Just started a Necron army of my own, already thought of going for a Nihilakh style colour scheme but with a deserty look instead of the silver. This tutorial helps me a lot, already picked up the colours you recommended. Love the channel overall!
I see you havent uploaded in a long time but if you ever see this i thought this was an incredible tutorial and im going to finally tackle indomitus with this scheme lol
Thank you! I played 40K from RT through 3rd and have returned for 8th with a new Necron army. This is perfect for someone who hasn’t painted forever. Much appreciated!
Just got Indomitus and wanted to paint my spooky boys in the color of my favorite 40k character's dynasty (Trayzn!!). Your interpretation is my favorite. Really like the effect with the Skink Blue into Tyrant Skull!
I've been using this tutorial Cedog and have found that doing an all over wash of 25/75 seraphim sepia/water really helps bring out the yellow tones on the blue panels.
Just ‘stumbled’ across your channel and I love it! Even to the extent of thinking about leaving the hive mind for a little bit of mechanical love!!! Thanks for all your effort.
This really helps, I just bought into game with a Necron starter & this is probably the closest to the color pattern I want to achieve. Thanks for the detailed video of your process.
Oh absolutely. i've had some of the older models with the green rod. Sure they're fun but honestly feel a bit silly sometimes, really love the look of these modified ones. At least now with the newer necrons there's more freedom with colour
I have started painting my Orks in your color scheme.. only thing I am not doing is switching the colors for pants and shirts. They are all Dark Brown shirt, tan pants and black shoes
Can you do a video of you pre-thinning your paints? I’d love to know how to use Lamium (sp?) Medium But what a superb video! The ambient music was nice, your voice was consistently calm, and the technique speaks for itself I think. Excellent job.
Thanks a lot mate! I appreciate the kind review 😊 So in one of my next painting tutorials I’ll include a small section for you that includes watering down paints. Is it the paint pots or the paint for the green glow you’re more interested in? Thanks again! 🤘
Lol I’ve stopped making videos, but I’m not dead 😂 .. the process is exactly the same for vehicles. Take a look at my Necron battle reports for some close ups of how I applied the scheme to my vehicles. ❤️
@@EmperorsCrusade Oh! No kidding. How grateful we would be for one last video on how example on doing this on Vehicles........ Regardless, thanks for this one! First timer here and shamelessly stealing this because I have no art ability. Thanks again!
Haha one day I’ll add more videos. Sorry to say that might be a while off yet. Thanks for watching and I hope your army goes well. A grey time to get into Necrons if you ask me! Lots of new goodies! 😊
@@EmperorsCrusade Thank you! Your videos are really great and well presented, the steps look really easy to follow. Can I just ask with the vehicles did you do exactly the same process? Just drybrushing? Your monolith in the battle report looks so cleanly done
Thx man! Great tuto. Gonna paint my 2000 pts necron with this scheme. Can't wait to start ! I'd love to see you explain how you painted some vehicules too (triarch stalker, destroyers, night scythe?)
Sweet man! Thanks a lot! Have fun painting them. Super fast. I’ll probably do a army overview soon and will show in depth how I went about applying this scheme to the vehicles. 😊
@@EmperorsCrusade Six months later, my army is finished. If you want to check it out (imgur.com/gallery/9LOsR7V#Jmh4vW7). Big thanks for the tutorial again dude
Thanks man! so its sand glued on with some offcuts of plastic sprue. once dry i paint with steel legion drab then wash with agrax earthshade. i then drybrush dawnstone on and then drybrush white onto some of the larger rocks.. :)
Xhaser Haha thanks dude. It wasn’t too hard. So I just drilled one big hole into his chest from below and stuffed 3 of the tendrils from the tesseract vault model into it. Then drilled two smaller holes either side to stuff two more of the tendrils into. I changed the way the scythe was facing from backwards to forwards and then just added the scarab head to a tendril over his shoulder 👌 only took about an hour to do 😊
Thanks a lot man! 🤘 The bases are painted with steel legion drab and then washed with agrax earthshade. I then drybrush the whole base with dawnstone and then white on the little stones. 😊
Heya mate. I just do a few drops at a time until I’m happy with the consistency. The amount to dilute the paint changes from colour to colour as they all have different pigment densities. It’s just trial an error until you get used to it 😊
It takes some practice but basically I add either water or lahmian medium to a new pot until it’s the right consistency. Some pigments are better with water and some are better with the medium. You need to experiment a bit. Took me years to get right 🤘
Thanks for the awesome tutorial mate. Just a question though, you mentioned that you pre-thinned your pots by adding medium straight in, I was wondering exactly how much you'd recommend putting into a new pot?
Thanks a lot man! it varies depending on the paint im using. all paints have different pigments and require different levels of thinning. just experiment and find what works for you :)
Nah, not necessary. All of GW's coloured sprays are also primers. you only need to basecoat with black if youre painting the leadbelcher on by brush. :)
I really like your technique and style for these guys, but I do think they'd look incredible if not drybrushed everywhere. I know you're going for speed so that's probably unavoidable, but have decided to take this scheme and do what I usually do - spend about 7-8 hours per model. haha (crazy!)
Haha yes. i agree, though traditionally the Nihilakh dynasty scheme is supposed to look heavily worn. You could spend some more time on them and make them neat but it would defeat part of its purpose. when you use this technique on the vehicles is makes more sense as youre able to weather them to nice efect and it looks amazing! :)
I would like to see a vine red, bronze, metallic colored necron - while vine red as the main color, metallic the second and bronze the highliting. Anyone?

