Roy you're right, we are all human and deserve to be treated with respect. I hope people see your interview and change their minds about the way they treat the homeless. Best wishes to you.
Yo man, I’d give my life for my parents. They’ve kept me under their roof since my existence and I can’t even think about pushing them to a side to fend for themselves when they get older. Our society is fucked.
I recently discovered your videos and they are fascinating. Some make me feel more sympathy than others. This one makes me feel a lot of sympathy for this man. He's not a bum or a drug addict, worked 21 years at one company, lost his job through no fault of his own... I am wondering if he can't rent a room for 500 per month. But then of course how can he come up with the deposit and down payment? Also, tiny houses are the wave of the future. All a person needs is a bed, bathroom and kitchen to live comfortably single. On person doesn't need a ton of space. I wish, in America especially, that the government would build tiny houses for the homeless. There's no reason for good people to be out on the street like this. BTW... my mother only gets $800 per month in social security. This man gets $1000. Thank God she lives with her sister and they split the bills, also her house is paid off. But unlike this sweet man's horrible children, I would take in my mother in a heartbeat. I would never allow my mom or dad to be homeless. But a lot of children don't value their parents when they're older and discard them as this sweet man's children have abandoned him. So very sad. I count my blessings more thanks to this channel.
He's in Canada, But here you can pay into Social Security and depending on the job, you get a pension or a 401K retirement fund. I get a Pension and Social Security. My wife will get her Pension and Social Security. Previously my wife worked 19 years for Corning and accumulated over $100,000 from various 401 k portfolio investments.
Obviously you are clueless as to why people have to work 3 jobs. Clue number 1 is, It isn't because of Reaganomics(Capitalism). Jimmy Carter shut down the Auto Industry, Oil Industry, Farming and Steel Industry. Millions lost union related jobs which led to Farm Aid and the largest homeless population since Roosevelt's depression. Once BJ Clinton signed NAFTA, almost immediately our clothing and furniture industries took more union jobs to Mexico. Clinton signed the China Trade Act which devastated our economy. Now Barack Obama told you those jobs are never coming back. This is the New Normal. You didn't Build that. Barack closed down 750 Dodge Dealerships And sold off people's stock investments into the Auto Industry to China. Very Bad Trade Deals are why people are working 3 jobs. Who's fighting against Trump to keep those bad trade deals in 3rd World Socialist Dictatorships unimpeded by EPA, OSHA, Human Rights or threat of Union Contract?? a)Chuckie Schumer, the Democrats and the Very Fake News Media!!!
So true. We are all human and should be treated with respect. All people should have access to a roof over their heads and fresh water. And food. No matter what.

No one needs a constant reminder....from judgement people not walking in their shoes...
It's the same here in the UK. That's neoliberalism for you. They don't build social housing, house prices rise and rise. The casino banks make money off gambling against them as assets, the rich buy them up and rent them out, getting richer.
I'm against homelessness completely but you can have shelter if your income is 1000 a month. Even if you only have two or three hundred after rent. You can get help from food banks. I hope he does get shelter and I really hope he can reconnect with his children.
He doesn’t need to be part of any society. He just needs to get his own place so he can do what makes him happy and be true to himself! He raised 3 kids and they aren’t helping him.....wtf. Homeless for ten years. I’m not judging him One bit but I have a feeling he’s addict. Takes a recovering one to know one. He should have a huge lawsuit for his hand......that’s unacceptable! It’s been four years. I prey he’s living indoors and talks to his kids. God forgive us for the filthy greed and corruption in great Countries like Canada and the USA.
How is Canadá's system regarding shelters and subdisized housing, heard it was good, besides having their universal health care, so why are there people on the streets? Drugs, crime oriented, mental health issues...?
I was homeless in London. Stayed at the Men's mission and old Sally Ann. Got into subsidized housing and I'm still here over 13 years. When you're homeless here they fast track you into subsidized housing....If you want it...A lot of drugs and violence here though. I pay $139.00 per month for a 1 bedroom apartment so I'll be staying put.
I got five adult kids and don't depend on any of then. I trust no one and depend only on myself. I'm 88 years old and live alone, and when it comes time when I can't live independently, its time to pull the plug. I led a full life and have no complaints, except that my country, which I help to build, is going down hill fast.
This is stupid. Why are his kids not helping him?? If the doctors messed his hand up, that is a malpractice suit. Also working 21 years at his job, where is his 401k money and savings? Also he gets 1k a month. There should be some type of government housing he can get into, or a cheap hotel.
That is the system we are losing the fight against. The inevitable end of human kind. We thrive on one another. Human Nature. Take from others to gain for ourselves. To the point where there is nothing left but a fat king on top of his throne while all others live in misery. The fall of Rome. People will always rebel, trick them as much as you may even the stupid become aware of abuse after time.
21 years to plan and put back money for retirement. My uncle retired from GM after 25 years and live rather nicely. They’re paid at these plants very well and well above minimum wage. Great benefits. His situation ,if the truth was to be known ,is his own fault

This man speaks the truth about societies in general no matter what country you live in. The story's the same.
So in America if you go to work for 21 years and try your best you still have a huge chance of being homeless when you're older and disabled.
He's in Canada, But here you can pay into Social Security and depending on the job, you get a pension or a 401K retirement fund. I get a Pension and Social Security. Unknown Youknow if you work for 21 years and spend everything you made and then some.
There are not many places now a days who give pensions. You worked when times were good.
If someone works somewhere for 21 years and has no savings, they are retarded. Where is his 401k money?

high rent is a big issue for sure if your living on 1000$ . you either got to do shared accomodation and that sucks , or pay 80% of your money on rent
Yes. Money is rapidly losing its value. The fact that $1000 is not worth shit is scary.

How is Canadá's system regarding shelters and subdisized housing, heard it was good, besides having their universal health care, so why are there people on the streets? Drugs, crime oriented, mental health issues...?
Because of crony capitalism just like here in the USA, 40% of the population is homeless.
I was homeless in London. Stayed at the Men's mission and old Sally Ann. Got into subsidized housing and I'm still here over 13 years.
