I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes around the time Nick Jonas started talking publicly about his diabetes. That really helped me feel less weird and it helped me see that this life-changing diagnosis didn't need to hold me back.
It helped my son too, who also has Type 1, diagnosed at age 11. Nick was the only one I heard of until Sophie Turner married one. I’d heard of the Jonas Brothers but Nick was the only Jonas whose name I knew.
Why were reporters, who are adults, talking about a bunch of underage kids' non sex lives? And why do people, even now, keep accusing boy performers of being gay and that's the joke? What is that?
Because their rings put the topic of sex, into the spotlight, and because their style was soft. And because several similar performers… actually turned out to be gay, like Ricky Martin and that blond guy from that boy group
The fact that the recent new rerelease of Year 3000 that has both Busted and Jonas Brothers on it was not mentioned in this video is a crime. What a sign of peace that is
Kevin girls FTW! And what’s funny is if you ask any Kevin fan why he’s their fav they’ll have the same reason, “I didn’t want him to be left out.” We are saints 👼🏾
You guys are saints, my heart 🥺. I've been a Nick girl since day 1 but since their reunion have developed a much greater appreciation for Kevin. His down-to-earth-ness.. the fact he married his high school sweetheart pretty much since day 1 and they are still going strong- makes my heart melt. Kevin is literally ME as a Jonas Brother. It's just i've always been crushing on Nick.
I honestly grew fond of Kevin cause of the show. He’s a bit of a doofus but super sweet and a bit of a nerd and idk he just seemed nice and living his life no drama no muss no fuss and I respect that. I guess that translated to me liking him best.
I was a closet Jonas Brothers fan in high school. I didn’t want anyone to know I liked them because I thought pop music beneath me or something silly like that. Kevin was always my favorite because he seemed so responsible and normal compared to Nick and Joe. As an anxious risk averse teen who didn’t drink or party (or drive), I related to Kevin and kind of projected this levelheaded persona onto him. He also seemed like the brother most interested in the music and band management and that was appealing to me. I’ve only met one other person in my life who also loves Kevin (one of my close friends). I was so fucking hype when they dropped Sucker and Happiness Begins. It was so sweet to see them and their wives in the video together. As a Kevin fan, I thought it was nice that he didn’t marry a celebrity and hopefully has a quiet life away from some of that rabid attention. I was an adult when Happiness Begins came out and did not care about how people perceived me based on my interests so I yelled my love for the Jonas Bothers from proverbial rooftops and reveled in it. Loving the Jonas Brothers as an adult has been an exercise in not having shame about my interests. Omg I had no idea about that Frankie Tiktok and I absolutely love it.
I wanted to be different and special as a kid so i always said Frankie was my favorite Jonas just to prove that i KNEW them. Secretly though… it was Nick 😂
@@KatieLHall-fy1hw As the biggest Nick girl since day 1, I actually think Joe is the most talented.. (vocally, charisma, ability to captivate audience/showmanship, acting early on their career [that's why he got lead role in Camp Rock] Still doesn't change the fact Nick is my favorite.
Nick was a darling of the LGBT movement for a hot minute, then gave this weird, rambly speech in front of the iconic Stonewall that seemed to indicate he didn't understand anything. He thankfully backed away from that, but I think it changed how ally celebs positioned themselves at LGBT events.
The Jonas Brothers used to live in a town near mine, and they'd go to the theater that I'd go to sometimes. They'd rent out a whole theater to themselves so they wouldn't be hounded, but teen girls would hang outside the men's bathrooms if they thought they were in there 💀
The horror and shock I felt when hearing Camp Tock only came out in 2008. This was literally a year before I went to college, but somehow I remembered Camp Rock as a part of my childhood 😮 If anyone'd asked me, I'd have said it came out when I was like eleven, not literally 16 😮😮😮

Omg I literally had the exact same first concert as you!!! Except mine was in Toronto, and I was 12 but I definitely thought that one of the Jonas brothers or BSB would sweep me off my feet and make me their wife and invite me to perform on stage with them. Ahhh simpler times
They also did the theme song for the cartoon Jake Long (it even has a video clip!). PS: Idk why i never got into them eventhough i was in the demographic BUT i legit always thought Nick didn't look like he was a brother, at max a cousin lol. Like Kevin and Joe look so much alike, Nick not so much 😅
this video is amazing because I knew basically every bit of it (I was into the Jonas brothers since like 2006 and also into South Park when that episode dropped so let me tell you that was a wild ass experience) EXCEPT for the Frankie Jonas tiktok and now I'm crying
being a JoBro stan then and now, I don't remember anything about the gay rumors....but I'm surprised that you didn't know about Nick dating Selena! That was such drama back then, the little love triangle...he went from Miley to Selena to I think back to Miley. It was huge...lol. But I was definitely a Nick girl; and poor Kevin always got left out, haha. But now, everyone seems to be faning over him 😆
Love the video, but would also love a flashing lights warning for some of the clips showing Joe and Sophie being photographed on the redcarpet (sorry if there was one and I missed it lol)

wtf?? Said no one ever. I don't understand how people know Joe through Sophie. It's always been the other way around. I've literally never seen a single episode of Game of Thrones. But I can recite all these movie quotes because of the Jonas Brothers.
