Awesome video, mate! Considering going 35mm myself but beside all that... Loved you showing the English gravel routes GCN will never show us! That looked painful to say the least!
Nice video. I am thinking of upgrading stock wheelset to DT Swiss GR 1600. Can you share a bit more about your experience using DT Swiss GR1600 wheelset after few months of usage? Thank you.
Great video, you mentioned that your bike had good tire clearance, but I don't think you mentioned the tire width you are using? I am currently wrestling with the idea of getting a good gravel bike and going all-in on gravel for next year (I live in the US Midwest, so gravel everywhere). One of my motivations is that there are tons of gravel events to do with more all the time, while the number of dedicated road events continues to decline. I have always been a dedicated roadie, however, I might have to embrace the dark side and ride both road and gravel next year. I am looking at the Gravel Worlds (Lincoln, NE) long voyage event, which is 350 miles in August.
It's a 35mm tyre, that's the max listed on the trek website too, but there's still quite a bit of space so I think you'd be able to get a 40mm on comfortably. 350 miles is huge! Good luck if you attempt it, I definitely wouldn't be able to finish it!
@@JMower It depends on the type of gravel tire. Last time, I tried installing a 38mm tire, but there was only about 2mm of clearance on each side, and the left side actually touched the fork. 😢 Now, I’ve switched to 35mm Cinturato tires, and they’re a perfect fit. There’s about 5mm of clearance on each side between the tire and the fork. 👍🏽

Trek light and very convenient
If the bike has the clearance its well worth it. 👍🏻
For Cyclocross you will want to learn a single, simple mantra "green is grip!", enjoy!
Did you ever consider getting fenders ?
