@@annabelcrescibene4257I think profiting off your child is a form of abuse as a parent perspective.
Like imagine working at 6 years old and being the breadwinner for your family, what that would do to you mentally. Not to mention paparazzi and literally everyone on the internet that you become susceptible to.
I dont disagree that some cases of the work environment in particular can be done right, of course, but I think the other factors are undeniable; to put your own child through that at a young age (no matter what year it is) is abuse in my book. (Its like throwing your child in a tank with both cute gold fish and great white sharks).
If your kid like’s acting/preforming just take them to a local class and wait for them to be old enough to actually understand what being famous can and will do to a person.
Literally children who are not famous at all get bullied online and feel so horrible and commit life changing acts in turn, so to put your kid in a position where it is 100% likely that they will get horrible things said about them is just unthinkable to me, unless you need a quick buck as a parent. At this point we know what being a child star does to a person, there is no excuse anymore.

It made me so mad that Kevin kept the children from her for weeks. He was practically absent in the beginning but all of the sudden, became “father of the year”. They had a prenup so I assume, no spousal support for him. He knew those kids were his meal tickets. Horrible. She spoke fondly of her children and even dedicated the book to them but so sad that they have no contact now.

Britney's family has repeatedly referred to her as "special" and jamie lynn's book makes it obvious that the Spears' quickly dehumanised britney and saw her as a workhorse rather than a person. As someone who grew up with a disability that made me academically gifted and socially behind, my family STILL uses me every chance they get, for free labour, money, etc so ive had to go no contact. I relate to britney abd have loved her since i was a young kid. Im glad shes free

I'm glad she's still with us. It's so weird but people were just so hateful towards Britney back in the 2000's. Not even just making fun of her or saying that they didn't like her - people actively hated her and wanted bad things to happen to her. Saying something like "I hope Britney Spears kills herself" was disturbingly common back then and people just took such glee in watching her suffer. I don't know if we've become more compassionate as humans or what but it feels like if she had hit superstardom 10 years later in life, she would've had a MUCH better experience with fame than she did

I have to admit I was one of the haters. I deeply regret it. I used to laugh at her. It was even considered cool to hate on her in some circles. Honestly it was all because of jealousy. I was. She was too perfect. She's too good! It was so easy to bully her because she was soooo sweet and innocent. I deeply regret I felt that way about her. Now that I'm 38, as a woman, my heart is with her. It actually pains me to see what she's been through. The song Everytime just breaks me down. I wish I was there to comfort her. She deserves only the very best in this world.

Everything is fucked, everything is awful, I’m so glad she’s climbing out of the hole, but the fact that it went on for that many years with that fundamental flaw of logic at the core of it blows my mind.

QUOTE] Schleimer claimed Lutfi tried to save the meth-addled Spears from a mental breakdown but lost control - and was blamed for her being hospitalized and placed under a court-ordered conservator.
[QUOTE] He told the jury that one of the first things he did when he was hired as Spears’ manager was to have drug-sniffing dogs scour her hilltop home - and they found crystal meth in a trap door.
[QUOTE]Schleimer also claimed Spears took “all or most” of 30 prescription amphetamine pills during a 36-hour period in January 2008 and then locked herself in her bathroom. The freakout ended with her being hospitalized.
[QUOTE]“She liked to use amphetamines, speed or uppers . . . and most of the things that went wrong were related to that drug,” he said.
Britney is an addict.. heres an article . Tony barreto an ex bodyguard (not the one she assaulted) saw her frequently doing coke.
The pop star is at the Promises Malibu drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Southern California, battling an undisclosed addiction. Her ex, Kevin Federline, reportedly visited her on the weekend with their young sons.
October 2007, a court ruled to grant Federline sole physical custody of Jayden James and Sean Preston due to Britney's “habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol” at the time, according to the judge.16 May 2023
      Article #3
According to the newspaper, Alexander claims he once had a drug-fueled threesome with Spears and a female dancer and that he had trouble keeping up with her drug use. He says Spears almost had a fatal overdose on pure ecstasy, while they partied in a Las Vegas nightclub.
"We used ecstasy at night to party and cocaine during the day to stay awake," Alexander said. "Then we would take downers like Valium or Vicodin to come down and rest … She wasn't allowed access to her speed habit that's why she manipulated her cult like fans to get the public to campaign. She's a drug addict. Do your research. Of course she threw a tantrum and doesn't know what's good for her! That's how drug addicts are! Many clearly never been addicted or met one. They will not take No for an answer and manipulate to get their way like she has done.
Britney beat her kids in front of staff members. She also had loud intercourse in the same hotel roo. As them many times. Her security QUIT over these distressing experiences. Many people witnessed it... look it up. I can't believe they don't even bother to look this stuff up.. Do they have any idea what theyre even defending,? She's a violent lunatic with a Speed addiction! The perfect storm!
      There is no conspiracy.
      It's called Drug Psychosis.