I used to love Joe growing up but recently I saw them live and I have to say Kevin has aged like a fine wine. Thank you for covering such an important topic today!
Not only has he aged like fine wine, he clearly shows the most passion on stage when he’s jamming out on his guitar, also i’ve noticed he’s the most kind and personable to fans.
I think i said this on a previous video buts it's interesting to see sides of history that you were around to but were too young to know about. Its fucked up how people called them gay as a way to mock them and shit on them because they weren't uber masculine. At least now a days even though misogyny is still very much present, calling a male pop star who teen girls like gay would be heavily condemned and shut down
Nick was and will always be my favorite. Cutest and least problematic Jo Bro. Kevin was a Trump supporter and is very conservative (he followed right-wingers on social media, no idea if he still does or hides it). Joe always struck me as kind of an ass.
did he say anything about being a Trump supporter? just because he followed conservative people doesn't mean he was/isa Trump supporter. Not all conservatives like Trump
I don't think Nick is 'least problematic' I just think he has the best way of HIDING his problems. He is 'Mr. President' for a reason-- he's good at doing the PR thing/talking "politically correct"/looking good in front of an audience. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have his problems/controversies behind closed doors. And This is coming from the biggest Nick girl since day 1.
Jobros were my first concert too, summer of 2007. I didn’t know who they were, but my cousin (a few years older) was obsessed (and still very much is, I love her sm) so we took her. I had a blast and immediately fell in love and my favorite was KEVIN because I already wanted to feel a part of the counterculture. Plus we had done the meet and greet package and he was so so kind, while nick was shy and Joe was standoffish. I stand by their eponymous album being a very excellent pop rock record.
sucker was a total bop and the happiness tour was great and all but i’m kind of curious about the longevity of their comeback. my sister and i went to the happiness tour because we always wanted to see them as kids but i really don’t plan on going to another one of their shows and i’m wondering how many other people went for the same reasons
I went for the Remember This tour for the same reasons as not having seen them as a kid. Def had fun, but I went earlier this month for the 5 albums in one night tour and I had way more fun that the last show. The nostalgia was great, and they seemed stronger as brothers and a band. I can see myself continuing to go as long as they keep touring!
5:47 Speaking of which, in 2016 on seperate Reddit AMAs Joe and Nick revealed that they like the parody, Joe even said that the scene where he gets his ass kicked by Mickey Mouse is funny
That first clip is making my skin crawl Like, they are good singers in that they can hit the notes, I recognize and respect that But I absolutely hate the way they sing. It's like singing in cursive but boy's version. God I hate it.
I always think I wasn’t actually that big of a Jonas Brothers fan but then I see my Jonas Brother’s Build a Bear dog and… yeah I was a big fan 😅😂 also Kevin girl forever and always!
being a jonas fan for over 15 years, joe's pr moves completely changed my outlook on them. I've been to their shows every time they're in my country but I don't think I'd go again, I actually would feel bad about giving them my money now. I think they forget it's WOMEN who they owe their careers to and most women will stand by another woman in these types of situations.
Apparently they visited topshop Chicago when I worked there and one of my coworkers didn’t know who they were. The band (honestly probably Joe) actually caught an attitude 🤣
The misconception that they were "made by" disney or "from" disney really bothers me for some reason. I mean, they were on TRL for their first album before all the disney stuff!!! Great video! Also, was anyone part of JS....? 👀
Controversial Opinion: Jonas Brothers were reunited aka Nick called the brothers back AFTER the success (and in part jealousy) of his brother Joe with DNCE's 'Cake By The Ocean' Follow up Controversial Opinion: DNCE could have continued their massive success if Nick had not done this and Joe continued on his own PS: This is coming from a die hard Nick Girl since day 1 so you know it's bad
Absolutely agree. "Cake by the Ocean" is the first song from any of the brothers to get over 1 billion streams on Spotify and people generally liked DNCE's songs a lot more than Nick's. I'm sure Nick noticed that..
