    Replace the drawstring with some blue 10mm rope. Then use a Chinese finger trap on the cable end and tie the 10mm on. It doesn't hurt to lube the cable if it's a long run as well.

      Agreed, blue polypropylene rope, cheap and strong.

      When Nick said drawstring, a multi-threaded rope was exactly what I was expecting.

    Just for the kids out there.
    The two 5.pole breakers are in parallel not series.
    I hope they are linked so as a fault trips both or that could have big consequences.
    I'm sure it could have been mechanically linked with a channel over the two arms.
    But as it's a custom made unit I'm sure it's all been properly designed.

      I was looking for you comment mate! Yes, they are in parallel not in series. and yes, your solution about having them linked with a channel I guess is the best solution!

      If they trip on overload they will both trip anyway. The last one quicker than the first to go.

    • @nickbooth161
      @nickbooth161 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      True, but that's not the best practice.
      At the speed the second one will trip at. It may be a one trip and bin.

    Good video to watch Nicholas. Personally, I would have pulled a blue poly rope through with the cable (8'10") for possible future needs, such as Cat 6. When you used the step/ cone cutter on the alloy (9'50"), I would have sprayed the bare alloy with black paint to protect it, and (12'40") it is good to get a preview of the new Knipex electricians light duty, rubberised hammer. .. 😂😂 A nice looking install at the end of the day though, good one.

    I was on a job a few years back where the groundworkers installed ducting a metre deep but a bit like yours did it completely wrong. They ran a duct around the site but only put one tube to the access point and taped it to the underground pipe with tape. It took us ages to fish out the rope they installed but it was made more difficult by the two feet of water in the duct due to them using field drain pipe instead of actual ducting plus the taped joints.

    Make sure to power the Easee units and get the firmware updated first. I spent a long time thinking my Easee was screwed because the Megger EV tester kept on producing PE Errors and wouldn't test. After the Firmware update and reboot it was perfect.

    At 16:19, what's the matter with the apparently switched PE? Why is that even legal to do?

    • @brightsparkmid
      @brightsparkmid หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As per regs, in fault conditions the PE should be disconnected with EV as they are automatically controlled MCB they will operate when the O-pen unit sees a fault,

    • @chas3997
