I love how she tried the “Ok, I’m leaving without you” ploy
As well as "look to the other side! All those interesting trees"😂
“Junior, I’m leaving. The humans are going to take you and lock you up in a dark room if you don’t follow me.” 😂
And Junior didn't take the bait 😂
@@lolzmanytimeJunior's built different
@@thatpandaz6094 🤣 exactly!
This just shows how intelligent elephants are. She’s not acting aggressively towards the humans, because she knows they aren’t doing anything wrong or trying to harm her baby. She’s completely aware that its her baby just being a baby, and is therefore just trying to correct its behavior.
So many parents can learn from this😏

Every mom with a young one in tow, no matter the species. This baby is exceptionally adorable, but mom will be glad when he/she is down for the night. ❤
Yeah! He certainly is a handful/trunkful😄
Yep!!
No matter species, you are absolutely wrong then
@@Troyxxt Lol. Most people know absolutely nothing about the animal kingdom.
@@artificialhominid soon has this people learn about animals which kill their male partner after intercourse or eat their own babies or just give birth to their babies and leave them to die in wild just so they find new male to get pregnant. A lot of Humans falling in all this categories.
“Can you not” is apparently a universal mom experience
it's a universal thing that moms cannot control their kids.
"Junior, how many times have I told you wild humans are not toys?!"
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂. Ikr!
Aint that the truth
That's funny😅😂
"But Mom! It looks so cool! And I just wanna touch it please!"
No junior, it's Time for dinner, stop playing with your toys
The way mama lifted her trunk at the end as though to say "Sorry for the inconvenience" was so funny. And the baby is hyper cuuuuuuuute.
More like a threat display - don't follow us or you'll get some of this 😂
Thats not an elephant threat display, dude.
She is smelling her environment
@@mnomadvfx I thought stomping etc. is a threat display in elephants, not waving with their trunks?
I don't think trunks are used as a threat display at all
i dont think humanizing animals that much is the right call
Kids are kids in any species and so are moms.....in any species! Beyond adorable!
Mammals and birds maybe.
Completely agree!
doesn't apply to white females
Uh no, there are plenty of species that don't give a flying fuck about their offspring, it's a harsh world out there.
@@marianatrench1850what?
I like how mom waved as of apologizing for her kid as they left
She does!!! That's wild
I didn't even notice till you said it just now! Wow! 😮💚
Yo! I saw the exact same thing!
I do not know why people must always project their own feelings or perceptions into others, worse, here of an animal.
Its more like its making sure the car stays where it is, and the trunk moves in line with the elephants thoughts.
Such a responsible mom. God bless her and her baby.
Amen!
Yeah unlike human kids and their mothers
What does an imaginary Semitic God imported through invasions, war and colonialism have to do with it?
@fathomD you must have a great relationship with yours.
she was killed last month by elephant poachers :(
her baby was killed too :(
Notice the second elephant serving as a rear guard action, walking backwards to shield the baby while keeping an eye on the humans.
Yeah, that was probably a sister or an adult daughter of the mother, as those commonly help as babysitters. I would've suggested the mother's own mother or aunt as well, but I can't tell if she looks the right age.
Yeah you could see the bull. That was the last elephant you see. That's when I started getting worried. And yes I know it's the bull because you can see his testes
@@AdmiralStoicRum Male elephants have *internal* testicles, what you saw is almost certainly a female elephant's udder.
@@AdmiralStoicRumAnd furthermore, adult males are *never* part of an elephant herd, as they pose an active danger to the juveniles (they often resort to infanticide for the chance to mate with the mother).
@@MarqFJA87Yeah I was about to say. Most likely not a bull because usually it's the female elephants and the calves that move around in herds.
You can almost hear the mom say "I said don't touch that!"
"We need to go home now!" But mommy!"
Why did I hear that in the Clash of Clans witch voice? “Larry don’t touch that!”
Or Cam Newton’s voice saying “What I say???”
Mom: "Leave the hoomans alone"
Baby: "But I love the strange metal elephant they're riding in"
Mother elephant: "Sorry folks, you know how kids are"😅
Safari group, terrified: "oh yeah, no problem"😰
Mother Elephant: “This is so embarrassing. Junior! Stop messing with those poor people. I’m so sorry this won’t happen again.”