My conplete lack of interest in them was probably the first sign that i was one of the gays I only cared about them in the silly disney channel movie wii party game I want the tween magazine i read 2 appologize to me now for shoving them down my throat
i grew up with them. like many, i jumped on the bandwagon on hating them. i thought they were overrated, and tried too hard, annoying etc. i also didn like that they were signed with disney and trying to be hip and cool. now fast forward today, i realize just how hardsh i was on them and realized how talented they are. especially nick jonas. they all can play more than 1 instruemnt, write songs and act. somthing that other boy bands dont do. and most of thier music is actaully really good. when you look me in the eyes is without a doubt thier best song.
What I hate is ppl bringing up the Taylor swift phone call to use against joe. Like yeah it wasn’t a good way to do it but he was 18 as well it’s not like he should have been way more mature than Taylor, and the phone call was that short bc SHE hung up not cause of him
not to be the different of the group but although i wasn't a fan of the group (my big sister was) my fav was definitely Kevin I liked his vibe, i didn't trust Joe and for me he was just pretty and Nick was just there?? like he was cute but he was meh for me
I loved Jonas Brothers when I was a pre-teen and went to their concert in 2009 when they came to Brazil: never care a lot for their carreer with Disney: also I became a Taylor Swift fan AFTER Joe broke up with her via phone, so I guess I have to thank him for that HOWEVER after 2010 they lost the spark for me and I find everything... weird. The big friendship between Demi and Nick, with a joined tour and then they "leaving her" after her OD -- of course, we dont know what happened between them, but for me it seemed that they used her hype, the wifes at their mvs trying to capitalize a nostalgia but to show that they are grown-ups and now the atempt to smear Sophie claiming that Joe is the BEST dad. I don't know, I find all of them suspicious as AF. And I loved Sucker.
I always been such a Nick girl because he actually reminds me how I am from my own personality because we both have the same similarities and I’ve always loved my jobro boys because they all have been through so much and I also was such a big fan Kevin and Danielle’s relationship because I thought they were such a great lovely couple and also for joe and Sophie I thought they were an amazing couple but it’s life and we all knew how much most celebrity relationships can be and also speaking of that subject is Nick and priyanka I was never a big fan of myself because I was so depressed how I found out on live tv how they wound up getting married so quickly to be rushing into things so fast it was to confusing to me of their whole relationship alone and having a surrogate baby I just thought that was a big slap in the face to Nick and his whole family because they all don’t need to be obligated to be dealing with any more drama in their lives leave them alone
I don't think he's changed much. But yes- my favorite Joe Jonas era is circa 2009 right after Camp Rock and he was tanner and had curly fro going-- YUM
thank you for the Year 3000 reference. I actually like the JoBros for the most part but that cover band era irked me to no end oh and I'm kinda sadly a Nick stan still...from what I remember of the lore he is the whole reason the band exists - and Joe's hair ewww
Everyone’s mad at Joe because Sophie always made it clear she wanted to go back to England and he led her on to believe they could live in both places but he was never really gonna go live in England even half the time. Plus her interviews where she is so vulnerable and real and then he’s doing this to her.
As a Christian I have not met one guy who has ever worn a purity ring and have never heard of them before watching this video. With that said I 💯 follow the teachings of the holy scriptures and value purity. It is something that flows from your heart and is not because of wearing a ring.
Why seeing young Joe Jonas with short hair was so jarring to me?! You know, like when you've been thinking about the same word or staring at a face for too long and your brain just can't make sense of it anymore..?
Oh my gosh, not till today 18:00 (as a fairly new sub) did I realise you know the M.O on JD vs AH and I am here for that 100%, I DO want to hear it and i love this 💜 ps I’m prob just old enough to be your mum so the Jonas bro aren’t my era, NKOTB! My 1st concert was A-ha 👵🏼 but!! It is nice to hear you talk about your tini-bopper faves.
@@mooncherrie yeah man. Priyanka is 41. It’s her baby genetically. She just couldn’t carry it to term. Genetics matter more than who carried the baby. Like it’s not a PR marriage just cause she couldn’t carry a child.
