I don't know how much of it was acting man, the guy had lifechanging money in that pot, the trembling may not have been fake either way. Some of the stuff before that sure, but the trembling idk.
Phil got crushed in the Big Game. He never seemed to wrap his head around the fact that the amateurs were players who were in over the head, freerolling $100k cash. They were going to be tight as hell. David was never putting the entire stack in without the nuts.
Personally I think the out of line part was when he flipped the bird. Everything else was simply exchanging insults. He only called for a warning when he was starting to lose bad.
Yeah no that last one is NOT Hellmuth being out of line. Doesn’t matter who the player is; spectators shouldn’t be allowed to taunt and harass them during play. They should have kicked those assholes out. Hellmuth was right to complain about them.
When he got pissed he asked Paul to come over to the table. The guy was standing 10 feet away, why in the hellmuth did he need to walk over to the table?
Fact is, Phil is an incredible live player without a doubt. Has great instincts about when he is beat and normally follows through by folding, a difficult thing to do in poker. However, even with all his experience he still doesn't seem accept the fact that poker can be absolutely brutal sometimes. No matter how well you play, it will make you look like an idiot against a total fish over and over again. Of course it goes the other way too when every card falls your way and you feel like a god. It is way too easy to think that the good run of cards is default and the bad run is something extraordinary which is what Phil demonstrates a lot. See players like Phil Galfond, Barry Greenstien etc. on how to take a bad beat.
Phil's blow ups are what people watch for and he knows it. Sometimes he's acting, others he's upset because he knows he's playing poorly. If he stopped checking to the river he'd do better, honestly.
Oh give me a break, The guy is an insecure, rabid, insulting psychotic mess. The pure definition of childish bully. Entertaining, yes, but in no way anything more than a fetid skank.
They’re just the icing on the cake. That rant at Mr. Beast made no sense though. He’s whining that Mr. Beast doesn’t know what he’s doing, but Hellmuth is strategizing like a person who’s playing against a top pro? Why? A guy like Mr. Beast doesn’t care about losing a million bucks, so he can play loose and take risks and not have his ego take a hit if he loses. Hellmuth can’t get pissed when he’s calling with Q high when in Mr. Beast amateur mind, top pair looks good! These amateurs aren’t calculating what you have, what the correct play is, etc etc. If a pro is ever going to play tight, it’s against an unpredictable trillionaire…
@@TwoFingerSaloute Exactly! It's like when you put a $5 home game together for your friends who just want to learn and have fun. You can't get mad when you see them making bad plays.
I have NEVER seen Phil Hellmuth penalized for using the curse motherf***r or calling someone an idiot five times. I realize it's all about ratings and getting people to watch but, it's time the rules applied to Mr. Hellmuth just like thwy do to everyone else. I saw a video recently. One of the younger players dropped the f-bomb and another player yelled, "Penalty," and one was given. Hellmuth should be subjected to the same rules. It's time he was treated as a 60-year old instead of a six-year old.
As I wrote above, if ANYONE else called another player a "mother-effing a**hole," HE would get a penalty. As far as I remember, 'speech play' is allowed and cursing out your opponent is NOT. I remember Mike Matusow receiving a 10-minute penalty for telling another player to shut the eff up. -How come ONLY Hellmuth gets away with it?
This is very true. I've seen players get penalties for much less. Do you think they allow it because of his poker brat persona that he has developed over the years?
It's not that easy in the context of that game. The teacher only had 150 hands to make a profit, so he would have to make some moves and try to force pots. That was why the Loose Cannon concept was interesting.
no dragomir? i dont understand why that one is always omitted. that was my personal fav of phils blowups because dragomir was entertaining himself and stood up for himself.
I think Phil was in the right on the last clip. Fans should not have the right to verbally assault a player actively involved in the tournament. The floor should have stopped the event and security should have ejected the offender(s) from the premises.
Most places the floor staff don't actually give a shit! I was playing a cash game, 2/5 here in UK at a Grosvenor casino, and 2 friends sat next to each other. One had folded before the flop. Anyway, got to the river, he checked every street so I put in a bet of 25. His friend said "call him" very quietly but I heard him so I asked the dealer to bring floor over. Dealer did nothing. Then one of these silly boys said something about smashing my face in, and me being on crutches as I'm disabled I started to wonder where this was going to go, as I wasn't there alone. Unbeknownst to them, my best pal, a 6ft 3" 24st ex navy veteran was on another table and noticed the exchange going on with the dealer and myself. Their faces turned white and they suddenly went very quiet. Moral of the story: probably best not to talk tough to a disabled guy as you never know who he's with! Anyway my point was, that in some casinos the floor staff just can't be bothered! I don't play at Grosvenor Southend-on-Sea anymore now. There are better ones that are better managed.
@@UberFubar75 A notable difference is Phil is playing in a televised tournament where one might assume and expect that top tier dealers will be at the tables and top tier floor people will be supervising since the powerbrokers have a vested interest in the event being a commercial success.
Experienced players love playing inexperienced players because they tend to bet/fold/check/raise/call in spots they statistically shouldn't. In this case, Phil sets up a game with rich internet personalities in an effort to maximize his advantage. He then blows up when inexperienced players bet/fold/check/raise/call in spots they statistically shouldn't.
Is that why he is one of the most mentioned poker players? Or why he has the most WSOP bracelets of all time? How many do you have? Who even are you? Piss off
I must admit, I do find these blowups entertaining. That said, I have no respect for Phil whatsoever. I don’t care how many bracelets he’s won. I don’t care how accomplished he is in Poker. The game would be better off without him, he is a disgrace. I don’t know why anybody even would sit at a table with him. His behavior should have gotten him barred from playing in tournaments. Phil, if you are reading this, go get some psychological help.

Phil was the kid who couldn't play basketball worth a shit but he's the only one with a ball. At some point he gets mad, takes his ball and goes home, ending the game for everyone.

The whole table was laughing but Phil "It might be just a game to you, but this is my life". The guy finally complained to an official because Phil wouldn't stop putting him down, and at one point the guy correctly said "you were paid to be here, I had to pay to be here, let me lose my money how I want to".
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompany I found it as part of a compilation but not on it's own. The only part it's missing is where another player mentions the guy has already beat two other players with 10-4 as well. th-cam.com/video/KbkQBmcd47Q/w-d-xo.html
Some think Phil just needs a hug and some snacks to calm down! Others think that it's all part of a persona that he has to continue to put on. Like a bike riding bear in a circus lol
In poker, a "cooler" refers to a situation where a player has a very strong hand but is unfortunate enough to run into an even stronger hand, leading to an almost unavoidable loss. For example, in a Texas Hold'em game, Player A is dealt K♦ K♠, and Player B is dealt A♠ A♥. The flop comes K♣ 7♠ 2♦, giving Player A three of a kind (Kings). The turn is 5♠, and the river is A♣, giving Player B three Aces. Despite Player A's strong hand, they lose to Player B's even stronger hand, making it a classic cooler.

What exactly is a cooler or cooling someone? Im fairly new to poker.
