      Znaci slava Slavenima, onim pravim Slavenima?!

      And dare I say very often even within 1 nation or country the dance and costume styles vary, in some cases greatly. For example, different parts of Slovakia (✊😄) have each their own specific dances (from softer to "stampier") and costumes, both of which are not the same even in two neighbouring villages.

    In England no one is proud of our traditional dance. Ireland, Scotland and Wales proudly practice their dance. The dance we have in the England is stereotypically men only, called "Morris" and they are (for the most part) ridiculed. If you're a man and you dance then you're considered gay, unless it is to hip hop or R'n'B in a nightclub is usually where it's acceptable. Very sad. I love nothing more than a man who will dance and not feel stupid. I think it's a wonderful thing to do. I saw a few ethnic weddings where the men and women are proud to do their national dance, that's such an awesome and sacred thing to have. A wedding/social gathering in the UK centres around getting really drunk, we have nothing else in common. I suppose our identity is diminished.

Near this region we have another one named "Orawa" which we share with Slovakia (Orava in slavic perhaps). And then there's a poland-slovakia border, and city Trstena. that's not actually true. yes, they resemble each other, but you must pay attention. there are huge differences in clothing etc. see the osman influence in southern countries? changes in dance moves? sometimes different musical instruments? those are the details that make a humungous difference. but we have the same roots and very similar cultures, that is true.

  • @rkozakand
    @rkozakand 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Not too bad. There is much more variety that could have been shown. You showed nothing from the Croatian islands or from the Dinaric culture of the Balkan mountains. The last two clips under Serbia were not Serbian but of either the Rusyn or Ukrainian minority in Vojvodina. The Ukrainian clip with the men in skirts is a one off humorous performance which is not typical.

Osim toga muzika i ples ne poznaju granice i nacije, pa se tako na malom prostoru stapaju razni ritmovi i hvala Bogu, da je tako!

      @@evgenia1912 Rusyns , aka Carpathian Rusyns are from the Carpathian Mountains, which is shared between Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and I believe Romania. Though there are some scattered through these said coutries, as well as diaspora in the USA. They are East Slavic in ancestry and origin, when it comes to the timelines of the Kingdoms and the building and advancement of Slavia. Parts of the mountains are considered within borders of each of the Slavic countries I named, but they state themselves as East Slavic. Though I acknowledge that there are some that embrace their Rusyn heritage while not being bothered by being called the country they're in, i.e. a Rusyn who is within the borders of Slovakia may do so, or may not, depending on how they feel and embrace their culture.
      They have Cyrillic alphabet, specifically Ukrainian alphabet, and have words that are borrowed from the countries I named. Depending on where they live, they may have accents according to the country they are in, at least what their environment has influenced them with. Plus i notice with Slovakia, some words and terms are just written in Latin alphabet, but thats just a few that i have witnessed so i cannot say for all of them.
      My family is Carpatho-Rusyn, we are of Lemkos. Older generations utilized Cyrillic, utilizing Lemko, Ukrainian, Russian, and Church Slavonic (Cyrillic alphabet used in Eastern Orthodox Church). They were from the veeeeerrryyyyy southeast corner of Poland, even though not considering themselves Polish at all and only having some influences of Polish sounds while utilizing more Ukrainian and Russian.
      Tldr: Rusyns (Carpathian-Rusyns) live in the Carpathian Mountains, being within borders of Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania, as well as having scattered diaspora. Many utilize Cyrillic alphabet and most language and dialect influences are East Slavic, with influences from West Slavic depending.