Benefits for a PR relationship between Chopra & Jonas: The Jonas Brothers benefit from them all being married. It's their image to be 'grown up.' Priyanka was actually being sued out of Bollywood and being married allows her to continue work. Their timeline is additionally super suspicious..
also, Johnny wasn't the abuser, Amber was. Neither are perfect, but SHE was the abuser in that relationship. it's interesting how people can form opinions on a person based entirely on the MEDIA. Sophie sounds like she wants to raise their daughters in the UK....Joe sounds like he wants to do 50/50. Either way, it's going to suck for them and for their daughters since they live in different countries.

I think my brother had one that was signed by then. He used to interview artist when he was in high school.
They came to my high school my freshmen year and gave us all demos I still have mine in my car 😅
What was the name of the EP?? What does the cover look like/song names?

my pet peeve is accusing them of being gay but as a way of demeaning them, very 2000 using gay as a bad thing
Because their rings put the topic of sex, into the spotlight, and because their style was soft. And because several similar performers… actually turned out to be gay, like Ricky Martin and that blond guy from that boy group
6:13 I would argue that hating things that teenage girls isn't so much a trend, as it is an evergreen classic
It absolutely is. What’s fascinating is when things teen girls love get more broadly accepted. The Beatles are a good example of this.
As a Brit born in the late 90s, the idea that someone wouldn’t know that Year 3000 is a cover is sacrilegious 💀
Hahaha yeah. Disney did a number with how they marketed it in the US I guess
I'm technically a brit, and I had 1 never heard their cover, but 2 also never heard of the original song
Disney is infamous for doing a lot of songs that are covers but marketed as original songs
The fact that the recent new rerelease of Year 3000 that has both Busted and Jonas Brothers on it was not mentioned in this video is a crime. What a sign of peace that is

being a jonas fan for over 15 years, joe's pr moves completely changed my outlook on them. I've been to their shows every time they're in my country but I don't think I'd go again, I actually would feel bad about giving them my money now. I think they forget it's WOMEN who they owe their careers to and most women will stand by another woman in these types of situations.
i remember my mom telling me you should try doing some stuff before getting married (about the purity rings)
For me I was into Joe the most and now I like Kevin the best.
Also, thank you Kayla for being a voice of reason again with the Depp trial.
THE FRANKIE TIKTOK LMFAOOOOO
Controversial Opinion: Jonas Brothers were reunited aka Nick called the brothers back AFTER the success (and in part jealousy) of his brother Joe with DNCE's 'Cake By The Ocean'
Follow up Controversial Opinion: DNCE could have continued their massive success if Nick had not done this and Joe continued on his own
PS: This is coming from a die hard Nick Girl since day 1 so you know it's bad
Absolutely agree. "Cake by the Ocean" is the first song from any of the brothers to get over 1 billion streams on Spotify and people generally liked DNCE's songs a lot more than Nick's. I'm sure Nick noticed that..
AS A NICK GIRL ESTABLISHED SINCE 2007-- JUSTICE 4 KEVIN ✊It is his time now!!
You were so lucky to see the bros on the BSB Never Gone tour! My stop got The Click Five 😂
I used to be a Nick girly but then I watched Jonas and loved Kevin from then on!
iam huge fan kayla u are brilliant we need dragrace downunder rant plzzzz☕☕
My conplete lack of interest in them was probably the first sign that i was one of the gays
I only cared about them in the silly disney channel movie wii party game
I want the tween magazine i read 2 appologize to me now for shoving them down my throat
That’s hilarious because I saw them open for Ally & AJ if you guys remember them 😂
The devil works hard, but the J-bros…
Im watching this in 2024 and Kayla, i think we need a Life with Derek video
i grew up with them. like many, i jumped on the bandwagon on hating them. i thought they were overrated, and tried too hard, annoying etc. i also didn like that they were signed with disney and trying to be hip and cool. now fast forward today, i realize just how hardsh i was on them and realized how talented they are. especially nick jonas. they all can play more than 1 instruemnt, write songs and act. somthing that other boy bands dont do. and most of thier music is actaully really good. when you look me in the eyes is without a doubt thier best song.
