Shorts are more powerful than you may think. I have used them for rabbit for years. There not as loud as long rifles and the bunny's will come out after to see what happened and you can get another shot.
I live in the country but still like having something quiet to not push it with close neighbors and the CCI quiets are awesome. They're perfect for squirrels and just shooting in general. My only complaint with them has been the ricochets. You can hear the whiz almost every shot and have to be really careful with them.
@@jcallahan35 sorry!! my english is awkward because I'm not live in English-speaking countries. so this test means cardboard test! I have never seen firing the cardboard test.
try the CCI 22short coper jacket hollow points 1105 fps.......My Henry lever rifle (001)holds 21 of them and is deadly up to 50 yards ,work good in my 2 Ruger Wranglers to. The CBs and quiets are wimpy. lol.
A .22 cb has NO powder in it! Its strictly the primer. How on earth did it do more that a LR with powder charge?! Thats crazy. Didn't see that coming. I love them and use them both. I'm shocked
Just wondering... Why wouldn't you have stacked the cardboard up and turned them so you would shoot strait into the face of the cardboard, not a glancing shot into the angled cardboard as you have done?

yes I agree I have got many squirrels with the CB round more then any other bullet
Great test, thanks
Nice video!! Also, trying to find one of those Marlins is like finding a leprechaun. Been looking for one for a couple of years with no luck.
Got that one on budsgunshop.com
If memory serves me aren't they both the same muzzle velocity?
Yea but different bullet weights the short is 29gr and the LR is 40gr
@@johnnycallahan2547Thanks! I missed that at the beginning. 👍
Good test. Nice video. I like it. Thanks for posting this. -b
I love CBs

jordanaug81 yes very true always shoot soft targets with these in my test
Yeah, especially on frozen ground
Get he 22lr queits in segmented hollow points same speed and noise just they break in 3 pieces on impact so you dont get those crazy whizz ricochet
Very true, every shot is a singing ricochet when shooting steel targets!
What are you shooting to cause a ricochet?
.? That where both simerler in sound how do you think accuracy is say at 50 feet ? P.s. Great demo Peter
Peter Houben will the 22 lr quite is more accurate but I will see about testing both of them on accuracy later
Done video here is link th-cam.com/video/McK4bQA2rPc/w-d-xo.html
CCI Quiets are plenty accurate, I've been shooting them for years and love them
both deadly i want the quieter one
I love my little bitty 6 shot 22 short ROHM.....
awesome i wanted to see this test
What kind of test
@@jcallahan35 sorry!! my english is awkward

so this test means cardboard test!
I have never seen firing the cardboard test.
22cb is still good for small game I killed a lot of squirrels, coon, rabbits, ground hogs with them all under 75yds
Awesome
Dude, how long does it take you to count?
Your very talented shooting during an earthquake
CCI quite lr = 6
CB short = 8 ?!
ok, i give up! ,,, magic!
They should have called the 22LR "Quiet"; the CCI 22LR CB cap. This name is misleading. A .22 Hi Vel short blows them both away big time.

Those edge protectors are pretty tough to penetrate
c woody yes they are hard
it could be the 22quiet is tumbling and catching more cardboard . cb is shorter bullet , less friction.
Bingo
Yeah but check for accuracy 22cb short shoots higher
lights out th-cam.com/video/McK4bQA2rPc/w-d-xo.html video here

The CB does have a small powder charge
Yet they bounce right off a groundhogs ass, and don't even slow it down. Those critters are tougher than they look.
😂

MorninTripper I can redo that but now I have a Henry instead of the Marlin
Aww the 40 grain expanded. The short didn't. Reason it went further.
The short also has almost twice the speed as the quiet
There is a marble stand in front of that worthless pit that reads at the bottom of that mine lays one hell of a man, who could hit HARD!
What rifle are you using?
lewliberty marlin tx22 bolt action
Short but sure
If there both rated the same fps , and same grain , the only thing left is cb short is loaded hotter. But that would raise the fps ?
My estimate would be that the Quiet is loaded hotter to get the same FPS with a 40 grain bullet as the CB Short with the 29 grain bullet.
It's right on the box, the shorts have more fps than the quiet, the CCI quiet is subsonic @710 fps, the shorts are over 1000fps
@@MJNader81 it says on the box that they are both subsonic at 710 fps.
Quite quiet.
