problem is that it's not overheating and they redone the engine last year, the cars runs fine the performance is normal its not jerking and I didn't find or see any water contaminants on the Sump when I pulled the dip stick, and no water on the filler cap on top and the car is not smoking, it's idling nice there's even some tiny water 💦 coming out of the exhaust. Can it be that the head gasket is blown? Or I should flush the cooling system and see if there's any progress or just send the car to a mechanic to change the Head gasket?
Hi @pjs-golfmk1-diy I have the same motor as you and my fan doesn't go on when the water is hot. Water overflowing from the bottle when it overheats, my thermostat does open as I followed your steps to check, the bottom pipe from thermostat to radiator and it does get warm.I replaced radiator switch on side of radiator, replaced the small sensor under thick hose going from radiator to block and still nothing. When I take the two wires by the radiator switch off and put it together it kicks on my fan, but the fan doesn't go on when everything is connected. Temp gauge in car does also go up when the car gets hot.I connected both old and new radiator switch and put part of it in boiling water to see if it kicks on fan but that didnt also work.Fuses were also replaced.Can you perhaps advise on what else I can check please?
Maybe an airlock Did you bleed the cooling system when u refilled up with coolant ? Important to have the heater on hot when filling up coolant .then start engine to idle and allow the air bubbles to exit.

Think it's best to flush cooling system first

You need to look at things like your fuel pump ,and maybe your clutch is slipping
