After a brief period with Jeff Scott Soto in lead vocals, guitarist Neal Schon sent an invitation to Filipino vocalist Arnel Pineda based on his TH-cam videos. Pineda thought it was a joke at first, but he eventually auditioned and got the job. He is as close to Steve Perry as you can possibly get in terms of vocal style and ability. It was good to hear them sounding like Journey again.
This is one of those songs that take you back to a time and place. It has that effect for 80's kids. Vans shoes, skateboards , and numb-chucks [you hit yourself a lot while practicing] .

This is what I call my life song. In 1989 on June 3rd, I broke 2 bones in my neck, and was paralysed from the neck down, I started getting feeling in my arms again after 3 weeks, and 4 weeks after my accident, I was moved to a hospital in Glasgow nearer my home. I was told 1 week after my accident I wouldn't walk again, but a nurse in the Glasgow hospital, Wendy told me...rubbish, don't listen to that, I'll get you up and walking again, just Don't Stop Believing that, I hadn't even heard of this song by that time. Then I heard it on the radio a few weeks later, I thought it was a sign, about 6 to 8 weeks later, Wendy took me to the Gymnasium in the hospital, and between her, and the head Physio, Viv, they had me standing between parallel bars, taking my first step. So if someone tell you, that you can't do something, don't listen to them, prove them wrong, I did.
