This is a huge, positive change to these types of videos by GW. They use few colors, don't go for perfection, and applaud progress and not presentation. We need more official tutorials like this to encourage new people to get into the hobby! Well done, Games Workshop!
"Paint Your Entire Necrons Combat Patrol"... for a moment I thought the title was a joke for a single video... but it is quite serious! And only 11 paints to do it. Well done!
I don’t usually care about the typical way of painting presented by GW, but this is genuinely nicely done. I applaud this. It’s amazing for the newcomers who bought large sets like these.
For how basic these paint scheme's are, they come out looking 10/10. And super quick to do with out too much stress. Probably the best and most effective tutorial for beginners I've seen for Necrons yet!
this would be a brilliant series to do for newcomers for the entire wh40k roster - as little paints as possible, in easily digestible steps - very nice
As someone who bought this combat patrol as a first stage to getting into warhammer and being quite intimidated by the painting..... this was a fantastic video. Not too many steps, simple techniques. Thank you!
I'm looking forward to buying this set to get started with WH40K at long last, and this video came as a true blessing! I'm so excited to actually buy the box and begin assembling and painting my necrons!
I'm saving up to buy my first combat patrol and I'm going for Necrons! This video has made me even more excited to get them! I'll be watching this again when it's time to paint. Great video!
Like this, really simple way. Especially the shade to the armour for speed of painting, why didn’t I think of that! Perfect timing too as just got my partners son the CP for Christmas
I really would like to have a video for the necrons dinasties seen on warhammer community(for example the "emerald" ones, the pale ones etc)it would be great for someone who wants to do them with the actual colours (old tutorials doesn't match anymore)
GW... y'all are doing a great job! Keep up the good work :)

Really thanks for this tutorial. I am starting Necrons and this is soo fun to paint now. Could you add tutorials for other Neuron units? New Christmas box could be a good content :)
Would love to see the "spraypaint it in leadbelcher, add nuln oil all over it and use black and tesseract glow for the weapons." As a official painting tutorial.
This is an interesting guide, but it is kind of weird that the techniques and paints used are quite different from the "Start Painting Necrons with these colors" box produced during 9th edition.
So Reikland Fleshshade + Leadbelcher is a new trick i never knew i need until now. But i wonder if other colored shade will work with Leadbelcher/Retributor Armor/Runelord Brass
And I just finished painting mine 😂 Had to happen I guess. Great video as always, love to see this tutorials. Hope to see one for Death Guard when time comes 😅.
We are looking in to experimenting with new forms of content alongside our Battle-ready videos, so yes we may do longer and more complex painting videos in the future.
SO when you base coated the entire army in lead belcher spray can. it indeed had Hydrophobic tendenices which made applying any contrast colors difficult. Why wasnt a varnish layer recommended?? I refer to time stamp 2:30
Hello, and thank you for this great vidéo. I have one question : some people say you have to prime the figs first with black spray before using leadbelcher one... is it true ? or u can spray it directly ? Thx for your time :)
You can spray directly with Leadbelcher spray paint. It works as a primer as well. Or if you have black spray you can use that and do a heavy drybrush of Leadbelcher over it.
Some people might choose to do it for a specific effect, but you certainly don't have to. Got a load of straight Leadbelcher undercoated Skittarii on our shelf right now.

@@officialwarhammer Please dodo! These are GREAT!
@@officialwarhammer that would be awesome!

Best part about Necrons is that they look amazing in pretty much any color scheme
@@MoonlesssNight true, I normally color them copper and glowing red, but I dont know how other people think about how pretty it is
One of the best official tutorials I have seen great work from everyone involved 👍
this would be a brilliant series to do for newcomers for the entire wh40k roster - as little paints as possible, in easily digestible steps - very nice
This helped a lot, just got the combat patrol and was a little overwhelmed with how to paint all the metals
This is such a great beginner friendly introduction to painting. Not a whole ton of paint, easy to understand steps. Great job with this one.
As someone who bought this combat patrol as a first stage to getting into warhammer and being quite intimidated by the painting..... this was a fantastic video. Not too many steps, simple techniques. Thank you!
Great video team. Renews my motivation to finish my indomitus box set! Thank you!
Noice!
Agreed
Your Reikland Fleshshade method seals the deal for me; Szarekhan Dynasty here I come!
I'm looking forward to buying this set to get started with WH40K at long last, and this video came as a true blessing! I'm so excited to actually buy the box and begin assembling and painting my necrons!
I LOVE this! So easy to follow! Looks so good!
This video is wild, if only because the dude has like ten GW handles in rotation at once.
I'm saving up to buy my first combat patrol and I'm going for Necrons! This video has made me even more excited to get them! I'll be watching this again when it's time to paint. Great video!
Following this guide. Bought everything to a tee and spent around $240 - gj GW! This hobby is definitely great at an entry level price!
I PROMISE you that it's worth it, just push through!
Those colors are so vibrant! I love this method!
Nice work in this one GW! Also the new kits this year have been fantastic. Literally wanted to start like four new armies. Haha. 😂.
The new Necron Combat Patrol looks SICK!
Watching this while painting my necrons :) I love what I got myself into
This is a really great and useful video to obtain a battle-ready necron army.
Like this, really simple way. Especially the shade to the armour for speed of painting, why didn’t I think of that! Perfect timing too as just got my partners son the CP for Christmas
Thank you for the paint techniques super stellar for building the army!🎉
Great staff, keep up the good work ❤
Thank you
Wow this guide is phenomenal, I've been looking for a good way to paint this dynasty 💯
Thank you. What a charming comment.
@@officialwarhammer you're very welcome, will there be an admech guide dropping?

This sort of video is a great idea. Lovely work.
My favourite presenter I'm glad to see him back. So handsome
This is a nice combat patrol ngl
Liked the video and techniques shown, but would love to have the official video match the recommended paints on the back of the box.
I have trouble drinking more than 2 cups of painting water per session so will need to spread out my painting sessions I think
Would love to see how you guys do an Ork Combat Patrol
We hope to do one for every Combat Patrol eventually.
Starting a Necron army is looking even more tempting now 😅
It’s a shame they don’t sell Runelord Brass primer anymore, that saved me a lot of time. :(

Yes, you can use drakenhof nightshade as part of a muzzle burn effect when layered over leadbelcher, for example.
And I just finished painting mine 😂 Had to happen I guess. Great video as always, love to see this tutorials. Hope to see one for Death Guard when time comes 😅.
Nice, so much to learn. But could you please do T’au? And than the classic scheme.
We will do a whole T'au patrol eventually.
I'm so confused! I bought the combat patrol and all the recommended paints! Why wasn't the flesh shade on there 😭
Love this tutorial
Will you guys ever do higher quality tutorials? Like display quality?

Love this video, are you guys planning to do these videos for all the combat patrols? Would like to see one for Orks :)
Yes we are my orkish friend~
How would you recommend Actually making the osl in a more complex way than contrast paint? I would be interested to know.
Awesome!
Thank you
Why isn't screaming skull included in the colors needed (at the beginning)?
Cool

nice work, how long it takes ?
This is a good vid, but it doesn't follow the colours the box recommends? So I'm not sure where to go with my colours
What is the silvery primer used on the figures called?
Leadbelcher
How do I paint the custode combat patrol
my leadbelcher spray coat, doesnt look as bright as in the video 😮 maybe it is the Lighting in the video?
I sprayed my necrons but it looked more gray than silver. Any tips?
How is a good way to paint a purple glow instead of green ty
Luxion Purple will produce a similar effect.
