Lore videos are BACK! This time we start off Series 2 by taking a look at the incredible history of the Sycorax, who have only appeared once in the show, but have left a huge legacy and they're one of my favourite alien races in the show!

he's got this in the bag, i think. my only real note is that the constant use of fancy transitions and those sound effects that happen every so often are really distracting, but he has a GREAT sense of timing and motion, and that's a hard thing to learn.

I LOVED these guys. I remember going to a pop up doctor who exhibition in manchester maybe 2010ish and they had all these full size statues and these guys were great, in person these and the clockwork ones from the madam du popadom episode are by far and away the best monster design

I feel like the Sycorax should emphasise the slave trade of the Sycorax. Maybe give them connections to crime syndicates.
Also with Russell introducing fantasy elements. It would be interesting to have individuals capable of sorcery.

This video brought back nostalgia for the books I use to own such as The Visual Dictionary and the Alien Files

Sycorax, Slitheen, Judoon, Silents, Weeping Angels, Vashta Nerada, Krillitanes and the Ood are New Who monsters who should feature nearly as regularly as the Daleks, Cybermen and Sontarans. Ice Warriors, Sea Devils and Silurians should feature more too, Sif would be a great villain to return. Sutekh, Fenric and Omega are obvious villains everyone wants to return. The Ravenous and Great Vampires should have story arcs!

I think that there are some monsters which work well because of fewer appearances
If we saw the Weeping Angels for two episodes every series then the writers would very quickly run out of stories to tell about them and their powers
Plus if every monster kept getting brought back then it would probably start to feel unoriginal and bland since we’d have no new ideas being injected into the show

I mean, I just want to have a few seasons/series where the Big 3 aren't being crammed down our throats constantly. And using the Sycorax again would certainly help with that.
