      Exactly right.
      And I got news for him. The Hellcat was born from the XD-S Mod 2.
      It's far more than reliable it's accomplished something the Hellcat can't 25 thousand rounds without a single failure.
      Just saying you can't zero and use a red dot just told me all I needed to know.
      I don't own one I own several. And don't own and won't buy a Hellcat. Why buy what came from the original.
      Bladtech makes both inside and outside waist band made for optics.
      All the ones he just named I've never found one made for optics.

      @@bertda3rd504 have I not. I'm a retired sheriff's deputy from the Mecklenburg County sheriff's department retired and my last 8 years I was the command master Sgt. I taught new recruits as well as led the Sheriff's ERT team and taught them how to shoot more proficiently. I won the North Carolina law enforcement open championship in 1995 and 1996.
      Don't believe me. Go to the Sheriff's training center in Mecklenburg County at the sheriff's academy and both are still hanging right there.
      So after you take your foot out of your mouth you may want to learn the first rule I taught all students. I don't care how much you think you know you will learn more in the next 3 months than you had in your entire life. We never stop learning. I learn constantly.
      I try to politely explain things to people and give them a chance to test what I've said or better still ask a local expert and mean a real expert. Not one that claims to be. I've saved people thousands of dollars on un-needed gear or gear they are not yet ready for.
      Once you can walk the walk instead of talking the talking meet me at the the range.
      Why people get do offended from another with far more experience trying to teach them I will never understand.
      Once you have fired well over 50 thousand handgun rounds through well over 60 to 70 different models then another 10 thousand for sniper training then you can tell me how stupid or wrong I am. Until that day comes and it takes many many years to accomplish then you can tell me what I do or don't know.
      In the mean time keep practicing and I wish you well.

    Said I would, and here I am: picked up my .45 ACP version of this Mod.2 today, with the CT red dot. I am beyond impressed with the form--I cannot stress that enough: super light-weight yet robust, ergonomically sound, will be the perfect piece to end my collection. I started my arsenal with big bore calibers (.50 A.E., .500 S&W, 10mm Auto), but only recently within the last couple of months obtained a 9mm (P226 X5 STAS), and now this for EDC. Love it! Mine was marketed as shipping with a hard case, but I received the small soft case/bag instead, which is fine with me--a very nice soft case. I'll be getting a Case Club pelican for this anyway ($50 and worth it, I have two for my long-range rifles). I also thought the three mags would be all the same capacity, but I got one 5-round and two 6-round; so gonna' have to get three more 5's and one more 6; put two single round/grip extensions on two of the 6's, and will have a 20-round carry option along with a 20-round training option. Will be visiting the range soon. Again, thanks for your video, Country Boy Reviews--you were influential in my decision to purchase. Be safe, everyone!

      I just bought the OSP without the CT in 45(it was very reasonably priced). I plan to get a couple 6 round mags. I've heard there are 7 round ones too. I also have a Commander and the triggers are very different. I prefer the Commander's trigger. That said, the XDs is a lot lighter and a bit smaller, so it's better for EDC, which is why I got it. Looking to get some HST +P for carry, but I will break it in with hardball. I have some critical duty too.

    • @Ignorin_Rad
      @Ignorin_Rad ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nokoolaid Congrats on your new piece, sir! Yeah, I found a way to get the 7-round mags, but now I'm debating that option with just sticking to the OEM's, after all this was built for immediate threat defense, so that one can neutralize or beat a safe retreat, rather than a sustained shootout, especially in .45 ACP. I say that with no criticism toward the gun or the ammo. I'm also looking to the HST (accidentally purchased the Hyra-Shok), and I have the Speer 230 Short Barrel; also looking to get the Winchester Ranger T-Series. Didn't want to go the HST +P route out of a 3.3'' barrel, as I'm not sure the full benefit of +P ammo will be experienced, but only more felt recoil. I'm willing to change that opinion if necessary. Safe shooting!

    • @nokoolaid
      @nokoolaid ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ignorin_Rad A lot of the 45 ammo is underloaded to whatever specs they have, so I figure go for as much as possible for the short barrel. The HSTs seem to be the most reliable in 45 in terms of velocity and expansion. The +P should be doing 850 or so in the shorter barreled gun. I have seen some folks on YT shoot 45 Super int he XDs. That seems a little much. The Winchester T did well at Lucky Gunner labs too. Another choice is Underwood. They seem to come close to published in the standard barrel lengths.

    • @Ignorin_Rad
      @Ignorin_Rad ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nokoolaid Yeah, Underwood is one of my favorite brands, and comprises most of the ammo for my firearms; looking at some 135gr. solid copper, fluted-nose cartridges. Buffalo Bore (sometimes Steinel). The point about HST's +P is strong. What about the extra wear-n-tear on the barrel? Does Springfield or anyone else offer OEM/aftermarket spares for these?

    Tlr 6 light fits it so well 👌 would definitely recommend it and the rechargeable batterys for it. Get it and a holster for the light as well. Its great. People getting all fussy over round count 😅 nearly every situation only 2 or 3 shots are fired. Nearly all other times its because they mag dumped as a reaction. I have the original version of the XDs 9 and XDs 45. I got them both as soon as they were released. I also have the XDs 9 Mod2 with Grip Zone (Ugly graphic), in addition to the XDs 9 Mod2 (second version of the Mod2 without Grip Zone) and the XDs45 Mod2. I have never had a single issue with any of them since I started buying them in 2012. I am also one of those guys that isn't too concerned with the lack of ammo capacity in comparison to other small 9mms and 45s, but that doesn't mean I am against carrying more rounds as if that's all I will ever need because "I'm that good." No, I also have several Hellcats with 14 rounds of 9mm for example as well as other small but higher capacity guns. However I don't think smaller ammo capacity is a deal breaker for buying a gun. I do carry spare mags with me so I feel very comfortable with what I have.
    The heavier trigger is also not a big deal to me. As with any gun, if you practice enough, that trigger is going to feel natural and you will get good with it. And I can PROMISE you, if you are in life and death situation and you have to use your gun, you will NOT even notice that trigger. And at the same time, that heavier trigger is one more aspect of that gun that makes it safe to carry or helps prevent negligent discharges.

      Apex has an enhanced trigger for this gun (XDS 9mm Mod.2 only) that I'm tempted to try. It only lightens the weight by 1lb, but is supposed to remove a small amount of pre-travel, and slightly shorten the reset. I prefer a trigger in the 5 - 6.5lb range. The Apex sounds like a refinement of the good things about the trigger without a crazy low pull weight.

      As he said, Canik makes a great trigger, and if you have never shot on of the main XD or XD-M line, they do not have a traditional striker fired trigger. That's one of the main reasons XD's always beat Glocks in comparisons.

      As long as it goes “bang” when I pull the trigger, and does so every time, I am happy. Apparently there is only one pistol with a good trigger out there as far as you are concerned.
      I’m guessing you are the kind of guy who uses the same condom over and over because it worked the first time.