I listened to the whole thing at midnight, and wow was I blown away by the collaboration for the audiobook. It's so contemporary of a story where you can listen along and look up visual references online as you go on this journey with Michele Williams - which adds another layer to the experience. I’m reading it now and it’s killing me. I never expected to relate so heavily to her. Obviously my life has been incredibly different but I too have parents who aren’t the best. My mother had me on a type of disability where I wasn’t entitled to my own money. (I have a litany of mental health issues and always have but I am and have been in therapy and on medication for the vast majority of my life.)
I’d get a check monthly, like disability, and she would receive it to “care for me.” This stayed the same til I had my son at 22. I was very annoyed that I can legally care for my son, but not have access to my own money. My therapist at the time, one of the only ones I’ve had who was actively on my side and believed in me, helped me get access to that money so I could have my own. I can’t work, so that money is what I live off. If I hadn’t had that one therapist on my side, I’d still be living with my parents and extremely mentally unhealthy from that abusive environment.
I am so proud of Britney for writing this and putting all this out there. She seems like a genuinely kind, good soul and I hope she is able to use this to find some semblance of peace and happiness. Yeah, she’s weird and immature. I am too and so would you be if you lived under a dictator for a parent. I wish her nothing but the best and she should never have to do anything she doesn’t want to ever again.

She was WAY too young to play any of the leads in Chicago. That wouldn’t have worked out. That movie came out in 2002, so filming would have been in 2000. The Chicago characters are supposed or be women in their 30s, maybe even late 30s. Britney would be a fabulous Roxy right now.

It depends on the time she went like at some point she took vitamines against her father's wishes so they went with the "if you take this, who knows what else you're taking" as an excuse to get her in. Also when she tried to rebel by saying "no" they would call her behavior erratic and proof that something was wrong with her.

    • @PM-vd2fs

@Ashbrash1998 I suspect Mr Spears paid people to testify she was mentally unstable etc, especially once the conservatorship was in place. I can't get my head around how it was legal for the father to control it all. Surely a court appointed non biased person would have been the way to go if it was truly necessary.

its crazy to call it "spoilers" like it's a tv show. This is real life. This really happened. It should not be called spoilers it should be called the truth. Because it shouldn't of taken this long for it to come out. Poor Britney deserves an emmy for keeping it all together.

So, if you could please direct me to Sam Lansky so I may ask him if he was indeed the writer behind the memoir. Thanks.

she wasn't dragging jamie lynn. britney was sympathizing with her even though jamie harmed her. she took the high road in this book even showing sympathy towards her father. i think you misunderstood what she wrote. you probably weren't really paying attention because the book didn't have your full undivided attention due to you being at work, or you just enjoy pettiness and drama. also she doesn't have to be completely there mentally to deserve freedom. after all the trauma she experienced in the conservatorship and her childhood, i'm sure she has some mental illnesses but that doesn't mean she should lose her civil rights

I was hoping that she would add some thing about her recent divorce in the book. It sounds like she’s never really had too much luck with the men in her life. And I suppose of all the guys she dated, Justin Timberlake, was at least a quality guy. Maybe they were just too young and it wasn’t gonna work out.

For those of us who know what she’s been through and been following for years - yes there is not much that is new - but that’s the point. This book is to confirm from herself about what she went through for the outside to stop vilifying her. Popcorned Plant stated that it seems like it’s a love letter for her boys to see one day. Britney is here and with us - but she has to trail lightly because there’s still on going lawsuits with team con so she can’t go into deep depth about anything.

Sherry, no… Having the public try to find a reason to send hate on you since the beginning of your career for no reason at all - for them to jump in like sharks after prey once JT played with the narrative, is NOT her fault. People pressuring her to get rid of the baby she wanted and manipulating a young girl like that, is NOT her fault. Britney is a flawed person just like the rest of us; that does NOT mean she brought any of this on herself when the people around her were meant to love and protect her.

Yes she does discuss dating a photographer and the swat team busting in. She got scared she would never see her son again (which based on all the events she talked about, was a very valid fear) and took her son into the bathroom. The guards said they would give her a bit of time. They didn’t. The busted through the door
