For the people wondering how the actual system works in numbers: Minecraft protection enchantments work via a percentage damage reduction, with the maximum amount of damage reduction being capped at 80% protection IV (4) gives a static 16% reduction in damage, regardless of what armor piece it's on. Projectile/blast/fire protection IV (4) gives a static 32% reduction to their respective damages, also regardless of what armor piece it's on. So a full set of protection IV armor is 16% + 16% + 16% +16% = 64% all-round damage protection, which doesn't reach the damage reduction cap of 80% Now let's swap one of the protection IV pieces with Fire protection IV Now, we have 16% + 16% + 16% = 48% all-round damage reduction, that includes fire damage reduction. If you add the 32% fire damage reduction on top of that, 48% + 32% = 80%, that's the perfect 80% cap you're looking for: you basically sacrifice 16% allround protection for 16% extra fire protection. If you enchant a full armor set (4 pieces) with fire protection, that means you get 32% + 32% + 32% + 32% = 128% fire damage reduction, which is WELL over the damage reduction cap of 80% I still use full protection IV armor, but having a fire or blast protection chestplate laying around can be useful for nether trips or terraforming.
of course this doesnt take into account feather falling, which is 12% which rounds together with full prot IV as 80%, this is to say that you shouldnt add feather falling alongside a set that has fire prot as it’ll add up to well over 80% nulling the effects of fire prot. but using a set without feather falling is preferable if you lack fire resistance potions or are just mining in the nether for a long ass time
Thorns is widely disliked because it damages your armor each time it hurts somebody. If your opponent has full max armor it is better to not have thorns.

@@conan377 In pvp, especially in hcf or another extreme game modes, yes its bad. But in a singleplayer survival world where you have plenty of time to make an xp farm, get mending etc. Its decently good, VERY good actually. It's passive dmg without any drawbacks since you can allways just repair the armor and you won't get caught in unexpected big fights where durability really matters.
Nick Kayfabe I think it’s good, in a normal smp a single fight isn’t gonna destroy ur armour set if u have un breaking 3 even with thorns 3, and with a basic endermen farm and mending, you can instantly repair ur armour after a fight
Fire Protection enchantment reduces the burning time by 15% for each level (on normal survival it is capped at 60% due to max level of 4), meaning if you touch lava, you will burn for 6 seconds (additional fire ticks when you were in lava for longer than 0 seconds are also removed) instead of 15 or more, that saved me from death a lot of times in the nether.
@eligah1843 you are completely right. However, there also comes the fact that people lack inventory space, and carrying multiple potions shaves off a decent chunk of inventory space that could be dedicated to other items. It's not the matter of the ideal protection, it's a matter of convenience. Applied primarily to the Nether and in somewhat specific circumstances. Otherwise, your statement is fully valid, as higher overall protection value is way more important in a lot more cases, and fire protection doesn't fully eliminate fire damage anyway.
So here’s what I’m gonna do Helmet: Prot 4 Chestplate: Prot 4 Leggings: Fire Prot 4 Boots: Prot 4 (Edit It doesn’t matter what armor piece you put fire prot 4 on) Also you don’t want to put Fire Prot on chestplate in case you use elytras. And you should put fire Prot on leggings because leggings only need a couple enchants unlike boots and helmet

I wouldn’t recommend just using an enchantment table. The main thing I like to do is make a villager trading farm, their quite simple, but are way more efficient and effective.
Check out Gnembon's video on putting as many enchantments on an item as possible. You should start with the Enchanting table to get as much as possible at item level 1, then use books. Otherwise, you could limit what you can fit on the item (this is more of a big deal for swords.)
I suggest putting specialty enchantments on Chestplate specially in SMP if you ever combat, cuz when you have a elytra you'll be using it a lot compared to your chestplate, so if you suddenly get attacked and suppose you had put your fire prot on leggings, you will only be 2/4 Prot 4.
There's one thing that your missing, it's like a "set bonus" but not really.... If you have a total of fire protection 7 (So a minimum of one fire prot4 and one fire prot3) then when exiting fire or lava, the fire on you is extinguished as soon as you leave the fire source. I thought you might want to test the total over all damage with the ticks of damage from being on fire after with 1 peice of armour with fire protection on compared to 2 peices fire protection 4 without the fire damage as in the nether you won't have water to put it out (I know potions are available)
I looked it up, and this is only for bedrock, which sucks because it sounds really cool. BUT, I saw that on java edition that it picks the fire prot with the highest level and at level 4 it reduces the on-fire time by 3 secs. (fire is normally 7.5 secs and lava 15)

