I had an extended reach heated road sofa. Beautiful seat. Hard as granite. I gave it close to 10,000 miles to break in, and could never get comfortable on it. 30 minutes into a ride and my tailbone was killing me. Switched to a mustang. Pure comfort for miles and miles. 6+ hours into a ride the saddle easy.
@ I came from a victory cross country to my road glide and the one major difference was leg room. The road glide feels cramped when compared to the victory. Adding the extended reach seat gave me the leg room I was used too. I’ve since put 20k miles and that seat and love it.
I have the Corbin seat . Gave them my dimensions and good to go. Never have to break in and doesn’t sit you high in the bike. Has Saddleman seats before and had to break it in.
Had the saddleman sdc with back rest. One ride and I sent it back could not see why anyone would love that seat. Fast forward a year got a step up tuck n roll with John’s advice. And yes tuck n roll is the way to go. Love this seat
Totally agree with you. Got the road sofa last year on my CVO Road Glide ST. Chose it with the red stitching and logo. Looks amazing and super comfortable.
Road Sofa seat is comfortable in the middle but the sides lack sufficient support to resist crushing during long distance. If your butt fits within the stitched area, you may enjoy it. If you’re a bigger guy/gal & weigh enough, you’ll compress the sides during longer segments and the rubber bumper/frame underneath will dig into the back of your leg where the hip and leg joint is. Saddleman could probably shrink their marketing department thanks to the sales effort by Cycle Fanatix & others. Video would be better with less sales tactic and more other content…
Shoot i am 5,11” and use the extended reach i like laying back when I ride. I just wish I got the backrest seat. I wish they made all the seats with the back rest mounts in them then buy it later. Sucks having to buy a whole new seat.
Love the seat, but can’t deal with how high it sits. Pushes me up into turbulent wind, and makes me feel like i’m sitting on top of the bike instead of IN the bike. Can you request that Saddlemen make a Road Sofa variant that is the same as stock seat height?
I think Corbin makes one of the heated seats for Harley. Saddleman must love you John, what are you going to do with all the seats? LOL! Btw, garage looks great
really wish they'd come out with the "tour step up" with the backrest for the new models.. they had it for pre 2023, and they have the step up for the new models, but still waiting on the tour step up.. it's the best of both worlds.. someone with some reach needs to push them, i'm a nobody so the ai just says check back.. frustrating..
Hey John, love the videos man. I hope you can get out and ride on Monday! Asking someone about seats is almost like asking about what is the best oil to use. 🙂 I have heard great things about Saddlemen, Mustang and bad comments about both. This Road Sofa looks fantastic. Your link is about $100 cheaper. I just bought my 2024 RG and I am happy with the stock seat. If I get a new one, I will get one from your link! I am 5' 7" so I hope it doesn't sit you back to far for shorter riders?

Much better, the lepera kickflip.
I have the tail whip and I agree. Looks better too
I'm 5'8", and I love the extended-reach road sofa. I like the extra legroom, it gives you more of a stretched-out riding position.
Must be quite a reach for 5' 8" !

I also had a Victory, A XCT. Great bikes, and yeah, much more leg room. Took me a bit to get used to My New Street Glide but it's all good 👍
I got a Saddleman step up and it was hard as a brick for the first 4-5K miles. It's great now!!!

I like the Mustang seats never tried a Saddleman

Great vid, I just ordered myself a Saddlemen SDC tuck n roll seat for my 24 Road Glide with a backrest. Looking forward to it.
Spot on! I have both as well. Tuck n roll on breakout. Road sofa on street glide. ☁️ 💪🫡

I am really digging the new garage Sir,
I’ve got frame mounted highway pegs and they are a game changer compared to engine guard mounted .
I have the highway pegs but been debating on frame mount

Finally! I thought I was the only one. I 100% agree with you
Love My Saddlemen Road Sofa! So Comfy, smooths out the bumps in the road, quite amazing! 😃 But it definitely sits Me up higher by at least an inch
Yo yo yo John👊🏻👊🏻
👊
We need a link to get your slippers !

Have you ever considered a Saddlemen Domintor ?
Great video and review John!! I want to get out on two also!! Been cold like crazy up here in Massachusetts. Can't wait to get out brother 🇺🇸🤘🏻💯
I think harley needs to stop making seats and have saddleman seats come with the bikes.
😂
You could say that about quite a few things on a Harley. The suspension, the exhaust, a tuner, a stereo🤪
Intake manifolds, lifters.
That will be a $3,000 price increase Sir.
