Always intrigued by these mini drivers and this one looks really good.
The problem is that when I put them in the bag, they generally just mirror the dispersion of my driver on that given day and are 20 yards or so shorter.
I’ve never found a day where I am spraying my driver all over creation, yet the Mini driver is hitting every shot down the center of the fairway.

I have the TSR2+ basically same thing. Even when the driver is off the mini driver stays in play way more. I love it

Having learned to play golf right at the end of the persimmon era I have to say I've never got on with big headed drivers, even the "smaller" 430cc ones feel like I'm swinging a big plastic shopping bag, (for reference I played off +3). I loved the original mini driver and will definitely be trying this out shortly as I'm looking at getting back into golf after 5 years of not playing.

For similar effect you can also loft up your driver to 12 degrees and use a shorter shaft. It transformed my game last year. That mini driver really is beautiful tho. Cobra's "tour drivers" at Rickie length are underrated options

I’ve always struggled with the longer larger drivers that we see today. So much so that I don’t have one in the bag, so I’m super short at that end. I also don’t have a 3 wood as I use a 5w off the fairway when I can and have been using that off the tee. So I think this could be perfect for me at the top end of the bag.

I have a TM burner driver and recently reduced the shaft length to 43.75. Early days, but so far have hit more fairways than I ever have previously. Losing a few yards is far less important than keeping my ball in play!

Just ordered one this past weekend. The adjustable head was the main reason I decided to go with it this year. I did get the "3W replacement" 13.5 degree model and I plan on playing it 14.5 or even 15.5. I have areas that I just need a little more accuracy off the tee, but my 4W isn't going quite far enough and I don't carry a 3W. I was going to add a 3W this year, but this looks like the perfect solution. I've only been carrying 13 clubs for years, so I got room. (Attn Spammers. No I didn't win. Don't bother.)

One of the best tips I ever got concerning driver confidence was to just choke right down the grip of your existing driver. (Basically turning it into a mini driver but keeping the bigger club face) Makes perfect sense. Works a treat.

This club is a different animal ! It’s not the same as a shorter driver ! If you try one, you will find it is MUCH easier to find fairways without giving up much distance. It is super easy to hit and confidence level is off the charts ! I bought one and was so happy with it I sold my almost new 2023 driver !

i watch your video last night, and today i went and traded in my rogue st max for the mini driver. im not the best off the tee box with a driver, but i play decent. i average 89-95. Let me tell you, this club has witchcraft in it or something because i was totaling 299 on some shots today. averaging 285. Absolutely love this thing. its easily shaved strokes off my rounds because im hitting more fairways and not to mention im somehow managing to gain more distance than i was on my driver.

Interested to know how this compares with the last TM mini driver in terms of performance - is MOI better and does it have better smash/ball speed. I think these clubs are great for the golfer who hits down on their driver/too much slice spin and loses the performance advantage that a driver offers. Perfect club for Chris?

I played on tour in the 70’s and there were always some people who were longer than others so that will not change. Regarding course length it just needs tightening fairways and slightly longer rough to make accurate shots a premium. I worked about 85-90% of most tees to hit fairways as that was more important that the extra 10-15 yards in the rough. I personally love seeing guys bomb it out these days and while l am now 70 l am not far off what l was hitting 40+ years ago.

I was unimpressed at the stock 13.5/weight back setting but when I turned it down -2 degrees and put the heavy weight up front, it was awesome. Totally different ball behavior. I picked up my mini driver on Saturday, as a chronic slicer of the ball with a driver the mini driver has stopped that, both in the sim and on the course. Needless to say the driver got traded in and the mini is in the bag. I already took the 3 wood out of the bag because it wasn’t straighter than the driver and it was too low off the deck. I feel like a mini driver might have the consistency off the tee that I wasn’t getting from the 3 wood, but I doubt I could hit it off the deck, so unless it replaces my driver, I don’t really see it fitting in my bag.

If the mini driver has better dispersion than it probably stays in the boot, for those courses that put a premium on accuracy. There are courses near me where I leave the driver in the trunk of my car so I won't even be tempted to hit it on the course. Yes, just like Mr. Robinson I often know the correct play is a 240 yard drive on the center stripe and yet, I still grab the driver and have a go. It seldom ends well. Happy almost birthday James!

Wouldn't this have been the better solution for the imaginary "distance problem" than changing the ball on the pro tour? Callaway has made on in the past, too. Other manufacturers could make one and people still would buy them. They could keep their regular big lines. There'd be no confusion over "where do I need to start using the new ball and learning new carry distances" Just one club at the top of the bag. Done.