Woooow Dude you're inspiration for my space Marines thx a lot!
Haha cool man. Thanks. Interesting to see what this would look like on space marines!
Can you do a tutorial with a necron vehicle in this same scheme? In the way if a ark or stalker? Having a rough go trying to translate this over!
I can do a painting reference video where I run through all of my necrons to show how I used the scheme on each. Won’t be until next weekend though 😊
Emperor's Crusade Yes please!
No worries!
This would be awesome!
its been a month
Fantastic stuff, mate.

The pot paints. I’d love to not have to carry around a wet palette anytime I want to go to the shop xD
Great video, thank you!

Love this scheme and will definitely be using it for my indomitus box.
Do you use the same process on vehicles or have you tweaked it slightly?

This is great stuff! Thank you!
Thanks a lot for watching dude! 🤘
Plz do a vid on how you do all the Vehicles, such a cool scheme !!
Thanks man! Probably will do one when I paint the next stalker 👌
How do you do the bases for these? They are perfect!
Thanks man! so its sand glued on with some offcuts of plastic sprue. once dry i paint with steel legion drab then wash with agrax earthshade. i then drybrush dawnstone on and then drybrush white onto some of the larger rocks.. :)

you mentioned that you pre-mix medium in your pots to thin them down. How much do you use per pot? Pretty new to painting. Thanks Emp! subbed

Interesting that you've removed the gauss rods from their guns.
Lol yep I’m way too bored of the old Necron weapons. Needed an upgrade. 🤘

hello if i want to keep the rod what other green paints will i need for the pipes and stuff?
Hi mate. So just use the greens we used here for the eyes. It’s fairly similar to the colour of the rods
@@EmperorsCrusade ok thanks for the reply
Lovely work ^^)
Thank you man! 😊
Hey man!) I think that mix of leadbelcher and abaddon black (50/50) is better for metal, and than dry with necroncompound, what do you think?!
Cool idea! Give it a try! 🤘
would necron compound dry work for the stormhost silver step?
absolutely!
Can you make a vid showing your entire Necron army? Btw great vid 👍
Don’t worry bout my previous comment, I just saw your battle report. Beautiful army!
Thanks a lot mate 😊
Do you prime them before undercoating with the leadbelcher? People seem to argue as to whether it is necessary.
Nah, not necessary. All of GW's coloured sprays are also primers. you only need to basecoat with black if youre painting the leadbelcher on by brush. :)
Could I also use arhim
an blue