@@vayrone57 I am a villager expert and have made many many trading systems The best way to start minecraft and get full diamond everything in about 5 hours or less is by curing villagers and using the discounts provided to get Tools, Armor, and Weapons. I have a blacksmith that sells Prot II, Depth strider I, Unbreaking I diamond boots for 1 emerald each. Infinitely cheaper than crafting it and you can combine them. The best part about this is that with grinding stones you can disenchant it all for exp to enchant books for said enchantments instead of using a full 100 librarian book trading system to get what you want The only reason you would ever want a librarian is to sell paper and get Mending books if you're lucky enough

The same argument that is applied to projectile protection with shields can be applied to fire protection with fire resistance potions. They are quite cheap to make once you've journeyed through the nether and visited a nether fortress once, and they completely cancel fire damage for 8 minutes. I always carry a fire resistance potion on my hotbar when I am in the nether, so I can survive if I fall in lava, and this cancels the need for fire protection. I always wear protection 4 on boots, chestplate, and helmet and blast prot 4 on leggings when I am in the overworld because creepers do far more damage than anything else, and I swap out for protection on leggins when I go into another dimension or fight with dangerous overworld mobs like guardians or illagers.

There are actually bugs to get special protections to stack, like the OP helmet bug with skeleton horsemen spawning with multiple special protections and Protection and it actually works!
Simple and informative. Great video. A couple more points: - Like the video says, there's almost never a situation where you don't want 3 pieces to have regular protection. It's especially important to have 2 pieces of regular so Feather Falling IV can meet the 80% damage reduction cap vs fall damage. - Feather Falling IV is nearly impossible to get with lv30 enchants (less than 3% chance). Use a villager or block a bookcase with a torch to get the best chance of it at lv26. - Elytra crash damage (when a wall is hit) is considered separate from fall damage (when the ground is landed on). Make sure the 3 pieces of pieces of armor with regular protection are helmet, pants, and boots so that when the chestplate is swapped you have maximum protection against it as Feather Falling does not reduce it. - Projectile Protection is still good for end city raids since the only naturally hostile enemies are shulkers which it will maximize damage resistance against. It's not really good anywhere else unless you know you'll get in a PvP bow-exclusive fight. - Like Feather Falling, Projectile Protection is nearly impossible to get with lv30 enchants. Use a villager or enchant at lv21 for the best chance. - Fire protection IV also reduces time spent on fire by 60%. This is also useful in the overworld not just for accidental lava baths but also for Fire Aspect swords. If a zombie hits you while on fire it will take much less time for the screen obscuring flames to go away. More pieces of Fire Protection don't help any further with this though.
a couple more points: make full set of armors, tools, and weapons for every enchantment and material(netherite, gold, and leather) combination. thats what i do in my server
Use Villagers to get exactly the enchantment you need. That costs less level and you can trade multiple times while beeing sure you always get the right enchantment...
enchantment table for armour, villagers for tools. tool enchants from ET just seem much more inconsistent and harder to get specific ones; when you got the books, you can just stack pretty easily. emeralds are ez too if you get many fletchers and a tree farm going. you can use ET for tools to get a few, then use villagers to get the ones you're missing (especially efficiency 5 / sharp 5). combining items can sometimes get expensive though (sometimes more than ET) but np
I recommend putting the last prot on your leggings( if u already have prot on everything and have to disenchant something) because late game will require you to use an elytra so u wont use ur chestplate that often, if u do have everything maxed it wil also be the least of a waste since leggings only can have 4 enchantments applied to them instead of the boots and helmet that has more
This comment is still true in Mid 2022. The only "good" and "unique" enchantment for the leggings is Swift Sneak 1 2 and 3 but you can just add that with specialty enchant.

