  • If your handheld Zebra label printer is skipping multiple labels when printing, there are three things you can try to fix it. These printers use a sensor to determine the gaps or breaks between labels.
First, you can try to recalibrate the sensors. On the main menu go to Sensors, Label Length Calibration and press Start. Device will automatically detect the length of the labels, print out two labels and then stop.
If calibration doesn’t help, open the printer and make sure nothing is obstructing the sensor. Very often labels peal off and completely cover the sensor, preventing it from detecting when the labels start and end, therefore it keeps spitting them out continuously. If that’s the case, remove any sticky labels or dust from the sensor.
And the third option is make sure you have correct label type selected in the settings. If necessary enter the password 1234 to get access, then go to Media Type, and choose appropriate label type: gap, notch, mark or continuous. In my case I have a black marks between each label on the back of the roll, but the settings were set to look for a gap. After choosing correct setting the issue was resolved. That’s pretty much it, I hope that helps.

Thanks for saving an hour of diving into settings. The media type was indeed the problem in my case. My sensor was looking for the wrong label terminator!