I can just imagine an older Mom saying “ welcome to Motherhood, Dearie”❤❤
Poor❌ Dangerous✅
😂😂😂
did not hear that 🤔
😂😂😂
Babies will be babies, lol. That "thank you and I apologize" wave after she finally got the baby away tho.... Thanks for sharing! 😍😍❤❤
I’ve had the privilege of elephant encounters in Africa. They are the most humbling experiences ever! When an elephant can easily topple the vehicle over but did not these creatures became easily my favorite with much love and respect. Magical moments always in my heart. ❤🐘❤️
❤❤❤
I would say that with all animals, if you give them space, they'll leave you alone.
Well they still kill way more humans per year than lions do.
Where in Africa?
Ellies are not found in ALL countries in Africa.
It's like saying I encountered bears in Europe, or tigers in Asia.
Why does it matter?@@TheTataNini
No matter the species, a good Mom not only loves her baby, she protects and teaches them.
That's a nice sentiment, but it's not true unfortunately
@@UKeXtremeMediaThe commenter said: "A good Mom..."
Hey someone who put the distinction between a mom and a good mom good on you
@@2EKgn16 The other guy is correct mainly because in quite a few species it's the dad who takes care of the kids and looks after them, or sometimes even gives birth to them.
What's an absolute, precious and beautiful encounter experience that would have been.❤️
I love how the other elephants started to protectively pile around just in case something kicked off. That last.one backing up while still watching the bus was the one who will give you that work.❤
lol... I noticed that too. the safari people really handled this situation well. Just sit back, do not move the car, and enjoy the experience in Africa.
Yeah, that one act like security guard. I can feel it saying "clear, you can pass now"
Yes! She made eye contact at the end. So amazing!
Absolutely MAJESTIC aren't they?
Agree. They are Majestic and cute at the same time. Especially the little one
Gentle giants! So loving, so magnificent and so very intelligent!
Yess
Absolutely
Was that a wave goodbye at the end? That was a damn wave if I’ve ever seen one, almost like an embarrassed mom waving as if to say “Thank you for being so patient and kind with this rascal”
I've seen such gesture twice before this video. In one instance, the cars stopped while a group of elephants were crossing the road. The last elephant waved its trunk towards the cars before moving on and joining its group. In another instance a small elephant fell inside a digged hole...and the people got it out with some heavy machinery. Before leaving with its child, it waved towards the people and left...so ya, probably it's their gesture of thanking.
Knowing how emotionally smart elephants are, I would be extremely surprised to learn they don't have some kind of gesture of gratitude and seeing as this is not the only situation that I've seen or heard of, we're a very similar gesture was displayed. That may just be it
i like the part where the mother turns around like she is about to leave
to trigger the calf's instinct
to follower her....
but the little dude is too wrapped up
with his new found toy car.
Mothers instinctively always try that. But also, that hardly ever works when toddlers want to be naughty. Universal.
I chuckled upon reading “toy car”. 😆😆
"It is important that they stay still" literally one second later shows a man getting the best shot possible for social media.
That meant "no screaming, no waving, no tapping on the car" etc. Slow movements are allowed, and they are used to cameras.
Also, many people won't be able to see this by themselves. It's nice that people spread this view to everybody. I wish I could go there and do a safari one day, but as a minimum wage worker, I highly doubt I'll ever be able to afford it. So thanks to the people who allows me to live this through a screen. (with no VR or AI... just a lens and a microphone. This said, that music spoils the moment...)
That's a woman 😂
How do you know ?@@mechanikalbull5626
Baby elephants are so cute!
I love elephants!
💜🐘💜🐘
all babies, calfs, kittens, pups, cubs etc are cute... Unfortunately they all one time or another become "teens" and then (more or less) adults....
Wow the look in the mothers eye’s you can see everything she’s processing using her intelligence and intuition. Such majestic creatures 🥲🐘
Wow!!! Amazing! What a loving and gentle mother she is to her sweet baby! 😊💖🙏🐘
Thank you for being so respectful to the family and sharing this with us.
I'm so glad this had a happy outcome! Typical curious baby and calm, protective but strict Mama. Kudos to the safari vehicle passengers for doing exactly the right thing; sitting quietly and calmly. 👏👏👏❤️🐘❤️🙏🙏
Yes; the temptation to pat the calf on the head must have been strong, but mama definitely would not have liked that. When tourists go to observe wild mountain gorillas the same rule applies; even if curious young gorillas come right up to them and touch them, they must never touch them back.