I've done a bit 8f research about armors. Protection value is capped at 20. Prot 4 has a prot valie of 4. 4x4=16. Your prot value is 16 when in full prot 4 armor. Fire prot4/projectile prot4/blast prot4 has a prot value of 8. If you have three pieces of prot4 and one piece of fire prot 4 your prot value is 3x4=12 against all damage and 3x4+8=20 against fire damage. Full fire prot is just a waste because of the cap at 20. 4x8>20. This also means its pointless having more than one armorpieca thats not prot 4. Example: prot4+prot4+fire prot4+blast prot4. This gives a value of 8 against all damage, a valie of 16 against fire, and a value of 16 against explotions. Rather than this get a full prot4 set and have prot value 16 aginst everything.

Using Anvils and Villager captivity is better than getting an enchantment table and actually cheaper. Specialty Prots (as in the only 2 good ones) Should not be put on multiple armor pieces because they don't stack. However Thorns and Regular Prot does Instead, Just put Prot IV or 4 on all pieces except for the Leggings or Chestplate because both don't have any Good or Unique enchantments However, The leggings do have a unique enchantment called Swift Sneak which goes up to III but it's not that good because it's main purpose is to avoid the Warden. Java exclusive stuff there. Sorry Bedrock. I will add some armor sets for you to use. It is basically the main thing of this comment. It is also related to the video so I'm not a total idiot. Armor Set Notes/General Notes: For time saving purposes. Just know that Unbreaking III and Mending are on all sets and on all armor pieces. If you know then we both know To enchant more effectively and save XP. Combine the books like this. Combine 2 of any enchant together. Combine another 2 of any enchant together. Repeat until all books are merged. Then Combine 2 of any enchant book together. Rinse and Repeat until it's the last 2 books. Then merge 1 of the 2 books to the armor piece. One has Protection 4, one has Thorns 3, and there's a few other decent ones (really would like one that has Sharpness 5). That's a decent reason to not want it, I suppose. There is nothing complicated about tools tho. Unbreaking 3, efficiency 5 and mending are no brainers. And then its just silk touch or fortune. For pickaxe I recommend one of each. For axe I usually get neither. Silk touch is annoying when mining wood since leaves get in your inventory. And for shovel it only matters when mining gravel.
My reasoning for a perfect set of armour: As a specialty enchantment I'd add fire resistance because upon the official release of the 1.16 Nether update, I use the nether significantly more. I'd add fire resistance onto the boots because the boots offers the least amount of protection and the fire protection will count as equal to all four pieces of armour anyway. The only problem with this is I believe that general protection minimalises fall damage. To overcome this my boots will also have feather falling. My additional enchantments on the boots will include depth strider to swim faster, and soul speed. The problems with soul speed are that it wears down the durability on the boots when used. To overcome this, my boots will have mending and unbreaking. Additionally, soul speed can come as a shock and cause you to walk into lava or fall from a high place. Both the fire protection and feather falling will help to prevent this. Onto the leggings and chestplate, they will have general protection, unbreaking and mending. These items have no speciality enchantments, so onto the helmet. My helmet will have general protection, unbreaking and mending, and on to speciality enchantments: Aqua affinity to make breaking blocks underwater easier, and respiration to help with breathing underwater. These are the only speciality enchantments on the helmet. Also, all the enchantments will be to maximum level on survival, on netherite armour. Keep in mind that all of these views are my personal opinion and I respect your opinion regardless of if it differs to mine. I'm happy to hear your opinion if you wish to share it :)
Best armor in Minecraft for singleplayer survival: Protection helmet Protection chestplate Fire protection leggings Protection boots (and other possible enchantments) The reason I selected Fire Protection instead of blast or projectile is: -If you fall into lava in Nether or maybe you just need to swim in lava to reach somewhere, it helps a lot -Blast protection protects from TNT and creepers. TNT is a block that crafted by a player and if you use it by taking precautions/shoot them with flame bow it doesn't damage you. And creeper explosion happens once and doesn't happen again for a time period, but lava/fire gives you damage every second. -Projectile protection is completely useless, it only works for skeletons and if you have prot 4 netherite armor, they can't even damage you and if you have thorns 3, they die before they kill you :D
Another tip for enchanting armor is that netherrite has the highest enchanting value of all materials, which means that you get a lot better enchantments from it than on other materials, making it more effective to enchant netherrite than to enchant diamond. What I like to do is make a separate set of diamond armor, that I then turn into netherrite armor, because I get much better enchantments than my enchanted diamond armor.
@@i_envy_you Just looked it up, Gold armor has the highest enchantability value with 25, followed by Gold tools. Both Netherite armor and Tools have a value of 15, which is equal to that of leather armor and wooden tools.
my choice:--- Protection for chestplate is necessary | as we fall in lava sometimes so fir protection on leggings will be suitable | then blast protection on boots as by explosion on our legs will not affect that much and we'll not be pounced so high so blast and fall damage both will decrease and if u want then u can put projectile protection on helmet as arrow on head deals critical damage

