Steven did and he made it to the top. He is a big baseball fan. Some of the band is from Chicago, some from the Bay Area. The Chicago White Sox won the World Series when they adopted it as their theme song. It had been 80 something years! The S.F. Giants had some great teams but hadn't won since 1954. They adopted this song as their theme song and won it in 2012, 2014 and 2016. Believe it or not! This song is magical.

I remember an interview with Steve Perry when he said that he worked a small club that had horrible red carpet that had wine stains on it and the women who came into the club would go heavy on the perfume and so the carpet smelled like wine and cheap perfume, he remembered that when they were writing the song. He also said while they were touring, he was on the top floor of a hotel looking down seeing the glow of the lights while ppl were milling about and thought they looked like street light ppl 🎶🎵

In the 80s I tried to get tickets to see them in Austin but their concert sold out in less than an hour.
