It’s amazing to see how the swan 🦢 follows him everywhere. The swan is free to do what he pleases. Yet, he willingly sticks to his rescuer. That’s a strong bond.
I read a story where a man on the eastern coast of south America rescued a penguin. The penguin was saved and the man released him but every year the penguin returns to see the man during its long migration around the continent. The two have a very strong bond.
The swan probably imprinted on him when it was small. They attach themselves to the first thing they see. That's why it couldn't be returned to its family.
I also raised a duck when I was 8. I found her in a trash area where she was upside down and abandoned by her family. I took her in and even though I built her her own mini house, she will still sleep beside me. She was with me for almost 8 years and died from age. I'm now 25 and I still miss her. That video looks so warm but I know the hassle of cleaning and taking care of them. I named her Sunshine lol like literally what the name implies, gives sunshine to my lonely and dark life. Aside from her, I adopted a lot of stray dogs, cats and birds that have been injured during their migration period. Edit: I'm a man. He/His. He came back every day for about a month to say hello, then every so often for about 2 years. When he was near he would make a weird noise and I would know it was him and call him and he would fly out of the woods and land on my shouler or in my lap. I then bought a house across town and moved, and I don't know if Jack is still out there. But I hope he is. He was wonderful.

One of my favourite memories with him is when he was younger I’d take him down to the fishpond every day to swim. One day he seemed a bit upset and was swimming back and forth, like he wanted to be near me but also wanted to go swim and play. I realised then that I really was ‘mom’ now, and it clicked in my head that it was up to me to be the best human mom I could to him, since he didn’t get the chance to be with his ducky family. Minutes later I’d stripped down to my underwear and just jumped in the pond with him for the first time 😂 that was one of the most fun days we ever had. I remember my dad walking out and just shaking his head asking me what I was doing in the pond with him lmao. I explained and he sat down on the bank and watched us play. Little Lenny was so excited to follow me around the pond, we were in there for over an hour chasing each other, he’d duck under the water and pop up behind me, and when he got tired, he climbed up onto my shoulder and sat down and fell asleep in the sunshine, snuggled against my neck. 🥹 He was always ready for a cuddle, too. I used to just scoop him up and kiss his neck, and he’d lay his head over on my shoulder and we’d sit there for ages just enjoying being with each other. Eventually I had to go into town to work most days and my mom was getting irritated because she couldn’t keep him off the porch, and he made a mess every day 💩 and after a few months she cracked it and told me to find him another home 😔 Thankfully my partner at the time knew someone who had some land, a pond, and there were some other wild ducks there, so we asked him and he said Lenny would be most welcome. It was perfect for him. The first time I tried to leave, he actually flew after the car and we had to go back and lock him in with the chickens, just so he’d be safe and learn where his food was, and that this is his new place. Not two days later they text me and said he’d gotten out, but they found him near the pond. Later that day they sent me a photo of him sitting on the couch with their daughter watching tv!! 🤣 I visited him as often as I could, and he’d always come running up to me as soon as I called. Eventually one day he was hesitant to come over, but he did, and we saw another duck on the pond. It was a girl. He’d finally found a lady friend 🥹 after that, I’d still go see him occasionally and he’d call to me from the pond, but he didn’t want to leave her. Soon after, I saw him, his girlfriend, and all my grandducklings swimming together!! I’ve never been more proud in my life. My little man finally found the one for him, and had his own family. It took him a while to re integrate to living as a duck among other ducks, but it was okay. We needed each other for a long time. He’d arrived in my life at a time I was deeply depressed, and to this day I stand by my statement that he saved my life as much as I saved his. Sorry for such a long response, but once I started writing, the memories started flowing back. I’m still smiling like an idiot while typing this. Thank you for asking about our story. 💛

Yeah, I still don't get it since even baby swans don't look ugly at all and are similar to ducklings aside from color. A little discriminatory if you ask me.

I rescued a baby Muscovy duck that was attacked by something and he had a big open wound on his back. Saving him was the most fulfilling thing in my whole life. He’s doing great and as I type this he’s fully grown up and sitting on my patio right now lol I love him so much. I’m so happy this man saved that baby swan.

Unfortunately they don't usually possess the ability to recover sick individuals, and often it's more profitable to abandon the sick member in favour of the others. Luckily, many humans are very invested in helping and recovering the members that their families cannot.