In my personal survival world I'm planning on making an armor room with a full netherite maxed out set of armor for each area of the game. One for everyday use, one for underwater, one for mining, and one for the nether. I'm making the nether one first. You just saved me from a full fire prot set if armor😂 I would've been like dangit fire prot is useless
Same, I often go fight mobs in the nether when I'm bored and I was about to make full fire protection because I almost died to a blaze setting me on fire, now I'm just going to make a pair of boots with fire protection IV.
To make this simple, the ideal armor would be with three protection IV armor pieces and one blast protection IV piece. Projectile protection is unneeded since shields are a thing, fire protection is unneeded on Netherite armor, while a creeper explosion can happen out of nowhere without having time to react and block, and can actually kill you.
Yeah but for fire prot pvp , U might get surpise jump with a dude fire aspect and bucket of lava , your potion will run out and u will die. But fire prot u have perma fire potion
This is pretty useful because I’m the type of person that’s always worried about a ghast shooting me off in the nether so this will be useful, because I know that if I make a backup set of armor for the nether I only need fire protection on one piece and not the whole set.
@@soreidelas I barely go to the nether because of the ghast, also I spawned on a nether island in a lava lake and have already accepted my fate to keep that nether spawn.
While youre right that ff is absolutely worth it, you actually only need ff2 to max out fall protection assuming the rest of the armor is prot 4. And thats only an 80% increase in fall damage reduction. Still very good, and even better if you lack any other enchantments yet.
when you are in a stacked server: get full armors for every single armor combination, put them in a shulker box(or bundles) and swap out when needed. I do this with all the armors for all possible maxed armors, meaning all netherit armor combo, gold armor combo(for traveling to nether), and full armor combo for leather boots(for walking on powdered snow in snow biome), and full weapon and tool combos all netherite for efficiency, and another same set but with gold since gold is slightly faster(except for tools like fishing rods, shears, carrot on a stick, etc which has no netherite or gold variants so i just put maxed everything for those). lastly, I also enchanted a few(a stack) of carved pumpkin with curse of binding and vanishing(coz why not), to troll people(since i have keep inv on my server, they cant take it off)
@@noobynoah_7408 only enchantments worth from villagers are mending and frostwalker, as you can’t get them from an enchant table. to be honest, it would be a lot faster to stick to normal enchanting than villagers because you’d probably waste much more time getting the correct trades than enchanting.

And I really didn't think about if you just had a exp farm right beside your enchanting room. I personally like enchanting then adding the enchants that i need, like say i got prot 4 only, I would then buy a unbreaking 3 book and mending book then put it on. But yes you are right.
Protection: I excel in all types of combat. And most of the mobs can’t handle my armor! Fire Protection: Hate the nether? Make it your home with me. Nothing can burn me to a crisp. quick tip! i don't know if it's been mentioned here or not, but avoid thorns if at all possible! the damage return is negligible in most cases, and the enchantment itself breaks your armor faster.
I never use any other protection enchantment other than plain protection, because I know it’s well-balanced throughout and offers general protection against all outside harm unlike other protection enchantments only specified for certain external forces while leaving yourself more vulnerable from other causes
Protection protects against everything besides void damage however and is usually more useful because of that. Within crystal pvp ome piece with blast prot may be useful however. Fire and proj prot should always be avoided if you can.
Never get blast protection unless your in 2b2t Fire protection is pretty good for nether adventure and fortress raiding or bastion raiding Projectile Protection is completely useless

Thorns is widely disliked because it damages your armor each time it hurts somebody. If your opponent has full max armor it is better to not have thorns.

