- Thank you so much for 1,000 subscribers! :DD (this is the 1K special)
The word "Ami" roughly translates to "Yankee" (German slang for "American")
Special thanks to @StormAce96 for transcribing the entire thing :)
Original audio: • Ami, go home!
0:23- "Pershing Number Two" (Pershing II) refers to an American missile by the same name, of which 108 were deployed in (West) Germany in 1979-80.
0:25- "die cruise-missile" refers to American Ground Launched Cruise Missiles, 160 of which were deployed to Europe.
0:56- "Schmierenkomödiant" literally means "bad actor" or "bad comedian", in this case a "clown" (the US president at the time).
1:24- "stay within your own longitude!" is a literal translation of the phrase "Bleib auf deinem Längengrad!" but can be translated to "stay within your own boundaries!"
1:25- "dollar-dance" or money dance- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money_d...
1:55- The audio breaks here so its hard to tell what is actually being said.
Theres no English article on the song, only a German one.

LYRICS:
(Go home, Ami Ami, go home!
Kommen Pershing Number Two
Go home, Ami Ami, go home!
...
Go home, Ami Ami, go home!
…
Ami, hör' auf unser'n Rat:
Bleib auf deinem Längengrad!
Samt Dollar-Dance und Disco-Melodie
„Way of life“, wir danken's sehr
Nein - wir spielen jetzt nicht mehr!
Coca-Cola und McDonald's Kolonie
Go home, Ami Ami, go home!
…
Deine Freunde, Uncle Sam
Sehen wir auch viel lieber gehen
Deinen Sheriff [AUDIO BREAK]
Go home, Ami Ami, go home!
…
Fehlschlag; damals Vietnam
Fehlschlag; dein Neutronenplan
Und das Lied wird lauter überall gehört
Go home, Ami Ami, go home!
…
OH NO I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!
THE LYRICS ARE ON THE SCREEN!?!?!?
NOOOOOOOOOO
just fyi, I think this is a west German version since the USA are mentioned as friends and partners while they say "Den Genscher und den schmidt nehmt nach Arizona mit", both were German politicians in the 70s
I love that you included "translation notes", it makes it even better.
Die "AMIS" sollen bleiben wo sie hingehören! Im Pentagon, einsperren und Schlüssel wegschmeißen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“With your Coca Cola and McDonald’s colony”
I guess that’s what USA is
More like Starbucks colony but that works too
Not only it's a rare recording, it has different lyrics! Very good find!
I noticed that too! I kinda want to know how the different Versions of this Song were Created...
Ami! HAU AB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*"Ein Schmierenkomödiant im Weißen Haus"* is the most relate thing ever said
This is the type of song you'd listen w/ ur colleagues in a local pub. Well picked!
Thank you :)
"Clown in White house" is very realistic for 2023
No
Trump is still better than 70 year old man with dementia 💀
It's very realistic always !
@@stephenbachmann1171 Oh buddy, we've had clowns in office as far back as 1980.

After the break in 1:55 it says "und den Gentscher und den Schmidt nach Arizona mit"
Who are they?
@@seronymus The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chancellor
Congrats on 1k
Thank you :)
OK THESE LYRICS ARE RLY GOOD TOO
As an American I can say this is a certifed hood classic
What hood and where? In Germany they do not have communism anymore.
The song is literally based off an American civil war song called “Tramp Tramp Tramp”
As an American, I hate when American people be American on American land.
Say thatto German Government@@michaelcraig9449
Great version of this classic
Amazing version!
Thank you!
Nice to see you here, I love your videos :)
"0:56- "Schmierenkomödiant" literally means "bad actor" or "bad comedian", in this case a "clown" (the US president at the time)."
Assuming this is referring to Reagan, it's probably meant literally. He _was_ a bad actor before entering politics.
Probably did lol, I decided to use "clown" instead though
@@cortexradio I mean that is also accurate
i thought they meant trump
@@kapitanpufferfish5164 yup its referring to reagan, someone in the comments confirmed it
At 1:55- It says:Und den Genscher und den Schmidt nimm nach Arizona mit
(Take Genscher and Schmidt to Arizona)
Genscher was Foreign Minister and Schmidt Chancellor of germany
Helmut Schmidt ?

meh i feel like while what happened was shocking, it was a way to get Japan out and finish the war
@@theLopBopian Japan was finished long before that, there was no need for the atom bombs and crucially the American leadership knew it at the time too. There was too much momentum and political capital invested in moving ahead with the atom bombs, so they dropped them. An unjustified war crime either way. Obviously there is more to the story, but the bottom line is, the narrative of "it was the only way to make them surrender" was manufactured after the fact. At the time, every party knew Japan was finished. Japan knew it, the USSR knew it and the USA knew it. It was not "necessary" to force a surrender.
Wow such an cool song from eastern german about the germans wanting their own land and not american beings there and taking over.
They started the war, and they LOST it. that was the only reason the US was there.
The Russians already took over. East Germany was merely a Soviet puppet and the song isn’t even east german it was an American civil war song called “Tramp Tramp Tramp” and they added German lyrics to it
Love how American the music sounds
Does anybody know the lyrics for the passage when there was the audio flipped?
Genscher: Minister of foreign Affaires
Schmidt: Chancellor
What means the Song is from the time about 1981-82
I suppose you own the record? Thank you so much!
@@cortexradio not realy but that is the first Thing i understand after that error
Gibt es das auch in besser?
German...who else ?
There is one major error in the lyrics: They don't sing "abnormalen Dreck" but "atomaren Dreck" in reference to the nukes in West Germany.
Ami go home!
Congratulations!
Thank you :D
😂😂😂 crazy! Jo da tanzt man doch gleich mit.
Good, something for both the german far right and far left
Love how over the top this song sounds, both with its vibe and message. Absolute bop, even though I don't really agree with its message.
Passt!!!
Think my grandfather used to sing something similar to this during his younger days in Argentina
Correction: It's "schafft den atomaren (nuclear) Dreck" instead of "abnormalen Dreck" in the refrain.
My comment didn't post :( but what is a "dollar dance" anyway? Also I love this we need a 2023 version. At 2:25 Afghanistan would fit perfectly
According to Wikipedia: “an event at some wedding receptions in various cultures. During a money dance, male guests pay to dance briefly with the bride, and sometimes female guests pay to dance with the groom.”
@@SwePol interesting, but how does that fit the context of East Germany vs USA?
@@seronymus It's either something metaphorical I don't get, or it's a joke based on the fact that the currency of the USA is called the dollar.
@@SwePol that's probably it, I was first thinking of some political gaffe or economic strategy from the 80s by NATO
@@seronymusI’d probably assume it’s just another jab at American culture

1:58 I hear "schmitt" which is "Schmitt" in german
He probably said schmidt, the German version of smith
Hey, can you update this version of the song without the audio break?
I would, but I do not have the version without the audio break
@@cortexradio dang... you can't find a way to edit it out or anything?
@@christopherpowell3166 it would sound even weirder than it is already, so no
@@cortexradio fair enough, it's an absolutely amazing song tbh, so I understand
Diese Version muss der 1980er sein. Wird verschleiert über Ronald Reagan gesungen.
what happened at 1:54?
The audio broke, its mentioned in the description
Shitmericans went home 😂
I think its not "abnormalen", its "atomaren" (=atomic) Dreck. Please correct
👍👍👍
I'd like to say they say Atomaren Dreck and not abnormalen dreck (atomar means nuclear)

Exactly
