Awesome. You have two hands running around the fretboard like if it was a keyboard. A sensitivity to giving each note it's worth is felt. This is classical electric guitar solo. A new concept for me.
I am without adequate words to describe the emotional impact your playing has. I felt transported to a different time and place. Listening to you play is a transcendental experience. I can't thank you enough for sharing your talent with the world.
This young person is light years above every other guitarist. Why is he not a household word? BTW, I started playing in 1958. I thought I had heard everything. I am stunned!
well arranged, excellent dynamics, extreme techniques, just can't believe that such a gorgeous classical piece could be performed in such an unimaginable way on electric guitar.
Man ima be real i judged the cover and thought it would be a metal cliche sweeping version, but man i am at loss for words. This really is amazing, your tone, your phrasing, your clarity, each a different marvel. As one musician to another im just astounded at how well you capture the serenity and evocative passion that debussy meant for this piece to have.
Hi Paul, just wanted to thank you for this amazing performance- it's completely unique and authentically arranged by you in its own right, yet still retains the core essence of what makes a piece recognizable as Debussy's. It is said that the beauty of music is one that stands the test of time, cemented in the sands of time, and no doubt will your contributions to the popularity of classical music in the modern era be appreciated by most, if not all classical music lovers. Keep classical music alive and relevant!
Thank you so much Michael, I really appreciate your kind words. I've been a huge fan of Debussy since childhood, so remaining true to the essence of these piece is always my goal.
Lovely. First heard it played with 'modern' instruments when Isao Tomita produced Snowflakes are Dancing in 1974. All done on synthesizers which was amazing back then. To see you master this on a fret board two handed is captivating. As a clumsy strummer of a guitarist myself, this is awesome! Thank you.
This is absolutely fantastic. I think Debussy would have loved this, like you stayed in his vibe but in a new way. A great way to rediscover classical music. Thank you ♥️
Just... Wow! Nearly forty five years ago I was enchanted by this song. I've just heard a new interpretation that has reinforced that feeling of enchantment all over again. Thank you! 💖
Thanks so much John, so pleased you enjoyed it. I also vividly remember the magical effect this piece had on me when I first heard it. Such special music.
saw you Fri night with Carl Palmer in Erie, PA. I was brought to tears when you did this beautiful song. I have prev. loved and listened to this piece! I want to hear you play again!
i remember hearing you play this at the Carl Palmer Steve Hackett ELP Tribute Concert Miami FL 2016 was very new to me at the time to hear this piece on electric guitar. Outstanding performance!
I personally prefer more quiet version of Clair de lune, but your Arabesque no.1 is really really insane. You just nailed every part of it. 0:18 is my favorite. The left and right hands run totally different. I saw some of classical guitar versions before, because it is my dream to run the arabesque on guitar someday, but you are the best. You almost make me to back to electric guitar again. Amazing.
Dude that is like my guitar goals to play like that. Every well done.i’ve just started playing guitar and this really inspires me.keep up the great work
One of those performances where, regardless of your technicaility, the sheer enoyability of this virtuosity forces your mind back to the holistic appreciation of the art(s) invovled. Crazy fuckin good man, well done
Haha thanks Charlie. This was recorded in sync with a silent movie (the silent movie video is elsewhere on my channel), which is why I'm looking so intently the screen ahead of me!
Wow,I'm just in awe! My favorite song of many decades is Arabesque. Never saw anyone play guitar like you. Like a piano. Don't know why I never heard of you and wonder why you don't have much more followers. You're way above the rest. Thanks for doing this. The world is better with you in it. My world is now much better because of hearing you and your talent.
Just beautiful!!! Love your choice of Claude Debussy. I love that composer, and your translations of his work. Have you heard, Tomita's. Snow Flakes Are Dancing?? Just a brilliant performance!!!!!!
You are a genius player, how come I had never heard about you before? Well, I know it was your Midi Guitar 2 video but OMG your chops are amazing. Congratulations!!!!
Very impressive tapping technique bro, my tapping is not equal to this. Today ive learned something, I still have to work harder on it :) Thx for inspireing me. Go on like this!!!
Was listening to the Isao recordings and thought I would grab the music to see if putting it to guitar was possible - found you, put the music down and thoroughly enjoyed the pieces you have done and will forget any attempt to do it. Great stuff
Thanks so much Johnson. Tomita was a huge influence for my Debussy arrangements. I now play them on an archtop triggering synth sounds via midi - adds a new depth and makes more Tomita-like. I've yet to record them properly, but will get round to it soon.
Hi there. Amazing work; this is a monumental piece! I am curious to what effect you have on that make the reverb/octave up sound for the first three minutes (before "the bubbly" effect sets in)?
I LOVE this so much!!!!! You had me at Clair de Lune! I think I just saw you recommended in Needy's live? New sub! Beautiful work! They way you took Clair de Lune to a wonderful place. I LOVE different! And this was so so awesome!
@@santiagosolis4621 you heard any of Tomita’s synth arrangements of Debussy? That’s who I took the inspiration for the synth-like sounds from. If you’ve not heard then check them out. Amazing!
It's a while since I recorded this, but listening to it now, it doesn't sound like there's a compressor on there. I'm guessing I used a Pigtronix Class-A-Boost (a clean boost) pedal. I don't really like the snap of a compressor on clean sounds like this, but a couple of years ago I discovered the EGO compressor from Wampler - it has a blend control, so you can get the sustain of a compressor without the nasty snap - sounds much more natural for this style. That's now my go-to pedal for clean tapping, and as you say, it allows for dynamics.
this is so so impressive :O and heartfelt. only thing I would say is the backing sounds get a bit too much at times, could do with only being brought in at particularly emotive moments, rather than being on all the time. And the main tapping could do with being less compressed, at the moment its very expressive, but all at one volume, which loses some of the emotion of the piano part. It would be better just being solo tapping, with a bit of reverb, and more dynamic range, and the backing part only being brought in sparingly. Ofc this is all just personal taste, and im insanely jealous. Great work either way.
Awesome. You have two hands running around the fretboard like if it was a keyboard. A sensitivity to giving each note it's worth is felt. This is classical electric guitar solo. A new concept for me.

Spectacular! I'm a 76-year old guitarist (old rocker) and am blown away by your talent!
Thanks so much Norman :)
That Arabesque Opening 💖 this is beautiful!

The tone of this guitar versus the PRS is indescribably better in every way imaginable.
sourcescience thanks very much, I COMPLETELY agree. The PRS entered retirement the day I got this guitar!

Hi there. Amazing work; this is a monumental piece! I am curious to what effect you have on that make the reverb/octave up sound for the first three minutes (before "the bubbly" effect sets in)?