But in a singleplayer survival world where you have plenty of time to make an xp farm, get mending etc. Its decently good, VERY good actually. It's passive dmg without any drawbacks since you can allways just repair the armor and you won't get caught in unexpected big fights where durability really matters.

Feather falling, Respiration and Aqua Affinity are all rlly good. Even tho Aqua Affinity doesn’t reduce damage
Fire Protection enchantment reduces the burning time by 15% for each level (on normal survival it is capped at 60% due to max level of 4), meaning if you touch lava, you will burn for 6 seconds (additional fire ticks when you were in lava for longer than 0 seconds are also removed) instead of 15 or more, that saved me from death a lot of times in the nether.
Fire res potion are honestly better though. Fire protection kinda sucks since you could pick literally any other protection and it would be better

However, there also comes the fact that people lack inventory space, and carrying multiple potions shaves off a decent chunk of inventory space that could be dedicated to other items.
It's not the matter of the ideal protection, it's a matter of convenience. Applied primarily to the Nether and in somewhat specific circumstances. Otherwise, your statement is fully valid, as higher overall protection value is way more important in a lot more cases, and fire protection doesn't fully eliminate fire damage anyway.

I wouldn’t recommend just using an enchantment table. The main thing I like to do is make a villager trading farm, their quite simple, but are way more efficient and effective.
Check out Gnembon's video on putting as many enchantments on an item as possible. You should start with the Enchanting table to get as much as possible at item level 1, then use books. Otherwise, you could limit what you can fit on the item (this is more of a big deal for swords.)

I use villagers with prot mending unbreaking and thorns then I get the other ones through enchantments except some like depthstrider and stuff
plus mending books cannot be obtained by an enchanting table

I suggest putting specialty enchantments on Chestplate specially in SMP if you ever combat, cuz when you have a elytra you'll be using it a lot compared to your chestplate, so if you suddenly get attacked and suppose you had put your fire prot on leggings, you will only be 2/4 Prot 4.
Unless you can’t get elytras then normal would work but thats a good idea I will have to use that thanks!

There's one thing that your missing, it's like a "set bonus" but not really.... If you have a total of fire protection 7 (So a minimum of one fire prot4 and one fire prot3) then when exiting fire or lava, the fire on you is extinguished as soon as you leave the fire source. I thought you might want to test the total over all damage with the ticks of damage from being on fire after with 1 peice of armour with fire protection on compared to 2 peices fire protection 4 without the fire damage as in the nether you won't have water to put it out (I know potions are available)
I looked it up, and this is only for bedrock, which sucks because it sounds really cool.
BUT, I saw that on java edition that it picks the fire prot with the highest level and at level 4 it reduces the on-fire time by 3 secs. (fire is normally 7.5 secs and lava 15)

The best way to start minecraft and get full diamond everything in about 5 hours or less is by curing villagers and using the discounts provided to get Tools, Armor, and Weapons.
I have a blacksmith that sells Prot II, Depth strider I, Unbreaking I diamond boots for 1 emerald each. Infinitely cheaper than crafting it and you can combine them.
The best part about this is that with grinding stones you can disenchant it all for exp to enchant books for said enchantments instead of using a full 100 librarian book trading system to get what you want
The only reason you would ever want a librarian is to sell paper and get Mending books if you're lucky enough

The same argument that is applied to projectile protection with shields can be applied to fire protection with fire resistance potions. They are quite cheap to make once you've journeyed through the nether and visited a nether fortress once, and they completely cancel fire damage for 8 minutes. I always carry a fire resistance potion on my hotbar when I am in the nether, so I can survive if I fall in lava, and this cancels the need for fire protection. I always wear protection 4 on boots, chestplate, and helmet and blast prot 4 on leggings when I am in the overworld because creepers do far more damage than anything else, and I swap out for protection on leggins when I go into another dimension or fight with dangerous overworld mobs like guardians or illagers.