Yellowstone tourist could learn a thing or two
The person filming done a good job at capturing this little bugger and his innocence along with a mum being a mum. I would have loved to witness this in person. Magnificent creatures, they really are. Thanks for sharing. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
My heart would have been beating right out of my chest. What a fantastic experience! Truly, once in a lifetime!!
It also shows that children, no matter what species, love to explore and drive their mamas to the brink!😅
WOW she waves to the humans like "sorry about this"!!! at 1:45
OMG That's amazing!!!
So sweet!! The way the mother keeps trying to use her trunk to stop her calf from going too near and the calf keeps defying his mom!! Adorable!! So glad it ended well for all!! 🐘😻❤️❤️❤️

I love that at some point the baby’s mom goes to get her mother because she needs backup. That’s when you see the other adults standing in front of the vehicle to monitor the situation. We’ve all heard that conversation before.
“Mom! Help! He won’t listen and there’s people here…!”
“Listen to your mom baby. Stop playing with the animals. It’s time to go.”
“But-but-but…Eh Nnn…”
“Let’s go. Time to go.”
That is so cute.
This is the equivalent of a toddler in checkout line at any grocery store.
At last the mother raised her trunk and expressed her gratitude❤😊
All elephants must be loved and protected ❤❤❤
Wow! I didn't know that elephants were that intelligent, indeed, they're super creatures.lots of respect for the mother.
OH MY GOD…..
That’s about all I could manage!!!! Talk about a close encounter of the most incredibly wonderful kind‼️
One of the best elephant videos ever! That little guy is a handful! And she’s a great Mom!
As curious and wild as a human child. Children are children no matter what species. It's a pity that he should actually stay away from people because many are dangerous 😞 a child should be able to discover the world and be protected by everyone, whether his own child or the child of someone else, whether human or animal ❤
Ty young lady, think you summed it up very nicely ❤
I completely agree with you! It's such a shame that he couldn't say hello to those in the safari jeep and vice a versa. Of course, I understand why but it is still a shame.
His mom was only trying to protect him and do what is/was best for him.
Yes, every human child should be allowed to play with grey wolves, honey badgers, scorpions and great white sharks if they want to…
We're a danger to each other's species but yeah.
Toddler elephants are very cute !
For such a big animal she is so gentle.Lucky little baby elephant!
I'm full of emotions, how much respect have elephants and this mama has all the reasons to be worried.
Luckily these human beings are people like me that look Nature with great respect and love ❤
That was so fascinating to see. Just like a curious stubborn little toddler is right. Parents everywhere can relate to that mama elephant.
Absolutely!
I love how that little trunk waves at the end was like sorry sorry my kids still learning
The other elephants went over to help Mom!! ❤❤❤😍🥰😍 reminded me of when I had to help my mom with my little sister when she would run around lol
The POWER in that mother's trunk is UNBELIEVABLY SCARILY STRONG!!!
I personally experienced it from a BULL MALE ele at Knysna Elephant Park...
I had some peanuts in my pocket and he put his trunk around my middle and pulled me closer (the Xhosa Safari Guard immediately reacted and pulled it back...
I will never forget the experience... The absolute strength...and it was done in a quiet mild manner... Imagine an angry situation... Would be terrifying...
Beautiful sentient beings...
Experience of a lifetime. I love the mother elephant's politeness and gentleness ❤❤❤
How wonderful and what smart and lovely creatures elephants are!❤
What an absolute privilege to see these beauties showing these people grace ❤❤
But the mom knows as long as the human creatures are covering their faces with the funny device in their hands, they're harmless...
Watching the way these elephants behave, it's very clear that they know not all humans are kind, but it's also quite obvious that they are aware some humans are helpful or just want to see things and have nothing to do with what this baby is doing, I'm willing to bet a lot of money those elephants were ready to roll that jeep if they felt it was necessary, but the phone moving around recording things is probably something they've seen a thousand times so they felt no threat from it
What a beautiful experience to be that close to elephants.
Beautiful Mama beautiful baby
What a intelligence, what a caring, what a mothers love, mother nature loves all creatures equal also humans.
"Don't touch that, you don't know where it's been.... DON'T PUT IN IN YOUR MOUTH"
What beautiful and majestic animals they are!
Momma; no, no, baby; they have germs! Stay away!😅
Sadly I wish that was the worry and not poachers 😢
GOD they're intelligent! That wave was 100% on purposes, even following up with a few pats on the baby's butt to keep moving.
too adorable!
Speechless ❤
The younger one is just like a kid and Mother is just as mature and patient 🙏🏼
