Let me know which ones of these EPs are YOUR favorites, or list off some of yours that I didn't mention. Or if you simply want to argue about what constitutes an EP versus an LP, tell me that, and anything else you’d like to add in the comments below.
Thouroughly enjoyed this list. A lot of these releases formed the foundation of my metal education as they were more affordable ways to enter into the bands catalog. So many amazing releases here! I would say they could provide enough metal to subsist off if all other releases were mysteriously wiped from existence
Note: The Overkill cover of the song "fuck you" is a cover from the Canadian Punk band *The Subhumans* (spelled with *"The"* ) not the British Subhumans (without the "The")
A very nice best of listing. I am not really a EP guy and was very surprised that I have all but one myself. I also have to state that Medusa is my overall favorite Anthrax song and I am happy it went on the Spreading Album so I have to admit that Raise Hell is not bad either.
One of my favorite episodes yet. I love EPs. They appeal to my short attention span. Favorites of mine that you didn't mention would include: Raven - Mad & Crash, Bang, Wallop, Obsession - Marshall Law, Sodom - In The Sign of Evil, Celtic Frost - Emperor's Return, Crisis - Armed to the Teeth, Lizzy Borden - Give 'em the Ax, Helloween - S/T and Judas, Hellion - Postcards from the Asylum, C.O.C. - Technocracy, Savatage - The Dungeons are Calling, Hirax - Hate, Fear, & Power (LP but at an EP length), Hellhammer - Apocalyptic Raids, Witchkiller - Day of the Saxons, Nemesis - The Day of Retribution, Hellbender - The Least Within & Witchway, and soooo many more. Like I said... LOVE eps. :-)
In my quest to rebuild my physical media collection, I decided that an OG (CD) copy of The $5.98 EP was the way to go, so I found a great used copy of Discogs. I wasn’t going to waver on that one, for some reason. I mean, I do own that expanded version of Overkill’s EP. All of those copies you showed are just absolutely gorgeous! Man, I would love to own vintage vinyl copies of HAUNTING THE CHAPEL, MERCYFUL FATE, and QUEENSRYCHE.
Surprised there's no mention of either Maiden Japan or The Def Leppard EP. I actually had the Overkill one but I bought it for the novelty rather than the music (which was great). Also have The Dark Sides by King Diamond, Live Scars by Dark Angel and Tear Your Soul Apart by Venom. Great video as always.
Great video! I love the mlp and ep format. Personally I prefer exclusive material as most live eps feel a little cheep. On the other hand, I really do enjoy the early Maiden live eps (Live+ One and Maiden Japan). Here is the top 20 from my collection + some bonus. 1. Helloween - s/t 2. Mercyful Fate - s/t 3. Sodom - In the Sign of Evil 4. Hellhammer - Apocalyptic Raids 5. Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales 6. Slayer - Haunting the Chapel 7. Venom - Warhead 8. Warrant - First Strike 9. Destruction - Sentence of Death 10 Celtic Frost - Emperors Return 11. Sodom - Expurse of Sodomy 12. Kreator - Flag of Hate 13. Sortilege - s/t 14. Crucifixion - Green Eyes 15. Evil - Evil's Message 16. Wikka - s/t 17. Witchkiller - Day of the Saxons 18. Torch - Fire Raiser 19. H-Bomb - Coup de Metal 20. Overkill - s/t 21. Glacier - s/t 22. Venom - Manitou 23. Raven - Crash Bang Wallop 24. Tank - Echoes of a Distant Battle 25. Queensryche - s/t 26. Ruffians - s/t

That would be top for me (followed by Metallica). Great upload again and very interesting Edit: sorry, I neglected to mention Hellhammer - Apocalyptic Raids
Won’t lie. I warped my Garage cassette so bad from heavy play I had to buy it a second time. Was a staple of our car cruising days. The height of their “coolness”. 🤘🏻
Great topic! I love the Accept, Mercyful Fate, and Queensryche, I'm in the video for "Queen Of The Reich" I play one of the helmeted guards. And if you haven't already, check out the Green Lung ep "Free The Witch" Cheers.

Great video! I was lucky enough to get all 3 members of Venom to sign my copy of Canadian Assault back in 1985.
If Matt makes a suggestion, I will buy it.
