In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about the incident in 1989 when Rubia Mufti, daughter of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the Home Minister in the then Vishwanath Pratap Singh government, was kidnapped. In exchange for freeing Rubia from the kidnappers, the government had to release five terrorists. On this day on December 8, Rubia was kidnapped and released on December 13, and after this incident, a series of kidnapping and terrorism started in Kashmir.
