- Hey guys! The long-awaited third episode is up! It's what you guys have been requesting A LOT--TUSOK TUSOK STREET VENDOR! It was indeed the HARDEST shoot ever...... I hope you guys enjoy it. 💖
Walk around the streets of Metro Manila, or any province really, and you’ll see them everywhere - the Philippines’ thriving street food. There, you’ll find different food from fruits, cheese sticks, bananacue to some of the most famous street foods like fish balls, kwek-kwek, isaw, betamax, walkman, and adidas. It’s believed that these foods came about because the people didn’t want to discard the “unwanted” parts of meat. So, isaw or intestines, adidas or chicken feet, walkman or pig’s ears, and betamax or pig’s or chicken’s blood, became street food staples.
But, there is so much more to these Filipino street foods than just their origins. It’s a representation of the millions of Filipinos, including the thousands who stop by for a quick meal after a whole day of work to school kids having a quick snack after school, and the country’s diverse culture.

Although I appreciate what she is doing but what is she doing to give back to them and the job that she is privileged to pretend to be? She makes more in this video alone than he ever will in his lifetime and yet takes his money. Even if her intentions are well, this is a form of exploitation because she is profiting and benefiting from him while he gets nothing. Of course I don’t know what happens behind the scene but I am also free to assume that. I truly hope this isn’t the case and she did give back to him for taking the time out of his day to make content for her channel. No hate to her but I just wanted to point that out because this is unfair. Filipinos in the Philippines are already struggling enough.

This Trabaho series is such a good idea. Even Filipinos who experience the culture firsthand actually don't know a lot about its history and processes. Jessica deserves more support from doing this. Whoever thought of this idea deserves extreme recognition.

There's a show in The US called "Dirty Jobs" where the host does a lot of clean-up and maintenance work in different job sites ranging from farms to elevator shafts. Then there was "The Simple Life" with Paris Hilton where she works everyday jobs. But this one is 10 times better.
You can see Jessica being considerate to Kuya. Trying hard to talk in tagalog so that Kuya can understand. I initially saw Jessica Lee from her collab with SB19 and got curious and watched her other videos. I watched her other videos but haven't actually subscribed yet but after watching this I'm convinced that her channel is worth subscribing. Kudos to Jessica and also to her team. Watching this makes me feel how it's like to be a street food vendor. Huge respect to them. I also love the interview part of the video wherein she shares her authentic, raw, candid experience. I suddenly remembered the tusok tusok vendor selling outside of our school, and we always make jokes when we buy kwek kwek and stuff. Missing the good old days, as well as the combination of suka and matamis sauce, so good.

Ang galing nitong episode ni Jessica. It’s a unique way of immersing oneself in Philippine culture and society. Experiencing a day in the life of a Pinoy street vendor and gaining a meaningful perspective to it. Even me as a Filipino wouldn’t do this in my wildest dreams! It wasn’t an easy task but for the experience, it was for sure an adventure that’s well worth it!

I think that is one of Jessica's charms, she makes people laugh without exerting effort. It's adorable, the Penyo made me laugh so hard. Also, I am enjoying this series because my brothers and I were born overseas, and we are not fluent in Tagalog back when we were children, my youngest brother even had to get a Filipino tutor in order for him to pass his Filipino subject. I am not only getting entertained, I am also learning from your videos, Jessica.

So far I've been loving her trabaho episodes. It's gives her viewers the perspectives of how hard these vendors work just to make ends meet. I also like how she interviews the vendors giving a brief glance of their humanity. Thank you also for opening up and explaining your personal experiences after doing your trabaho. I'm sure she will now see (and us) these people differently when we go and buy kung ano man yun kanilang tinitinda.
We were not poor during my childhood days in Pinas but I wanted to earn my own money so I did some work as a Santol tindera, nag dyaryo/bote din ako (I wonder if it still exist), and yung "bunot" ,yung may premyo. I was around, I think 11 years old at that time. My very first job when I emigrated was a paper boy during my grade school then a gas pumper at a shell gas station to help expenses with school. lol. All these early life experiences made me realize that I can survive no matter what.
Sana she'll replicate her "Trabaho Episodes" someday in Korea so her audience can see what similarities and/or differences are bet. Korean and Filipino vendors. I hope a TV Station or a Media company in Korea picks up her "Trabaho Episodes" where they'll show it to give Korean viewers additional perspectives on the Philippine culture through the eyes of a Korean-Filipina who has a "Pusong Pinoy"!
