    Looking at buying one as a secondary camera to go along side my 6d, how do you set autofocus and are there any issues with the camera itself?

    • @TeddyJuras

      Autofocus is always on. Camera is a bit loud but other than that it’s a very popular 35mm film camera!

    Hi, if i couldn’t remember which roll did i use and how many exposures. Is there any way to check without open it? Causw i know the other cameras allow you to see it at the back of the camera. TIA

    • @TeddyJuras

      You can shoot the entire roll of film and the camera will rewind automatically so you don’t need to figure out how many are left. Does this help? 👍

    Hey there! What batteries would you recommend? I bought this camera probably 2 months ago and I don’t know if I can leave the batteries inside or every time I finish using it I have to take them off, I have had to change the batteries 3 times in 2 months :( I don’t know if it’s actually a problem of the camera I bought

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yikes! I just use standard AA batteries. These cameras are so old I’d imagine it’s pretty common for them to drain the battery just sitting. Maybe try rechargeable so you don’t have to keep purchasing new ones?

    A lot of my photos came out blurry and unfocused when I developed my film on this camera. Any tips? Also what are the settings for on the lens (it ranges from 25-100)

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! Could be bad autofocus function on camera. The settings should range more like 25-800? I don’t have one of these in front of me but that is the iso/asa setting. You match the camera to the speed of your film you are shooting. Kodak 200 you would set camera to 200. Hope this helps!

    Hey I bought one of these from goodwill, the shutter works, but the winding sounds sluggish. The battery terminal had some corrosion that I cleaned, but to me it feels like the camera can’t get enough power from the batteries?

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Beyond cleaning it really good with white vinegar you can try pulling the battery contacts up to make sure getting full contact. I actually use a dental pick for this. Lol. Otherwise replacing battery contact might help. Let me know how it goes.

      @TeddyJuras  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question. I think best thing to do for this one is to remove the aa batteries before stowing. You will avoid misfires and prevent any kind of corrosion should you leave it sitting for any length of time. 👍

    Will the shot number advance on the frame counter even if the film is not loaded correctly? I am afraid that the gears didn't fully catch when I loaded a roll, but the film number is advancing with each shot so it might be ok?

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It might advance even if film doesn’t catch. I’m not 100% sure on this model though sorry. Let me know what you find out!

    • @nitten13
      @nitten13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a film advance indicator on the back of this camera. See that little window on the back of the camera with red and white diagonal lines? if that moves when you take a shot or rewind the film, it's a surefire that the film is moving. If it's not moving you'll have to open the camera in a dark bag and check what's wrong with your hands.

    Hey there! Is there a way to check if the film is properly loaded? I've several blank rolls :(

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh no! Not that this brings back your lost investment in wasted film due to camera issues… but I recommend using a dummy roll and getting a film retriever to pull film from canister. You can then open the back door and fire off some shots to see if it’s advancing properly. Other thing to check is if the shutter is opening and closing. Those should help determine why you’re getting blanks. 👍

    • @nitten13
      @nitten13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      See that little window on back with red/white diagonal lines? if it moves when you fire a shot the film is loaded and advancing. if not you'll have to check the film in total darkness to see what's wrong.

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome thanks for sharing Russ! Also if you are getting blank rolls… check to make sure the shutter in the lens is opening and closing. Film could be advancing… and shutter is stuck. 👎

    • @TeddyJuras

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First time using it? Or has it been sitting? Try some white vinegar on the battery contacts. Also gently pry up the metal tabs on bottom to make sure making full contact. Otherwise just could be dead camera. These 80s canon cameras don’t have a great track record due to corrosion and can go bad quick. Let me know if you get it working!

    Hi. Love the video but love how the comment section has become such a community forum for this little cam.
    I was wondering whether I would be the only one with this question since I haven’t found any in other platform,
    I want to make it a habit to take off batt after shooting. But funny thing is, if my last shot was using the flash; the orange light indicator will stay ON eventho I slide my flash back in. This won’t be gone even when I unplugged the batteries. The only way to turn it OFF is to take another shot.
    Does anybody else experience this quirk with their AF35M? And like any other old machine owner I feel like I have to ask this question “is there any way to cheat and work around it?”

    • @TeddyJuras

    How to turn off the camera?

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically there isn’t a way to turn off this camera. If you won’t be using it for any length of time it’s a good habit to remove the batteries cause the cameras are notorious for battery corrosion.

      @@TeddyJurashey teddy , if I have taken some photos already and remove the battery will this affect shooting the rest of the roll after I put the batteries back in?

    • @TeddyJuras
      @TeddyJuras  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. It should not. This camera doesn’t automatically load film so it will not advance your roll. When you put batteries back in nothing happens. That would be the only risk of taking a battery out of a different camera with film inside… the film advances.👍