Simple and informative. Great video.
A couple more points:
- Like the video says, there's almost never a situation where you don't want 3 pieces to have regular protection. It's especially important to have 2 pieces of regular so Feather Falling IV can meet the 80% damage reduction cap vs fall damage.
- Feather Falling IV is nearly impossible to get with lv30 enchants (less than 3% chance). Use a villager or block a bookcase with a torch to get the best chance of it at lv26.
- Elytra crash damage (when a wall is hit) is considered separate from fall damage (when the ground is landed on). Make sure the 3 pieces of pieces of armor with regular protection are helmet, pants, and boots so that when the chestplate is swapped you have maximum protection against it as Feather Falling does not reduce it.
- Projectile Protection is still good for end city raids since the only naturally hostile enemies are shulkers which it will maximize damage resistance against. It's not really good anywhere else unless you know you'll get in a PvP bow-exclusive fight.
- Like Feather Falling, Projectile Protection is nearly impossible to get with lv30 enchants. Use a villager or enchant at lv21 for the best chance.
- Fire protection IV also reduces time spent on fire by 60%. This is also useful in the overworld not just for accidental lava baths but also for Fire Aspect swords. If a zombie hits you while on fire it will take much less time for the screen obscuring flames to go away. More pieces of Fire Protection don't help any further with this though.
a couple more points: make full set of armors, tools, and weapons for every enchantment and material(netherite, gold, and leather) combination. thats what i do in my server
Use Villagers to get exactly the enchantment you need. That costs less level and you can trade multiple times while beeing sure you always get the right enchantment...

enchantment table for armour, villagers for tools. tool enchants from ET just seem much more inconsistent and harder to get specific ones; when you got the books, you can just stack pretty easily. emeralds are ez too if you get many fletchers and a tree farm going. you can use ET for tools to get a few, then use villagers to get the ones you're missing (especially efficiency 5 / sharp 5). combining items can sometimes get expensive though (sometimes more than ET) but np
I find fire prot useless because at this point in the game I can just carry a fire res potion on me

I recommend putting the last prot on your leggings( if u already have prot on everything and have to disenchant something) because late game will require you to use an elytra so u wont use ur chestplate that often, if u do have everything maxed it wil also be the least of a waste since leggings only can have 4 enchantments applied to them instead of the boots and helmet that has more

This comment is still true in Mid 2022. The only "good" and "unique" enchantment for the leggings is Swift Sneak 1 2 and 3 but you can just add that with specialty enchant.

I've done a bit 8f research about armors. Protection value is capped at 20. Prot 4 has a prot valie of 4. 4x4=16. Your prot value is 16 when in full prot 4 armor. Fire prot4/projectile prot4/blast prot4 has a prot value of 8. If you have three pieces of prot4 and one piece of fire prot 4 your prot value is 3x4=12 against all damage and 3x4+8=20 against fire damage. Full fire prot is just a waste because of the cap at 20. 4x8>20.
This also means its pointless having more than one armorpieca thats not prot 4. Example: prot4+prot4+fire prot4+blast prot4. This gives a value of 8 against all damage, a valie of 16 against fire, and a value of 16 against explotions. Rather than this get a full prot4 set and have prot value 16 aginst everything.
Read this comment for a full overview and slightly more information. But it would be better if you would watch the whole video.
To sum up all he has mentioned and slight extras.
Using Anvils and Villager captivity is better than getting an enchantment table and actually cheaper.
Specialty Prots (as in the only 2 good ones) Should not be put on multiple armor pieces because they don't stack. However Thorns and Regular Prot does
Instead, Just put Prot IV or 4 on all pieces except for the Leggings or Chestplate because both don't have any Good or Unique enchantments
However, The leggings do have a unique enchantment called Swift Sneak which goes up to III but it's not that good because it's main purpose is to avoid the Warden. Java exclusive stuff there. Sorry Bedrock.
I will add some armor sets for you to use. It is basically the main thing of this comment. It is also related to the video so I'm not a total idiot.
Armor Set Notes/General Notes:
For time saving purposes. Just know that Unbreaking III and Mending are on all sets and on all armor pieces. If you know then we both know
To enchant more effectively and save XP. Combine the books like this. Combine 2 of any enchant together. Combine another 2 of any enchant together. Repeat until all books are merged. Then Combine 2 of any enchant book together. Rinse and Repeat until it's the last 2 books. Then merge 1 of the 2 books to the armor piece. Then merge the last book to the armor piece. And that's it.
I will be using Roman Numerals for the enchant levels
Incase you don't know what Roman Numerals are. I stands for 1. II stands for 2. III stands for 3. IV stands for 4. And V stands for 5. Got it?
The enchantment Swift Sneak III is the new enchant in the 1.19 Snapshot. Remember that it is not yet available in The Bedrock and Pocket editions. same thing with education edition as well i think
To answer a quick question I think may pop up. "Why is it that for the Boots you say we can put Frost Walker lvl II or I" That is because Frost Walker is the rarest enchant. Don't make this a controversy in the replies
Certain enchants like Mending are just 1 single level. meaning that I won't put roman numerals after it.