I've been wanting to try vegetarian or vegan. It makes me disgusted now to think of animals. Including the thought of how would people feel of it was Cannibalism. Oh my goodness. Especially when TV news or other tv programs has shown pictures of how some animals are Humanely murdered I don't understand that c*** anymore.

If I am not mistaken, ducks, geese, and I'm assuming swans will imprint on a human or other being that nutures and feeds it as a newborn/infant. This fine caring gentleman became Seven's momma. This made my heart smile. ❤️

Я так спасла новорожденного котенка 6 августа, мать родила и бросила, а та лежала, 4 часа от роду и пищала, я её подобрала и выкармливала по часам, 10 дней спала по 3 часа в сутки, очень переживала. Сейчас малышке уже 4 месяца, бодрая и весёлая красавица!
До чего же красивое и умное создание.А человеку благодарность за спасенную жизнь.С какой он добратой берёт ещё малыша,а потом укрывает одеяльцем.Так мило.И вырастил себе верного друга!
It just broke my heart and had tears in my eyes to see him slowly dying. What was he sick with that they abandoned him? How were you able to get him well enough in three days?
sometimes it's just food. runts (for whatever reasons) can't compete with siblings for food, and none of the family has opposable thumbs. that simple, really. it happens to every single macrofauna on earth with parents that raise their young except humans. it's actually kinda rare that it doesn't, and that's primarily with animals who only give birth to one or two at a time, or have long gestation periods. mother elephants absolute stay with and mourn their children, sometimes to the point where the rest of the family abandons them BOTH in times when it's hard to find food or water without a constant march... penguin parents are life mates like swans but don't lay large numbers of eggs, and mourn lost chicks. And magpies (intelligence beyond even ravens) are basically people... they hold funerals for their dead of any age, complete with extended family and friends, crying in unison.
@@Virjunior01this is why I raised an entire flock and 10x the number over one season. Thanks to assholes with cats we didn't even have any flock's of birds left. Now they're everywhere and beat the cats asses. Yea that's my favourite thing. Haha 🤣 those beaks are SHARP as hell, as many cats have found out. Turns outs when there's enough of them ravens and magpies can control feral cats. Now instead of my poor birbies getting eaten they eat the kittens. Fairs fair. Seriously considering dousing my area in predator pee to get rid of the rest of the little assholes. I'll rescue ANY animals. EXCEPT for cats. Screw cats. Cats are cnuts. Sorry NOT sorry.

Swans mate for life and get so depressed when their mate dies, that they too die shortly after.

If I am not mistaken, ducks, geese, and I'm assuming swans will imprint on a human or other being that nutures and feeds it as a newborn/infant. This fine caring gentleman became Seven's momma. This made my heart smile. ❤️
All birds do imprinting including chickens as someone who hatched ducks and chickens it fun to watch them run after you !

Я так спасла новорожденного котенка 6 августа, мать родила и бросила, а та лежала, 4 часа от роду и пищала, я её подобрала и выкармливала по часам, 10 дней спала по 3 часа в сутки, очень переживала. Сейчас малышке уже 4 месяца, бодрая и весёлая красавица!

sometimes it's just food. runts (for whatever reasons) can't compete with siblings for food, and none of the family has opposable thumbs. that simple, really. it happens to every single macrofauna on earth with parents that raise their young except humans.
it's actually kinda rare that it doesn't, and that's primarily with animals who only give birth to one or two at a time, or have long gestation periods. mother elephants absolute stay with and mourn their children, sometimes to the point where the rest of the family abandons them BOTH in times when it's hard to find food or water without a constant march... penguin parents are life mates like swans but don't lay large numbers of eggs, and mourn lost chicks. And magpies (intelligence beyond even ravens) are basically people... they hold funerals for their dead of any age, complete with extended family and friends, crying in unison.
@@Virjunior01this is why I raised an entire flock and 10x the number over one season. Thanks to assholes with cats we didn't even have any flock's of birds left. Now they're everywhere and beat the cats asses. Yea that's my favourite thing. Haha 🤣 those beaks are SHARP as hell, as many cats have found out. Turns outs when there's enough of them ravens and magpies can control feral cats. Now instead of my poor birbies getting eaten they eat the kittens. Fairs fair. Seriously considering dousing my area in predator pee to get rid of the rest of the little assholes. I'll rescue ANY animals. EXCEPT for cats. Screw cats. Cats are cnuts. Sorry NOT sorry.

And she can't fly but she can fight off all the dogs cats and raven's so she must be really strong and brave. Hopefully the Swan will show up with a partner one day
