Brett was fishing with his own gear, a small Shimano spin reel. Any small 2,3, or small 4000 size will do the job well. just make sure it is comfortable and balanced with the rod. Makes for an enjoyable day of casting. All the best, Tackle World
PERFECT! Just something I might add... if you are using small plastics or lures that may get ENGULFED by big flathead, you may need to add a short bit of 20 or 30lb as a bite tippet. 12lb is adequate in most cases.
i only use softplastics now because little tiny baitfish dont take them

So would a 2500 sienna with 8 pound braid with 12 pound fluorocarbon and a Shimano raider travel rod work
