- Not naturally aggressive, elephants will charge only when absolutely necessary, when feeling threatened. In male elephants, charging is a display of strength, and they will use any opportunity to mock-charge when wanting to show off.

To be honest, a baby elephant gets me scared. Not because it itself is scary but often the mom is right behind the baby.
Often you see the mum chilling in the background... Come on ele, you had your fun, now leave those tourist alone...
When a baby elephant charges we need to pretend and run away just so they think they are scary! When we really want to laugh and have fun and play with them!!! OMG!!!
Same! They would probably love to see that reaction.
Baby elephant: "I scary."
I was wondering about this, that would for sure help them thinking they are safe. But what about when they get older? Is it better to have them have a little bit of "fear of god" in them or is it better to just have human casualities? Neither of then is moving away where they live :D
A baby elephant is still extremely heavy.
In all honesty that's probably how you would play with them. If you ran up to them with your arms out they would probably back down and cower

Baby elephant: "Mommy! Those skinny trunkless creatures are making 'ha ha ha' noises. That means they're scared of me, right mommy?" Mother elephant: "Yes, dearest, but stay close to me so you don't frighten them too much."
I always picture them saying “raaawr!!” Like a toddler pretending to scare a grown up with their little hands like claws and their little battle cry! Lol

Even if you had never seen or heard of elephants before, you would still know they're toddlers ... Something goofy in their movements.

This is super cute cause the baby elephant is trying to be terrifying but ends up being too cute. The only reason why I would be scared is because the mom's somewhere nearby and she's someone you don't want to be on the wrong end of

While they are very cute and adorable, remember they are very heavy and powerful even as juveniles. They are capable of seriously injuring or killing someone even accidentally. Always respect wildlife.

Remember when we were little, and we were trying out our new thoughts and instincts, trying to be more grown up, because that was the world around us? We didn't like being laughed it.
Let me say this, IF a baby elephant were to really want to truck you, you're getting hit by the equivalent of a middle linebacker. You get hit by one of those yearlings, it's a defensive tackle. A full adolescent is an entire D-line. We think they're cute because we know they're just feeling their oats, but don't make one feel cornered and desperate. That will hurt.

They aren't far away. Not at all, so humans need to stay in the truck.

Not many people can see these animals. The only we see them away from Asia and Africa is in a zoo or rare sanctuary. They are usually adults there.
