    Sold my 1999 Taco and bought a 2024 4Runner TRD ORP and added TRD wheels and Falken WildPeak tires. It’s a beast and badass looking. Loving it more every time I drive it.

    I'm trading in my magnetic grey 2022 Tacoma for an underground 4Runner, just waiting for it to show up. The 4Runner drives better, and I dont really need a bed. Great review.

      Thanks man! And that’s great, I agree it’s definitely a more comfortable daily than a Tacoma if you don’t need the bed. Hope it arrives soon!

    Just bought a 2024 4Runner TRD ORP earlier this month (June build date code). Got about 700 miles on it. It’s a fantastic truck. Drives like a tank in a good way. If I need speed I drive my BMW M2, but this 4Runner is so solid. Good choice!
    The things some folks criticize are why I love it (analog gauges, no giant screen protruding above the dash, no computers needed to turn the A/C up, no auto on/off with the engine, manual transfer case, etc.).

    • @MakingMonroe
      @MakingMonroe  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Loved the video! BTW the TRD Pro is the only 4runner with different springs that provide about 1 inch of lift, ORP's do not.

      Thank you! Appreciate it! And yes, tried to clarify that in one of the other comments here…for some reason it just looks like it sits taller when I’m parked next to other trims, probably an illusion from the smaller wheels and larger tires. I was thinking it had different shocks like the tundras do.

  • @Rdrunnersac
    @Rdrunnersac 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    I bought the same vehicle in the same color a few months ago. I put the black pro wheels and OEM “trail running boards” on mine.
    My only real complaint is no auto headlights at night. A $50k premium trim should include that imo.

    • @MakingMonroe
      @MakingMonroe  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Nice and I agree with you, should have that. With that said, at least we have auto high beams, and if you want to you can leave the headlights on all the time and they shut off when the car is off. Not ideal, but closest thing we have to a workaround

  • @ChristianGrest

    They should’ve updated the interior maybe the exterior but kept the powertrain or maybe gave it another gear or 2. Will see how the 6 gen is after Toyota figures out the bugs. That said, we picked up our 2024 TRD ORP in Undergound a month ago. Has the TRD wheels, blackout badging and steps. 1200 miles on it already and it’s a solid truck. Comfortable and capable. It’s a different experience than our 2021 Raptor

    I’ve owned a few Toyotas. Tell me why there is still body roll and nose dives when braking, specifically on the 4Runner?
    Also, why no multi link rear suspension?
    These are my top complaints with Toyotas, and specifically the 4Runner, GX550, Land Cruiser.
    Most people will sacrifice ride quality for reliability, and it doesn’t need to be this way.
    You shouldn’t have to pay more money to buy parts to improve, or try to improve the ride, body roll, nose diving, etc, after buying an expensive vehicle.
    Toyota can improve these things, other brands have. Thanks for the great video! 😊

    I have the ironman stage 3 lift kit and it’s been solid so far. It can start squeaking so I may just need to lube up the joints a bit. Definitely get 3in in the front and 2in the rear for a leveled look because I messed that up on mine lol

    • @andrewcolpo7593
      @andrewcolpo7593 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@MakingMonroe ya I got the foam cell series. I’m running it on the stock TRD wheels with 285/70/17 wildpeak AT3w. I had to pull the front mud guards off and slightly trim the bumper and push the fender liner in a bit to clear it from rubbing.
      I didn’t install it myself, I had a shop do it and costed me roughly $1000. Also Ironman4x4 runs lots of discounts year round so try your best not to order it at full price 😀

      When you drive like a sane person driving a truck those gripes are not very noticeable. If you want to drive a 4Runner like a Corvette then you complain about body roll and nosediving. The only time I’ve really felt the nosedive is emergency braking, but that’s uncommon if you realize you’re driving a heavy truck and keep lots of distance between you and the car in front of you.

    • @MarkH0508
      @MarkH0508 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@bluedevil0133 yes you’re exactly right. That’s the way that I look at it following distance and when you break are the keys to manage of the vehicle slam your brakes on at the last minute no matter what car you’re driving you get nose dive if you gradually as you know you’re coming to a stop breaking works beautifully oh yeah, and your brakes last longer😆
