I’ve been using Thunder. Max on my 07 Lowrider since 09 and it has been outstanding with mileage, power and smooth performance whether it’s at the beach or in the mountains with 50 + mpg on the highway . Without mileage concerns at the track I have made passes 6.8 sec/ 111 mph on the 1/8 mile and 10.7 sec /127. Mph on the 1/4 mile . You can check out a couple of videos that were posted a couple years ago on You tube on my channel and Cycle drag has had me and my me and my nephew in a few of his videos that he did with AHDRA and All Harley World Shootout. I have used thunderax on many other bikes . One 08 Roadglide that had spent many hours ona Dino with a power commander and a V/H fowl pack with sad results. The thundermax worked great
Nice I am doing the Harley route, if I was planning to break my warranty I would go this route most likely. If I do a Cam I am thinking of doing the SE 511 Cam in the CVO ST.
That 511 cam tested really well on a recent cam shootout. Moonshine said they were shocked at how good the Harley option was. And having that canned tune ready for it is sweet.
Don't consider it "done" with one autotune. I'm running a competitor's replacement ecu, and while the update process is quite a bit more hands on/involved, the bike gets incrementally more amazing to ride. Give it at least a few more goes, with varied riding in-between - mostly how you normally ride, but with some intentional mild lugging as well as fanging the beast to within an inch of its life thrown in for science's sake. Love your work.
I had Thundermax on my 2018 Tri Glide and it auto tuned all the time. When I turned the engine off and started it back up it made the adjustments. You shouldn't have to use your computer after the initial setup. It may be different on the newer bikes. I'd give Thundermax tech support a call , they were very helpful. It was especially helpful when I changed altitudes.
Best process is have it dyno tuned with the thundermax then have them set a window (usually 10% or something for the fueling) where the widebands can make real time adjustments based on ambient temps and barometric pressure etc so u have a professional tune but also it’ll adjust some as needed.
Would adding a thundermax, to a stock 114 engine help "fine tune" the bike, or does the bike need to have the enhancements, like yours? Trying to see what you think, is it worth the cost on a stock bike?
Every bike would benefit from a tune. From the factory they are set up to run lean for EPA reasons. Lean is hot, more vibration, and harder on the motor in general. It all depends on what you want to do in the long run. With a ThunderMax you're ready for anything and everything you could ever want to do to the bike, so I would say go for it.
The Reason you didnt see the changes is because you were on the 0 rpm map so no changes at 0 rpm... easier for newer people to use the analyzer to see the percentages of correction all on the same page before you run the automap...
It's the same basic concept but the ThunderMax is at a much higher level. ThunderMax replaces the ECM completely and uses wideband sensors to read the bike's needs.
Grrr... I did a Screamin Eagle tuner first to try it our for a basic pipes and air cleaner setup. It ran well, but when you go to a cam, etc. you need more. Also a tuner like this will get rid of "compliance" issues.
Oh pal - it’s the same here - hang on to your seat because it sucks and this lasts - it’s tore through our family Wishing you and family the best of health
I really enjoy watching your videos, only one thing i disagree with you about, I’m in the camp of duel exhaust look I know you probably get more power with the two and the one, but I just like the look of the dual exhaust. That’s all that’s my only complaint otherwise I enjoy your videos every day.
Hey Monk.. your right, thats pretty mind numbingly simple, i run a FP3 and it far more complicated then that, definitely Food for thought When I do the motor upgrade on the bike. So are we back to normal or are we supposed to insult the shit out of you again... 😂😂😂😂. Cheers from the Great White North.
Why not just buy a fast bike to begin with? H.D.'s are plenty fast enough for a heavyweight cruiser/tourer. The more you mess with the motor, the more trouble you will have.

Sounds amazing. Look forward to your first ride and results.
When I have used thundermax. I usually do a few soft runs and then do a few higher upper rpm’s runs as well and remap

Starts and runs a lot better. The power is very smooth and linear

I'm sure you're right. We'll do that in the future for sure.

What happens if one of the O2 sensors goes bad while riding will one cylinder go lean or does it just default to a base map?
Thundermax has been amazing
I'm putting a Thundermax in my RK when I do my cams. My exhaust even has the 18mm bungs already 😝
You won't regret it, it's a really cool system.
the Award Winning "money pit" aka Beautiful Loser.... oh wait... lmao
I thought that the Thundermax writes updates each time you turn the bike off?
It stores the learned values but doesn't automatically write them to the map.
It saves them but you have to plug it in to re-write.
How does the Thunder Max compare to the Dynojet PV
It's the same basic concept but the ThunderMax is at a much higher level. ThunderMax replaces the ECM completely and uses wideband sensors to read the bike's needs.
Thunder Max is supposed to be pretty bad ass, but I personally like the power vision better
Just install target tune wide band and thats it. Perfect running bike everytime @lonniedugan6120
@@lonniedugan6120 Thank you
@@ProfessionalMonkey My biggest problem is getting it to Ca I ride a 2017 RK stage 4
check out the graph heading, "at 0 rpm". ie: nothing to show when engine off . .
Would this void a warranty?
good job
Thanks
Is there an Apple version of this software??? in case, you know, those that dont like/have/want to get viruses from/Microsloth PCs?
@@charliefromnh7631 I hear it doesn’t work on a Mac.
did you have a Screaming Eagle Pro Street Tuner on your bike at first? I have the same bike only with black out as God intended

@@ProfessionalMonkey can that be used on a 2nd bike? I only changed the pipes and air cleaner on mine.
@@jamesbett4805 I don’t think so, it marries to the VIN. (The SE does, not the ThunderMax.)
@@ProfessionalMonkey Ok thanks. hope your feeling better

Appreciate that. Hope you and your family are well too.
I usually save my existing map before doing anything, just in case something goes haywire
“What else do I say?” Hello!!! How it rides. Lol I’m hesitant to do a tune bc I know nothing about any of it.

You could see it on the dyno but never feel HP loss while riding.
I have the exact cam chest in my rk. I run the Krome werks dominator w/louvered baffles and love it.

Let me start off by saying, I hope the wife feels better.
It's hard to tell by the vidio.
But it sounds the same.

Not really. Tuning is good for the motor.
It can not be that easy????
