I have never seen this before and have always wanted to have a go a at quilting, and am so enthused by this lady, that I think that even an 80 year old like me could maybe master this approach to it.Top marks to our teacher, wher in the world are you situated, I am in Tasmania just south of Australia. Lorraine
This is a fabulous quilt. I have always been a bit intimidated by stitch as you go because I thought it would end up looking choppy but it doesn't. You explain things so well and so thoroughly that I think I can do it! Thank you so much, Karen.
Hi: Just found you and was glued to the screen watching you show this method. I have advanced arthritis and have recently lost my shoulder and some arm movements. Wrestling with quilt making my old method is just too painful as it is too cumbersome. I am overjoyed to find you and am sure I will be able to make some baby quilts and wheelchair quilts( for the needy, hospitals, shelters etc) without any struggles. Thank you so much for your video. Love it.
I just found your channel and I love what you are doing, I am not a beginner but at 75 years old I always look for easier and more manageable ways to make a quilting project. Thank you ♥️
Came across your video and found to be just what I was wanted to learn. I am working on a wedding signature quilt and wanted to see how quilt as you go worked. I have watched other videos but yours made much more sense. Thanks for sharing!
I love this technique better than the standard quilt. I’m get quite restless when quilting because I’m anxious to finish. I’ve started several quilts maybe 20 or more and never finished one of them. Maybe with this technique I will be able to to finish at least one or more quilt as you go. I will give you the results by Christmas ❤️🩹
Here I am, not sleeping, when I came across your video. You are brilliant! I have very little space and cannot afford a long arm machine or a long arm quilter. However, I can certainly can handle this kind of width. I can also see that one could make a much larger quilt by just managing the size of the pieces. Truly brilliant! And your quilt is quite beautiful!
How happy your colours have turned out on your quilt - just so pretty! Its is nice that you are not particular about the corners not being precise and meeting at the corners, which can be very off putting for beginners and the feeling of the quilt is pleasingly casual.
A beautiful way to teach.. Thank you so much for taking your time and efforts to teach a beginner like me... God bless you always... You have a lot of patience and a talented gifted teacher. Blessings from Goa India... By the way your sewing machine pin, thread holder 🪡🧵is so cute,,,
I have just started quilting after I retired and knew it was going to be a daunting task. But after watching you make that beautiful quilt I am willing to give it a try. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.
I love how thoroughly you explain your process. I have never sewn, or quilted. But I am facinated by the craft. I've thought long and hard and have decided to get a beginner mechanical domestic machine. But hopefully with tutorials like this i can use that machine to make simple full sized quilts if i so desire.
Lovely quilt and binding technique. I'm in a 'funk' right now re quilting - since my husband passed away I seem to have had my own health issues pop up, the only things I've done is finish my UFOS (only got bindings to finish .....) I think about selling all my stuff ..... I might try this as a baby quilt since I have appropriate fabric, and I think my concentration cut off point will handle it. Your video popped up as a suggestion from TH-cam and I'm going to watch some more/subscribe.
@@patriciaphelps5875 thank you for subbing keep going I find that maki g a quilt can keep your mind distracted with an inner peace thanks for sharing looking forward to more. Hats with you .
Okay, this is exactly what i was looking for. I have squares ready for a king size quilt but i didn't want to put strips on the front, i didn't want to hand sew the entire back, but i wanted quilt as you go in some form. I literally lay awake at night trying to figure out how to quilt as you go without doing all the work the other methods I have seen. This is EXACTLY what i was looking for. Thank you so much!
You are very welcome I have another quilts you go video to launch on Wednesday , I have also made a large quilt on my channel just type quilts you go on my channel
Recently started trying quilting. I have only tried squares. But you explain things so easily I will have a go using scraps to do a quilting as you go. Thank you 😊
Lovely, just so lovely. Youve taken all the guesswork out for us and now we have a very easy way to quilt as you go method in panels. Your backing method is so simple and adds a nice smooth surface...love the gorgeous toile fabric. I am going to do this for a baby quilt that is next on my sewing table. Oh i must add... Your choice of fabrics are so creamy and candy colored...the border adds a tropical feel and i just love your quilt.❤❤
I've seen two of your quilt as you go videos, and I'm sold. So for my first time quilting as you go on an actual quilt size bigger than a baby quilt,I'm trying your version. I only have a small throat space on both my machines. This is a problem solver and saves me from the cost of long arming, and also, someone else to quilting my top.Thank you:)
Life changing!!! Thanks for a great tutorial. I have been limited to the size of quilt that I make because I just cannot face it getting chewed up under the sewing machine. I did think about rows too but did not have any idea how I would attach them. I am looking forward to trying this method. Beautiful quilt. You are a great teacher.

Hello from San Diego, CA! Watching your video and I agree that your way of quilting as you go is more feasible, a row at a time. I watched another video and the person would quilt a block at a time. I personally felt that it would not save me any time. It would probably be easier to put the whole quilt together but your way will do that as well. Especially when you’re quilting a large quilt. Thank you for sharing.
