MN45 with some mods

- I bought a MN45 because it´s cheap and I like the body. After some modifications it is a rather good crawler and trail truck. With 370 motor, 2 speed gearbox and 3s capable esc it is quite fast and has also crawler potential. It still has the plastic gear diffs but I have metal gears to replace them with when it´s time. Hope you enjoy the video!

@@Georgieframe I found that simply cutting off the overhang from the rear bed made such a difference to the bounciness that it hardly seemed necessary to fit oil shocks to mine.
You thoroughly re-engineered yours though!
I do reccomend u putting oil shocks because those have much clearance flex and also of course it looks good 👍😊

Love this, it looks so much better than stock. Couple of questions, how did you widen the track and where do you put the battery now?
Hi, thank you for your kind comment! The battery is on the bed, under the tarpaulin and spare wheel. It´s all held in place by elastic straps. You can see quite good how it looks 1,13 into the video. The wheels are widened by adding 3/4 of a WPL rim to the outside of the MN rims. 30 seconds into this video I show how I widen WPL wheels. Good morning Georgie.Well can u tell if the things I'm buying is ok?The parts I'm buying is 320a brushed waterproof esc with wpl 2 speed gearbox 370 motor and receiver and transmitter is the dumbo transmitter and servo is the 25kg servo and also a 2s lipo battery.I hope the parts I'm buying is good bcz everything combined Is expensive 👍
It sounds like like very good parts. The 25 kg servo is, I guess, meant for 1:10 scale cars and bigger than the stock servo, but there´s room for it. I use a 1:10 scale servo in my MN45 and it works fine. Good luck! 👍👍

where can i buy metal gears for it?
You have two options: Buy only the internal axles and install them in the plastic housings (as I have done). The rear axle fits fine, but in the front axle you might have to do some modification to make the steering knuckles fit. An easier, but more expensive, way is to buy complete metals axles with metal housings. Thats what I recommend as the set also includes metal driveshafts from the gearbox. Here are links to both:

Yes! I would love to ask more questions.Well I'm buying a proportional servo for my mn45 and do I have to change my remote control so I have proportional steering once I put in the servo?
Yes, you must buy another remote control - transmitter and receiver - to use the servo. Plus you must also buy a separate speedcontroller - esc - to power the motor. A complete new system - which is good, the car will run much better. Buy a 40 or 60 amp esc, Hobbywing or similar, so you can use 3s batteries if you want to. More power, more speed! Good luck! 😉😉

@@sxn502 That´s the downside of upgrading... But you don´t have to buy the most expensive stuff. @@Georgieframe Yes I will modify it which I did but do far right now I've only put in metal suspension nothing else but the next mod I'm going to do is metal axle and metal driveshaft and also if I can I will put in a 370motor

Hi again I'm sorry if I seem to be anoying to you asking questions but if a just upgrade my motor from a 260 to a 370 do I have to change the electronics?🤔
Hi! Just keep asking, I´m glad if I can help you in any way. If you just change the motor to a 370 you might be OK with the stock esc. I say might, because I´m not sure. The best way to find out is to try it. The stock esc maybe don´t feed the motor with enough juice so you lose power. It can also be that the motor will take too much power and overheat the esc. As I haven´t tried this myself, I have changed the electronics all the way, I don´t know for sure! 😎😎