What I hate is ppl bringing up the Taylor swift phone call to use against joe. Like yeah it wasn’t a good way to do it but he was 18 as well it’s not like he should have been way more mature than Taylor, and the phone call was that short bc SHE hung up not cause of him
oh noooo.... the clothes..... the clothes... no.... why does the youngsters want y2k back? why do you want.... thissss....
not to be the different of the group but although i wasn't a fan of the group (my big sister was) my fav was definitely Kevin I liked his vibe, i didn't trust Joe and for me he was just pretty and Nick was just there?? like he was cute but he was meh for me
I loved Jonas Brothers when I was a pre-teen and went to their concert in 2009 when they came to Brazil: never care a lot for their carreer with Disney: also I became a Taylor Swift fan AFTER Joe broke up with her via phone, so I guess I have to thank him for that
HOWEVER after 2010 they lost the spark for me and I find everything...
Frank is my favorite Jonas. He’s funny; and I like him on Claim to Fame
in the last year, allegations against the frankie jonas came out. i dont remember cuz i just blocked him cuz he reminded me too much of hobo johnson
ty for bringing up the misogyny amber heard had to go through!
Backstreet Boys and Jonas Brothers give awesome concerts.
Awe they started soooo young. And Joe was laying vocals lol
Mad at Joe currently, yet y'all should still stream Do It Like That by TXT and the Jonas Brothers (it's really TXT's song anyway).
i was team kevin too but because i wanted to be special or something
Lmao Kevin ftw! 🤟
can someone please tell me what joe is saying in that clip at the end? i've replayed it several times and i still honestly have no idea
I think it’s “if you don’t hear it from these lips don’t believe it” or something along those lines
What personality would you characterize yourself that reminds you of Nick?
Young Joe Jonas was so gorgeous. I mean, look at him
34 year old joe jonas is just as gorgeous.
I don't think he's changed much. But yes- my favorite Joe Jonas era is circa 2009 right after Camp Rock and he was tanner and had curly fro going-- YUM
thank you for the Year 3000 reference. I actually like the JoBros for the most part but that cover band era irked me to no end
oh and I'm kinda sadly a Nick stan still...from what I remember of the lore he is the whole reason the band exists - and Joe's hair ewww
Everyone’s mad at Joe because Sophie always made it clear she wanted to go back to England and he led her on to believe they could live in both places but he was never really gonna go live in England even half the time. Plus her interviews where she is so vulnerable and real and then he’s doing this to her.
How do you know?
@@sweetpea_____ I’ve watched their interviews and conversations on shows.
6:39 that was the year i was born 😭😂
I didn’t know they were feom Jersey. I thought they were from LA. Lol
Jersey Boys since day 1
I would like to please request a video on how underrated Severance is..
baby nick jumpscare (also their genes are STRONG. that's Frankie)
Honestly, the older they get the sexier they look to me. I wasn't a fan of them in their Disney days.
"Hot foam!"
Despite my hiccups with Joe Jonas, I reaaallllyyy miss DNCE, they’re music is phenomenal to me personally
4:01 '"She's is really good"
As a Christian I have not met one guy who has ever worn a purity ring and have never heard of them before watching this video. With that said I 💯 follow the teachings of the holy scriptures and value purity. It is something that flows from your heart and is not because of wearing a ring.
I used to tell people I was a kevin girl, because I felt bad for him but I was actually a nick girl 😂
Actually, the Wii came out in 2006
Why seeing young Joe Jonas with short hair was so jarring to me?! You know, like when you've been thinking about the same word or staring at a face for too long and your brain just can't make sense of it anymore..?
Would love to hear your take on the Johnny Depp/amber heard thing
Oh my gosh, not till today 18:00 (as a fairly new sub) did I realise you know the M.O on JD vs AH and I am here for that 100%, I DO want to hear it and i love this 💜
ps I’m prob just old enough to be your mum so the Jonas bro aren’t my era, NKOTB! My 1st concert was A-ha 👵🏼 but!! It is nice to hear you talk about your tini-bopper faves.
Also nick and Priyanka have a kid now so I doubt it’s a PR thing at this stage.
a surrogate baby tho
@@mooncherrie yeah man. Priyanka is 41. It’s her baby genetically. She just couldn’t carry it to term. Genetics matter more than who carried the baby.
Like it’s not a PR marriage just cause she couldn’t carry a child.
Benefits for a PR relationship between Chopra & Jonas: The Jonas Brothers benefit from them all being married. It's their image to be 'grown up.' Priyanka was actually being sued out of Bollywood and being married allows her to continue work. Their timeline is additionally super suspicious..
could you elaborate on the bollywood thing?
Is a cover of a song by busted, put some respect on the name 😭
also, Johnny wasn't the abuser, Amber was.
