This happened over 7 years ago. It would be good to have updates on some of these people. Did they ever make it? Does it really help to show really old videos? I understand it's important for views in the world of TH-cam, but is it more helpful to update some of these cases? I read the notes with these videos and I often wondered what happened to these people? Should there be more of a focus on current situations? I know that it's important to shine a light on the problem of homelessness and advocate for change, but on the meantime, it's a vast world and many people would like to help directly in some way. And the people profiled in these videos look like they could use it. Anyway thanks for all you do. Stay well.
I agree. Not every homeless person is an angel who fell on hard times.....some are, sure. But it's disingenuous to say "this could happen to any of us". Because that simply isn't true. Not a popular opinion but I have to say it.
@@TANQ31 given the right set of unfortunate circumstances it could happen to 90% of us. While I agree a lot of homelessness is self inflicted, there are also a lot who experienced events that pushed them into it. I remember years ago getting the flu for a week that morphed into an autoimmune issue with unbearable pain so bad that I was unable to work and have to take a prescribed narcotic drug just to get by. After a month my company shifted me from sick leave to disability, I remember my first weekly disability check which was about 1/10 of my rent! Fortunately I’ve always been a good saver so I was able to continue rent, but if that event had happened earlier in my career before I could save up money I could have been out on the street.

It's not possible to be pro-America and anti-American, no matter how hard one tries to twist the discussion. If we don't start standing with those in need, we're not worth anything ourselves.
It is. There is America the government. And then there is America, the people. So many people risk their lives to come to this country. They give everything. They serve in our armed forces. No country is perfect, because it's made up of made up of human beings--some better than others. The only thing that I can say is that Americans should get up on Election Day, and go and vote. We have to stand together, or we will surely fall apart. And this is no kumbaya type of thing. We have to be strong as a country to survive.
Agree. What the better-of can't comprehend: Not everyone can work, due to health or circumstances, and there simply aren't jobs for all who need one NOW. Millions are a single job loss from losing everything. You can't then get a job without a home address, phone, bus fare.
Possibly. Since Reagan, govt has redistributed several trillion dollars upward, mainly to corporations, which continue to use this money to build factories and offices outside the US, shipping out our jobs, causing more US poverty. This puts pressure on remaining workers, forcing them to accept shrinking wages, thereby maximizing profits for the richest few. If you want your former job, you will probably have to go to Somalia,Mexico, etc., to find it.
I live in Minnesota myself and I cannot imagine being homeless in this state. I "couch surfed" for a short time years ago and if it wasn't for my family I could be on that street as well. The church's do a wonderful job helping many as well. You do such great work Mark! I wish I could help "Invisible People" more than i am able to.

I guess I just get upset because I never flew a sign. Cold starving and unable to shower is truly invisible. I hope no one dies in this cold weather were having now.
People don't realize that they are basically one paycheck, one major illness or injury, or disaster away from being homeless. Those who have had criminals steal their money and home's their lives. My husband and I were physically blocked from entering a Surgeon's office in the United States in the past few months. 5 people in police uniforms! I sent the Doctor's information & the initial diagnosis of the need of a Surgeon Internationally. Yes, I have 2 name's & a Badge number out of the 5. However, we had been warned about fake police officers in that area/uniformed, Badges & vehicles with decals of law enforcement. Yes, law enforcement are victim's of Identity Theft too. Somebody had a problem. We've been threatened to be shot & killed in the past few months in the United States. I also sent that information Internationally. A woman from another country was shot down & killed by a police officer there. The Victims family doesn't understand & we don't either/We're prior Federal Employees! We asked for the criminal's living in my husband's house to be arrested and they were aided & abetted. His first wife can't be located. We asked for the criminal's living in a DEAD loved ones home to be arrested and they didn't. Our insurance company thought we had a new pickup truck/where's it at? So, who's in your neighborhood? My husband's Aunt is DEAD & never lived in Florida or Lake Zurich Illinois & I really don't care how old the woman is arrest her! The victim is deceased. One of the criminal's using my husband's name is also claims to be from his home town and show's up in a $700,000 neighborhood.... no relation what so ever.....a criminal..... we have many deceased loved ones & missing...... It's absolutely horrifying! We have people who decided that they made themselves part of the family & the real ones are missing, Dead or never existed.....We didn't know but Minnesota USA other than having Mayo Clinic medical center also has a Maximum Security Prison & another smaller Prison.