In case your wondering if we should use Diamond Armor or Netherite Armor. It will be specific for each Set. Although Netherite is not that much better then Diamond Because it only has more durability and damage for the tools and there is Knockback resistance but it may make it easier for a player to combo you.

Ha! I recently finished putting Protection IV, Unbreaking III, Mending, and Thorns III on all my Neterite Armor (plus specialty enchants).
@@an0n7mo7s It's useful to me! I mean, even if I'm not paying attention, it'll let me take minor revenge against a monster that sneaks up on me. Not sure how many times I've had it hurt a skeleton that shot me in the back or while my shield was down.

There is nothing complicated about tools tho. Unbreaking 3, efficiency 5 and mending are no brainers. And then its just silk touch or fortune. For pickaxe I recommend one of each. For axe I usually get neither. Silk touch is annoying when mining wood since leaves get in your inventory. And for shovel it only matters when mining gravel.
My reasoning for a perfect set of armour:
As a specialty enchantment I'd add fire resistance because upon the official release of the 1.16 Nether update, I use the nether significantly more. I'd add fire resistance onto the boots because the boots offers the least amount of protection and the fire protection will count as equal to all four pieces of armour anyway. The only problem with this is I believe that general protection minimalises fall damage. To overcome this my boots will also have feather falling. My additional enchantments on the boots will include depth strider to swim faster, and soul speed. The problems with soul speed are that it wears down the durability on the boots when used. To overcome this, my boots will have mending and unbreaking.
Additionally, soul speed can come as a shock and cause you to walk into lava or fall from a high place. Both the fire protection and feather falling will help to prevent this.
Onto the leggings and chestplate, they will have general protection, unbreaking and mending. These items have no speciality enchantments, so onto the helmet. My helmet will have general protection, unbreaking and mending, and on to speciality enchantments: Aqua affinity to make breaking blocks underwater easier, and respiration to help with breathing underwater. These are the only speciality enchantments on the helmet. Also, all the enchantments will be to maximum level on survival, on netherite armour.
Keep in mind that all of these views are my personal opinion and I respect your opinion regardless of if it differs to mine. I'm happy to hear your opinion if you wish to share it :)

-If you fall into lava in Nether or maybe you just need to swim in lava to reach somewhere, it helps a lot
-Blast protection protects from TNT and creepers. TNT is a block that crafted by a player and if you use it by taking precautions/shoot them with flame bow it doesn't damage you. And creeper explosion happens once and doesn't happen again for a time period, but lava/fire gives you damage every second.
-Projectile protection is completely useless, it only works for skeletons and if you have prot 4 netherite armor, they can't even damage you and if you have thorns 3, they die before they kill you :D

Another tip for enchanting armor is that netherrite has the highest enchanting value of all materials, which means that you get a lot better enchantments from it than on other materials, making it more effective to enchant netherrite than to enchant diamond. What I like to do is make a separate set of diamond armor, that I then turn into netherrite armor, because I get much better enchantments than my enchanted diamond armor.
I think netherite is second best to gold, not sure though.

