    *“I can’t believe it’s not leather!”*
It turns out that it’s not leather after all - it’s a Dunlop rubber saddle that was made to *look* like leather - oops! 🤦🏻‍♂️
The good news at least is that the leather balsam still seems to have had a good effect on it and I now have a working saddle for my Dawn Tourist bike build!
You can see me give it a trial run in the follow-up video here 👉 th-cam.com/video/WuBCcC-MNAE/w-d-xo.html

I have a similar seat but with lots of torn places. How can i fix them? Sew them?
    THANK YOU

Depending on the tears, you should be able to punch some holes in it and sew it together with twine or string or shoe laces. But if it’s really beat up and you ride it regularly it would be better to replace it with a new or used saddle.

It would have fooled me as well Rich. Don't know what saddle I'll be using on my wanna-be racing bike. Got a black plastic one on it now but waiting for 25.8mm seatpost to come in from China. Got the frame and fork painted the last few days. (See latest video.)

Darth Vader cleans a saddle. Seriously safety first mate. Good work

Thanks! Yeah I found the mask was really effective - I couldn’t smell any vapours while I had it on and made sure to ventilate my workshop well afterwards.

Love the video except for the heavy breathing in the mic.

Haha - yes that was from having to wear the respirator as there was still plenty of paint stripper fumes in the shed. It didn’t sound so loud at the time when I was editing it 😅