@@i_envy_you Just looked it up, Gold armor has the highest enchantability value with 25, followed by Gold tools. Both Netherite armor and Tools have a value of 15, which is equal to that of leather armor and wooden tools.

my choice:--- Protection for chestplate is necessary | as we fall in lava sometimes so fir protection on leggings will be suitable | then blast protection on boots as by explosion on our legs will not affect that much and we'll not be pounced so high so blast and fall damage both will decrease and if u want then u can put projectile protection on helmet as arrow on head deals critical damage

In my personal survival world I'm planning on making an armor room with a full netherite maxed out set of armor for each area of the game. One for everyday use, one for underwater, one for mining, and one for the nether. I'm making the nether one first. You just saved me from a full fire prot set if armor😂 I would've been like dangit fire prot is useless
Same, I often go fight mobs in the nether when I'm bored and I was about to make full fire protection because I almost died to a blaze setting me on fire, now I'm just going to make a pair of boots with fire protection IV.
To make this simple, the ideal armor would be with three protection IV armor pieces and one blast protection IV piece.
Projectile protection is unneeded since shields are a thing, fire protection is unneeded on Netherite armor, while a creeper explosion can happen out of nowhere without having time to react and block, and can actually kill you.

U might get surpise jump with a dude fire aspect and bucket of lava , your potion will run out and u will die. But fire prot u have perma fire potion
This is pretty useful because I’m the type of person that’s always worried about a ghast shooting me off in the nether so this will be useful, because I know that if I make a backup set of armor for the nether I only need fire protection on one piece and not the whole set.

While youre right that ff is absolutely worth it, you actually only need ff2 to max out fall protection assuming the rest of the armor is prot 4. And thats only an 80% increase in fall damage reduction. Still very good, and even better if you lack any other enchantments yet.
when you are in a stacked server: get full armors for every single armor combination, put them in a shulker box(or bundles) and swap out when needed. I do this with all the armors for all possible maxed armors, meaning all netherit armor combo, gold armor combo(for traveling to nether), and full armor combo for leather boots(for walking on powdered snow in snow biome), and full weapon and tool combos all netherite for efficiency, and another same set but with gold since gold is slightly faster(except for tools like fishing rods, shears, carrot on a stick, etc which has no netherite or gold variants so i just put maxed everything for those). lastly, I also enchanted a few(a stack) of carved pumpkin with curse of binding and vanishing(coz why not), to troll people(since i have keep inv on my server, they cant take it off)

I'm crying because I have to disenchant my armor now.
Why don't you just get villagers and keep changing their trades untill you get the desired enchantment?
It takes awhile but personally its quite simple, just takes awhile to get the maxed out enchantment.
@@noobynoah_7408 only enchantments worth from villagers are mending and frostwalker, as you can’t get them from an enchant table. to be honest, it would be a lot faster to stick to normal enchanting than villagers because you’d probably waste much more time getting the correct trades than enchanting.
@@z69b Yeah I agree, but if its mass production of weapons and armor, villagers is deffinity the way to go. And I really didn't think about if you just had a exp farm right beside your enchanting room. I personally like enchanting then adding the enchants that i need, like say i got prot 4 only, I would then buy a unbreaking 3 book and mending book then put it on. But yes you are right.

quick tip!
i don't know if it's been mentioned here or not, but avoid thorns if at all possible! the damage return is negligible in most cases, and the enchantment itself breaks your armor faster.
They should add a magic protection enchant to stop instant harming II killing you insanely quick

I never use any other protection enchantment other than plain protection, because I know it’s well-balanced throughout and offers general protection against all outside harm unlike other protection enchantments only specified for certain external forces while leaving yourself more vulnerable from other causes

Protection protects against everything besides void damage however and is usually more useful because of that. Within crystal pvp ome piece with blast prot may be useful however. Fire and proj prot should always be avoided if you can.
